Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 They really saved all the action for the back half of the season💀😆
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 18, 2023 Posted July 18, 2023 (edited) Spoiler next episode references the X-Gene and Inhumans. Inhumans and the X-gene are technically already in the MCU due to Agents of Shield (Inhumans), Multiverse of Madness(Black Bolt), Age of Ultron(Wanda & Pietro) Wandavision(Kid Wanda) , She-hulk (Mr. Immortal) and Ms. Marvel(confirmed Mutant by Producer). All of these projects have implanted Mutants and inhumans within the MCU. Tomorrow’s episode could have the scene where they connect these points and usher in Mutants and X-Men! Since the latest episode has a Easter egg of The Superhuman gene being studied Edited July 18, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
Hephaestus Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Nice setup to the final episode, you can actually feel stuff is coming to an end which is not something that every Disney+ show managed to convey successfully. Once again, Olivia stole every single scene she was in, what an amazing actress and interesting character. G'iah and Priscilla also had amazing scenes together, probably my favorites from the episode. The ending with the same soundtrack as the opening credits was so good and got me genuinely hyped. I don't think I've said this before, but the opening credits for this show are one of my favorites ever. The mix of AI generated art and music perfectly convey the feeling of suspect and paranoia, I really love it. 2
Arcadius Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 I feel 99% positive either Monica or Carol (or both) will show up in the finale especially since I forgot a Skrull approached Monica in the WV finale 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 (edited) Finally a Great episode Why did Marvel wait until this late to make a Great episode? The best pacing, multiple action scenes, Sonya’s comedic dialogue, and actual revelations about Super Skrulls and Avengers DNA?!🤯 Sonya Bumping U.K. Drill Rap😆🤣 Sonya is definitely the best thing to come out of this show and I hope she appears in the movies. I’m glad Fury is back in action. Even gosh finally did something, tho I wish that shootout would have been longer. Spoiler Also Fury has all the avengers DNA, and that’s gravik’s plan to build the perfect super Skrull. I get why fury don’t want superheroes to save the day, but I still feel like Carol or Monica is gonna swoop down and save the day next week Edited July 19, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9 1

I hope they bring her back in future movies. She kinda steals every scene and her humor works well with MCU

I fear she might be expensive to bring back often, but a cameo here and there going forward would be very appreciated (assuming she doesn't get killed in the last episode). The same can be said for Emilia though, except she didn't really leave a big impression on me so far. Also, Captain Marvel has to show up for the final episode. I genuinely can't believe they'd dare to do Secret Invasion without her showing up at all. 2
Lovett Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Olivia Colman is absolutely stealing the show. Hands down the best part of the series. 1
ainadalkaz Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 omg the Mason cameo!!! so happy he's helping Fury I still don't know how I feel about this show if I'm being completely honest. the whole thing feels so small-scaled and cheap, like I'm not convinced that anything important is happening even though they keep throwing the term WW3 around 2
KFC Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Fury is literally wandering around clueless every single episode, I can't believe this is the same guy from the Winter Soldier and Avengers movies I know they've made a point that he's lost his edge due to age and depression but it's ridiculous at this point I hope they fix his character in The Marvels. Nobody is watching this show so it wouldn't even matter if they pretended it never happened 2
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 (edited) The criticism of this show are valid. I can’t even defend a lot of it as a Stan. Just way too many missed opportunities. And it’s kinda insane they spend $200M on this show😭 like wtf is all the money going. I’m enjoying something’s about it, but it definitely is way too slow paced and it’s missing that “IT” factor. One of the rare time I actually think a Cameo would have made this project more entertaining. Sonya and The Super Skrull formula is really the only Great takeaways from this project. Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Imagine Coulson appears with Quake and Monica behind him right in the final moments of Gravik about to kill Fury
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 (edited) Secret invasion is officially the 3rd highest Debut for a Marvel Disney + show. Top 5 across all streaming shows on all platforms, and top 3 on Nielsen charts for episode 1. Edited July 21, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
TheCal Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Please I really need Quake to appear in the last episode 1
loveisdead9582 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 There’s been way too much exposition for a 6 episode season. This last episode was better, but it’s a huge letdown from the comic event. The fact that the only individual from the previous movies/tv shows is a skrull is a huge disappointment. The show could have easily been called “meet the skrulls” but they instead decided to name it after a massive storyline. This could’ve been a huge event… but it wasn’t. On its own, it’s not a bad tv show. It took way too long to get going but it’s not bad. SLJ is - as always - fantastic. It was nice seeing Maria Hill again for a bit. Olivia is a wonderful addition to the MCU. Her humor works well and she’s been an absolute delight. I hope this last episode makes up for all the waiting we’ve been doing, otherwise they’ve wasted a lot of time and energy giving us the super skrull. 3
Scarlett Witch Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I've not really watched this show yet (I put the first episode on and didn't pay attention at all) and I don't think I will, but I'm wondering if my girl Emilia is slaying or not. I still require justice for what they did to her in 2019.

Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) I wonder why Marvel cast one of the most popular Game of thrones actress ever, and then do nothing with her character for most of the show i don’t know how the finale can deliver. It’s probably gonna be pretty straightforward unfortunately. The show should have had numerous Skrull reveals and massive effects on the MCU heroes. But it’s probably just gonna end with fury punching gravik and destroying the SuperSkrull machine. The End😭 then he goes to space and is over his depression in time for the Marvels. Lmao Edited July 24, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) Imagine if this show was from the perspective of different former shield agents like Hawkeye’s wife. And we find out she is a Skrull working with Gravik. And then the next episode is Pepper Potts being revealed to be a Skrull. And Fury investigates diffrent associates of Avengers heroes like Wong and Katie from Shang-chi. And each episode we find out they are Skrulls trying to take over the Avengers from within. Then Fury calls his Agents of Shield to combat these Skrulls impersonating Avenger friends and families. 🤦♀️ like that concept would have been more interesting and would affect the relationships of characters we actually care about. Like use that $200M on existing character cameos even if it’s for 1 or 2 episodes. Edited July 24, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9 1
ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted July 24, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted July 24, 2023 Finally caught up last night. Agreed re: Olivia stealing the show and being such a welcome breath of fresh air I think binging most of the series made some of its flaws a little more forgivable. 1

Hephaestus Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 That was... An ok finale for a really mediocre series. The final fight is probably the best element out of the entire thing, but damn, the thought of G'iah going around powered up like that really doesn't sit right with me. On top of that, I truly can't believe that Fury actually agreed on bringing the Harvest to Gravik, that makes no sense considering how dangerous it is. I'm excited to see the repercussion of this series going forward, but I can't imagine it being more than a throwaway line here and there for continuity reasons because I don't see the MCU committing to the whole "are they human or a Skrull?" until the Skrulls find a new home (if that's even the plan anymore, but it doesn't look like it). So yeah... I guess Rhodey was replaced after Civil War? He has a lot of catching up to do. This show has lowkey left more questions than the ones that answered, I wish they put in at least a post credit scene. 1
