The way the mood on this thread will change as soon as Normani announces anything.

Basically. I’m confident she’ll be releasing a new single next month. She has this pattern of releasing by the middle of the month, so…

So we all agree, Fair video (if it's actually a thing) is scrapped (could come album release week though) and they're going full steam ahead with the uptempo which explains the complete silence? The next thing we get will probably be the uptempo with a big Wild Side/Motivation level push.

Also can we agree, her team acted like Fair wasn't a real single, but they honestly thought it would do well on Urban radio, so the complete flopping is shocking her team + label?

I have a feeling many things are shifting behind the scenes. They're now in "we gotta ensure the next release is a moderate hit" mode.

If the album really is coming in June preorder and presave should be up. Cover should be out. Singles should be on the radio. How on earth is she going to have a successful debut with a last minute release?

I have to imagine it will 100% get released at some point. I've never understood why videos get shelved - all the costs associated with the video have already been incurred, posting it on YouTube after it's already been shot and edited doesn't cost anything extra and only brings it money :rip:But I agree releasing it before the next single would be weird at this point. The song is beyond dead not that it was ever really alive to begin with and releasing the video now when her entire fanbase has moved on from the song and is waiting for what's next would just kill the vibe further.

Normani needs to release a song like Collide Her bestie did that :jonnycat: it would be an instant smash tbh

Everyone keeps saying RCA is gearing up to go balls-to-the-wall next month to ensure the next single is a smash leading into the album, but tbh I feel like it's the exact opposite - I think they've resigned themselves to the fact that the album very likely isn't going to debut with big numbers and their focus now is just on putting it out with at least some new single to usher it in. And for what it's worth, I think that's the correct call at this point. The #1 thing she needs to do right now is release music, regardless of how well it performs on the charts. She's never going to substantially grow her fanbase or build long-term public interest with one song release every 8 months. She needs to have a body of work out so that the next time she does get a decently-sized hit, people who go to her Spotify page to check her out will actually see something.

I hope she attends the met gala, some visibility is always nice

Yes, if the tea we’ve gotten about a June release ends up being true, it’ll be the smartest thing for her and RCA to do. And basically what her fans on this forum and elsewhere have been begging for post-Motivation lol.

Norm Norm missed her window to do anywhere from 50k to 100k first week. The best thing she can do is try to crack 20k, and focus on consistency with singles, appearances, tours, festivals, brand deals, collabs, etc post-album.

side note: The streets are saying she will be at the MET Gala. Her hair stylist and MUA are teasing. If Normani goes: Worst case: We get more teasing but full confirmation May is the month. Best case: We get a single or album release date (artists have announced stuff like this on the MET gala carpet before since it does “create a headline”).

Let’s see what happens. We *may* start getting things moving in May. ?

The thing is, RCA won't release the album if she doesn't get a hit.. but she doesn't even release singles, so.. her chances are smaller everyday

the amount of people on the main RCA roster alone… they’ll let complete and utter flops usher out albums everyday so, false ☠️ (and mind you wild side was definitely a hit in the states at the very least so I don’t even think she has that problem)

ALBUM IS DEFINITELY COMING.

I’m normally the last one to kinda give up but I have to call Fair what it is at this point. It was a mistake releasing it as a single, I don’t understand why she did not release this last year November? So if the video isn’t here by Monday, I’m giving it to God like Mother does. What I do think is that the album is coming out regardless of the hits. What could really jeopardize her career is if she doesn’t manage to at least get a cult following like SZA & CTRL or establish herself like Summer Walker. Hopefully she’s a Doja case where she drops and the public chooses the next singles if that doesn’t happen, the next album is where RCA is gonna take control. I believe they’re trusting her vision  and if she doesn’t pull it off she’ll be in a motivation predicament where she’s given songs she don’t like but pops off with the GP.

Honestly we all agree about Fair, it is what it is. Normani is going to have to learn how to develop some instincts bc no matter how much she loved this record releasing this was a really dumb idea. Especially is she was not gonna follow through with any promotion. Wild Side really deserved a solid follow up because that was a perfect record/video. Had she followed that up in a timely manor with an uptempo bop she’d have a lot of momentum right now.

If Normani comes as hard as this on the uptempo, the era is saved

She’s in NY! :WAP: Forgive me Mother for I have sinned! I’ll never doubt her! It’s May Mani guys ?

Is she bold enough to announce something on the Met carpet?

It’s possible, seems like influencers are invited this year.

Let’s not act as if she wasn’t draped in Valentino last year for the Met. Literally chosen as a muse so I know she’ll be in attendance. Maybe she has something with Ami Paris this year?
