I want to go to the gym SO bad, take care of my health/body, but I'm afraid other people would judge me. I hate this dilemma so much. Can someone help me out?ย Honestly when you see fit people at the gym, they all started from scratch once upon a time and everyone understands the consistency, commitment and effort it takes to remain motiviated to workout. Quite franklyย anyoneย at the gym is killing it for making it there. If I've ever seen someone huge or unfit at my gym, the only thoughts I've ever had is "good for them!"ย ย Gyms are overall really positive places with people focused on improving themselves. You need not worry at all about others as you'll find most will happily cheer you on, and also you're doing this for you. Everyone is at a different place on their fitness journey, and no journey is linear. We all get injuries, travel, have health / family / mental issues that sidetrack us.ย 5

Can someone help me out?ย I was in your shoes for so long, and I'll tell you this: no one ever actually notices you at the gym as a beginner. People who have been at the gym for a while have seen so many beginners by that point that they don't pay much attention to what a new person does, and fellow beginners don't ever judge each other. If anything they feel a sense of camaraderie towards each other and try to build each other up. Everyone is focused on themselves and getting through their exercises, so you'll blend right in with no judgement. If you need help, most people will jump at the chance to provide it since it makes them feel accomplished. ย If you continue to feel insecure, try going early in the mornings when no one is around. It does wonders for your confidence, since the emptiness of the gym will allow you to acclimatize yourself to the gym well. You can also go with a friend, and with both of you around, you'll feel far less insecure at the gym and feel a lot more motivated to go.ย ย Remember: the progress you'll end up making will make you much happier than the anxiety your current fear is causing you. 2
Funnyfatty Posted April 20, 2024 Posted April 20, 2024 I finally started ย ย 2 weeks already in and i'm enjoying it so far. I see a difference but at the same time also not? I don't understand it yet but lets see.ย i moved to a condo with a pool and a gym. Now i can use it as much as i want ย ย I go to the gym in the morning and egzersize at least 2 parts. ย i run 30 minutes and after that work out. ย When i'm done i swim for at least 30 minutes and then come to my job. ย i use Iphone App called Lifesum. It helps me with noting what i eat. I feel so much better now when i eat bread ย ย i hope 2 weeks later i will see the results even better. I'm very excited ย 2

I don't advocate for PEDs in the slightest but the way people attack this guy's looks feels wrong. Some people do start getting receding hairlines and other aging characteristics without steroids. Likewise, some people do use steroids and don't age like that, certainly not right away. I always try to stay away from physical appearance based comments when it comes to anything fitness related, including PEDs, since that's kinda what pushes a lot of people to do them in the first place. ย People should not be using PEDs cause it ****ing kills your health and longevity. Health >>> fitness, all day every day. It's not worth the bicep if your heart gives out in your 40s. THAT is what's scary about PEDs, not balding or looking older than you are.ย 3
glitch Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 I injured one of my shoulders about 4 or 5 years ago and although it got better it occasionally flared up again and felt a bit weaker than my other one. Stretching never really seemed to make much of a difference. I recently decided to do more targeted shoulder exercises and it's made such a difference. Just doing some very light weights (shoulder shrugs, upright rows) for the past couple of weeks has made any residual discomfort basically vanish 1
Vrx. Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Ugh not working out my obliques sucks so much but the V bod is coming in I'll just do more core workouts even though it sucks ass

The general rule is to start with 10 grams for a couple weeks then reduce it down to 5 grams. I know some people believe you should do more based on body weight but I didn't really see or feel any noticeable differences using it based on my size. I like the 10 to 5 grams rule cause it saves money in the long run for basically the same results. ย Also HYDRATE! You can easily get dehydrated using creatine, so it's good to try and get at least 1.5 liters of water a day, more if you feel you need it but slightly less if it's causing you discomfort. ย 2 hours ago, Kern said: My new trainer is so good. But they explained the reasoning why and put my mind at ease. ย Their encouragement and support helps so much, but the fact they're also hot just makes me work that much harder to impress them nn 1

Terrielle Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Guys what's the solution for when you're overall skinny/lean but have a small belly? I dont really have any body fat but my lower belly just refuses to go away.. Maybe I need to do ab exercises?

Maybe try a little deficit with a lot of protein? And then bulding muscle?

Ok noted, thank you. As for hydration I feel like I already drink too much water anyway... at least 2 full bottles (about 600mL each) just in one sitting at the gym 1

The "loading" period of 10g isn't as necessary imo but it does help to kickstart things. But since you're already 2 weeks in I wouldn't worry about it. ย Maybe try 5g for a bit and see if you feel any different after maybe a month or so? If not, then I'd say 3g is fine. Also, is your creatine onlyย creatine monohydrate? If not, that could be a reason for the different dosage, but any extra ingredients besides creatine monohydrate definitely isn't necessary. 1

Gladiator Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 (edited) I am cutting now and my last bulk lasted for about 4-5 years from 175/180 -> 215, the most I have ever been - though I swear I didn't really put on as much muscle as I was hoping for or what I anticipated earlier on in the bulk with the injuries and surgery I needed.ย ย ย Edited May 25, 2024 by Gladiator
Kern Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 I'm on a cut now and tbh I weight myself very rarely to not fuel my body dysmorphia ย I;m trying to have this mindset - I have a diet plan and I follow it and that's what matters the most. Even when I feel like my body doesn't change at all and I will never look like I want to I always ask myself - is it better to eat accoring to my plan or don't follow it all? Is it better to go to the gym now even if I feel like I can't give it my 100% today or not go at all? I don't look jacked like other boys at the gym but how would I look like if I didn't go there at all? ย ย 1
DanyelP23 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 (edited) I managed to do yesterday 3 series of 12 pushups each and a fourth one with 11 (I know, embarrassing, but before starting gym if I did like 7-8 pushups I would get muscle soreness for like 4-5 days) Also my scale at home says I'm at 14% body fat while the one at the gym (the one which also tells you by each body part how much fat or muscle you have) told me I was at 5-6% percent last time, so I am confused. I am definitely not like super skinny skinny, but I don't feel I have too much of a belly (unless I've drunk lots of water and it's at the end of the day when I've already eaten 3 meals) I also gained ~ 7.7 pounds in 7 weeks while I started going to the gym but I don't know if it's too fast for a bulk Edited May 23, 2024 by DanyelP23 1
