I am having such a hard time quitting junk food entirely. I do so well throughout the day and then nighttime comes and I'm embarrassed by my lack of self-controlย :toofunny2:

ย

I'm think of going from strength training three days a week to four or five (pray for me) I'm determined to finish this year strong considering Iย haveย seen some progress since I started taking things more seriously back in April

why don't you do cardio if you are struggling with food? Isn't that more fat burning efficient?

A cardio workout burns more calories than a weight-training workout.

Oh I run 3 miles three times a week, and go for a 3 to 4 mile walk every single day but that's not enough on its own. Diet plays a huge role as you need to be in a caloric deficit to lose weight which I sometimes struggle with because of how much I enjoy eatingย :dies:ย

Oh I have a long way to go believe me, but I'm trying! I've never stuck to a routine for this long so I'm just trying to find ways to celebrate the little victories and really focus on dieting since I've got the exercises mostly down!

Iโ€™ve been trying to lose fat while gaining some muscle (but between those goals Iโ€™d choose fat loss as the more important). Im down to about 170lbs but I still have a โ€˜stomachโ€™ (Iโ€™m 5โ€™11โ€™) but I'm slowly getting thereย :intoit:

How do you girlies drink protein shakes? I bought mass building ones cause I need to put on pounds and I didnโ€™t realize the volume you need to consume was so largeโ€ฆย :deadbanana4:

ย

Itโ€™s almost 1300 calories but like 50 oz of shake. I think I got like 3/4 of it down but my stomach canโ€™t take anymore and it has made me pee like 3 times.ย

How much protein are you aiming for daily? I try to split it up between a bar, a pre-made store bought shake, powder, and then a lot of ground chicken/turkey, but I can see if you're trying to get hella protein how that might be difficult.ย

Iโ€™m trying to gain back 17 lbs I lost, so I figured the calorie intake would make it easy, but I didnโ€™t realize the volume necessary.ย :rip:
ย

Im thinking I just might try and cut the 52g serving in half, and then split that down even further and drink half of it in the morning and half at night, because even that still seems like a lot.ย
ย

If thereโ€™s other options to gaining weight easy Iโ€™m all earsย :deadbanana4:

I feel like people think I'm a pervert whenever I do hip thrusts. I'm trying to grow a fatty so I have to do them 2x a week, SO humiliating.

Anyone else having lower back pain after workout? Is it dangerous, should I stop going to the gym or reduce weights?

Disappointing. You could still propose a workout session elsewhereย :gaynetcat4:

ย

Regarding the lower back pain, try to check online whether your form is for sure correct. Mirrors help with that. Donโ€™t go and try to up the weight immediately but really try to get a sense of form. For example with deadlifting just use the Olympic bar without weights the first time you do them. Also make sure you warmup, start with low weights for a set and then build up as you feel more confident in the form. If your backpain is bad try to do some stretching exercises at home every day and lay off the weights for at least a week until itโ€™s healed. If you feel like a disk has moved or have fluid buildup in the lower back then call your doctor.

Fluid buildup you should be able to see in the mirror. Just press the back where it hurts a bit and if you feel like its more swollen than usual it could be the case. You can get very nauseous from this pain as well.

ย

Disk is hard to explain but Iโ€™m sure you wouldโ€™ve known cause pain is excruciating and you feel like the shape of your spine isnโ€™t how it should be. Itโ€™s just that feeling when you know something is more than just a backpain.ย
ย

But donโ€™t take my advise Iโ€™m not a GP. If you donโ€™t trust it go see a doctor or physical therapist.ย
ย

If none of the first are the case (more likely with people that donโ€™t work out a ton or are inexperienced is just overextending the lower back. You can remedy this lower back pain usually in a week by doing stretches once or twice a day. I like the cat-cow / cat-Camel stretch a lot, the pelvic tilt, piriformus stretch, back flexion but the ones below will all be helpful:

Really focus on form and not lifting heavy till you learn proper form

ย

Do you know from which exercises it hurts?

I would suggest filming yourself to see what you are doing wrong and don't be shy ask people in the gym for help

I guess I need to do streching after working out, I always avoid doing them. Also when I do sholder workouts, I always hear bones in my shoulder pop as I lift, is that okay? I am scared I might not mess something up if I might do improper shoulder excercisesย :biblio:
