Hector Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 (edited) Old thread is now archived. Can't wait for this to come back Wait at the fact it's out on a Wednesday though January on Netflix is SO lit! Edited April 29, 2022 by Hector
Hector Posted April 14, 2022 Author Posted April 14, 2022 Quote In the trailer for the remaining episodes of the show’s seventh and final season, which dropped on Thursday, our titular heroines toast to a crazy ride and the memories they’ve made along the way as they embark on a new adventure offscreen. Part 2 of Season 7 (containing Episodes 5-16) will arrive on Friday, April 29; Part 1 was previously released in August 2021. The final episodes will see the titular characters continue to “show themselves, their families, and their fans what it means to live life to the fullest, fearlessly and unapologetically. Here’s to seven seasons of laughs, tears, mood-enhancers, and good vibes. And, as Grace and Frankie would say, f—k it. This may be their final chapter, but they’re just getting started.” Will miss this show massively, but at least it's ending with a lot of episodes. The fact Netflix is dropping both the final episodes of this & Ozark on the same day though
Dekkan Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Can't wait for this, but I'll die crying watching the finale. So many episodes tho, yay!
Hector Posted April 29, 2022 Author Posted April 29, 2022 (edited) Excellent season, still has so much heart and humor in every episode. As always, Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, and June Diane Raphael had me rolling They wrapped things up perfectly Spoiler The way I lost it even Frankie dressed up as Frida Kahlo That hot guy Peter was dating who was acting dumb but wanted Robert's acting part Yas at them finally scoring a Dolly Parton appearance, the feels when I saw them all together (albeit in heaven) Thank goodness Grace & Frankie didn't actually die, and they were only out for a few seconds Sort of sad Brianna & Barry broke up but that was inevitable. Happy Coyote got a happy ending getting married, and Bud becomes a stand-up comedian. It was so cute the way Sol recreated his & Robert's first kiss/date in the New York hotel after Robert started losing his memory. It was so cute the way Grace & Frankie got their happily ever after just being together as they were each other soulmates which is why it was so precious when Frankie said they wished they knew each other earlier and they get to live their golden years together on the beach It was good to see Grace & Nick part amicably with one last roll in the hay. Will miss this show tremendously. Netflix’s most consistently funny comedy show, Jane & Lily's chemistry remains unmatched. Edited April 29, 2022 by Hector
Hector Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 #2 on Netflix's Daily Top 10 TV Shows in the US Chart right behind Ozark
jackestrel43 Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 If this hadn't been released the same damn day as "Ozark", this would've been a really solid #1 (in my fantasy). Seriously, though, this show is just so special, heartwarming, hilarious, etc. and so pleased they stuck the landing in a fantastic way! I'm so sad this is over though - fingers crossed Brianna's spinoff is picked up and continues the show (in a way) for a while longer - with appearances from the other members of the cast sometimes maybe?
touchofmyhand Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 (edited) The season was very enjoyable, but there was too much filler for a final season and I thought the ending was kinda poorly done.. it’s not like they didn’t have enough time to properly write it. Them both dying and then backpedalling after one minute was weird. They should have just kept them alive in the first place or let one of them stay dead. I can’t stand death fakeouts. They feel cheap and lazy. Also, that Brianna/Barry fallout was weirdly underdeveloped. Their relationship seemed to be going really well with Brianna proposing to Barry. Wasn’t that a turning point in her character development? This kinda ruined that for me. Mallory was done dirty as well. No man and she turned out to be a loser at Say Grace. That’s her ending? Idc about Frankie’s kids yet they got the happy endings. The misogyny.. This was the first season where I enjoyed Sol & Robert. Their plot was great. I love that Grace went into the ocean with Frankie after that story about her father. Again, it would have been more meaningful if they had planted that seed years earlier rather than two episodes before the finale, so I do have my critiques. I will miss this show so much. I think I’ll miss Frankie the most Edited April 30, 2022 by touchofmyhand

I think I’ll miss Frankie the most I agree. It wasn’t a bad finale. I still enjoyed it. But it could have been better. I really thought the special cameo you mentioned was either going to show up during the karaoke scene or in the episode where Grace’s brother shows up.
Siberian Siren Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I'm gonna really miss this show! That cameo at the end was so fitting. Excited to hear that Jane and Lily are still doing two movies together. They just filmed one with Sally Field and Rita Moreno. So we get to keep watching their work together.
