"The last record was for me" "I know what the people want" why she sound pissed off saying it?  :deadbanana2: I lowkey feel bad that she poured her heart out in Fair and it flopped and then most of us moved on...but it is what it is.  I'm glad she's aware though:rip:

Is it fair that we moved on? Cause I know that she hasn’t :eli:

According to Normani herself, yes, it’s coming this month.

She sounds so angry :ahh:  She def knows how the audience responded. I feel bad too because she truly wanted that out. She looks incredible tho!

It’s definitely a chore when it’s just like “shut up and release what we want” coming from your fan base while they trash the song you love and tells your story…I’d be upset too. Since when can people not have feelings wtf. But these are the same ppl saying “stop policing our feelings” but now mani feelings are being policed. She does look phenomenal tho I love the modern day take on Gilded Glamour.

trash the song you love

that’s a strong choice of words right there; i don’t think the song was trashed by any means, the vast majority of the nation enjoyed fair and liked getting to see a different side of her. the problem was the half-assed rollout; no video on release and now 6 weeks after the release we still know nothing about when this video is coming, no promo beyond the first week of april, the radio silence from her in the weeks leading up to the met tonight etc.

a half-assed rollout is unfortunately going to get you a half-assed response from fans. in this day and age you can’t just abandon a song after you release it and hope it does well; all these reasons contribute to why fair got the response it did and i think it’s unfair (no pun intended) to say that anybody trashed the song she loves

The main talk surrounding the song has been about it not being the right single choice and how it wasn’t the proper follow up to WS. Normani likes to lurk on Twitter so she’s probably seen the stuff about Fair and how people are basically disregarding her feelings. I’d be bothered to if I released something I cared about and the response was “We don’t care. We want to shake ass.” or “Nobody cares. She doesn’t need to be making a statement.” It wasn’t really an attempt at making a statement. She just wanted to express herself through the music.

Now regarding the rollout for the single, I don’t know what’s going on there. From the little information we’ve received from trusted insiders and Normani herself, it can be understandable why they didn’t release a video on release with Fair. Maybe the plan is/was to have a long album rollout where the singles and videos lead to an album announcement that leads to the actual album dropping? At this point we don’t really know anything concrete other than Normani believes that she’s releasing a single this month.

Was about to say exactly this, but you beat me to it. I really haven't seen any of her fans saying they disliked the song. From a quality standpoint, everyone seemed to really enjoy it. And all of her fans appreciated getting a more vulnerable release from her.

It's the fact that she did this weird "it's not a single BUT we're sending it to radio BUT we don't care if it does numbers BUT we're going to make it the only song she has out for 2 months" back-and-forth that (rightfully) irritated some of her fans. And it's also blatantly inconsistent to suggest she's heartbroken that the song flopped because I thought the consensus from 6 weeks ago was that she and RCA knew it would flop and they don't care because they know they can get a hit later if they want :toofunny3: Like I genuinely can't follow the story anymore... did she release the song with an understanding it wouldn't be a success, or is she sad/angry because it flopped?

This is good! Growth!

Now it better have a killer video, and the album announcement with it. C'mon Normani. You got this.

I think it's the mounting frustration of years with no album, and the fact that everyone knew it would flop and further delay the album. If "Fair" had been a promo single with the album announcement, the reaction would've been totally different.

Aww I can’t believe I’m saying this…. But I feel bad for her. It flopped BAD and she knows it and you can see it on her face :toofunny3:

oh well girl. Lessons learned. Sorry you needed to go into debt to find out but as long as we push forward and don’t make the same mistakes… it wasn’t for nothing!

edit: on second thought, she couldn’t go into debt bc they didn’t do anything but release the song and forget about it. So really it’s no real loss except pride :rip: it’s still a cute song tho

Feeling that maybe Fair’s video was scrapped? I honestly have no idea if she expected more from Fair. And if she did, why didn’t she do anything for it besides a performance the day it was released and a week long promo run?

It would’ve been very smart for sure had they announced the album back then. It would’ve given the fans and the people a different landscape of what was happening. Now a bunch of people probably think she delayed the album - which I don’t think happened at all.

And a music video that's already been filmed but will likely either get scrapped entirely or struggle to cross 20 million views this year :spin:

I love her but her albums not out yet (debut I might add) so I get she wanted the artsy song like a fair but she kinda needs to play the game first. Suck up the pride and give us what we want miss gurl. It’s her strength

There’s no way a Fair video exists.

Y’all are taking it in a little too deep. She was speaking directly to her fans. She knows the conversations that’s been had online and she’s speaking only to that. It’s not any indication on how she feels about her next single. She’s actually very hype….

@WheresJayking can you ease our minds? Is the single still set for this month with album announcement?! I feel like we’re so close
