She's kinda dumb for playing right into his hands and giving him a pretty solid reason to remove her. Normally I've hesitated to criticise her because of the sheer level of racist and sexist abuse she gets but she was wrong here. Playing oppression olympics does nothing but cause further division. Yeah it may be true that some minority groups experience more discrimination than others but what exactly is achieved by one group saying "I'm more oppressed than you". It's so hypocritical of the current Labour establishment to allow people like Angela Smith (who famously said 'people with funny tinge' referring to people of colour) back into the party because 'she apologised' but kick Diane out for a similar misstep. As the first black woman MP in British history, Diane has decades of activism and social justice work under her belt, it seems very short-sighted to suspend her permanently. Clearly Starmer and his minions just have it out for left-wing MPs, and yeah Diane was dumb to play into their hands like this. Why would any former Corbyn supporter willingly enter anti-semitism debate after the last 8 years is beyond me, she must've known people would drag her in bad faith. Also, as tone deaf as Diane's paragraph was, it's so annoying that this is given so much attention considering she is a back-bencher, meanwhile government officials including prime ministers can say racist sh*t left and right and even propose criminalising Gypsy and Traveller communities and nobody bats an eye.
