Olivia's character is a delight but she hasn't had much screentime yet. I personally would skip it if you're not feeling the MCU currently

Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 (edited) We all know she ain’t dead😆 I’m curious what method they will use to revive her? Or if that was just another Skrull working for her that took her face. Or will they really go down the resurrection route, and that’s how we get Hill back🤔 Update; the Director came out today and publicly said there are No suprise cameos in the show💀 well there goes any avenger cameo theory’s. I was thinking she might have self-healing/regeneration powers, like Gravik with his hand after that meeting with Talos (how she got them, though ). She also would be dumb not to be wearing some sort of bulletproof vest (to at least make the wound less mortal), given that she saw what happened to Brogan lol. What doesn't make sense, though, is why Gravik didn't even bother to check she was dead or shoot her multiple times to be sure. I guess we're going with the reliable trope of "the supervillain's hubris was his downfall" 1

Lovett Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 Emilia isn't dead, we've seen plenty more scenes of her in trailers that haven't aired yet. 1

I don't think she'd fit in with the tone of this show 9 hours ago, MrLovett said: Emilia isn't dead, we've seen plenty more scenes of her in trailers that haven't aired yet. I really hope she is dead, I'm tired of Marvel doing death fakeouts and as for her being in the trailers, the show is literally about shapeshifters, that could be anyone lol 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 (edited) Yeah I’ve just come to accept the we won’t get cameos or Internet breaking Revelations until the finale. I’ll just enjoy Nick fury’s story. But it is a missed opportunity cuz right now only hardcore Marvel fans are watching😭like the marketing should have at least try to make this a bigger deal. There's trailer footage of her essentially being given her powers. I'd put money on it in the next episode we see her healing, because she's already a super skrull. 1
Katy V.! Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 Olivia looks so out of place in this. A bunch of actors phoning it in with terrible script and cheap direction and then every time she's on screen she elevates the whole thing. Pretty much sums up Marvel D+ shows. (With Wanda, Kamala and Kate trying to hold their shows together)

I don't think she'd fit in with the tone of this show Idk, I could still see her showing up, it would just... not make much sense? Fury definitely knows she exists. assuming him and Coulson were staying in touch after the events of AoS s1, he probably also knows she has powers. but since Fury's been in space for a long time, she'd have to be stationed there as well (would kinda makes sense taking the end of AoS into account even though that was a completely different timeline from this current one lol). or maybe Fury has a full team of Secret Warriors running around on Earth that we don't know of OR the Daisy Johnson of this main MCU continuity is a variant (most plausible) and she could just show up as a new character, possibly as a member of Secret Warriors. well, new to the wider audience and a nod to us AoS ftans. just trying to think of possible scenarios, though I don't think she'll show up at all this show is kinda weird so far when I think about it. it seems very grounded and small-scaled, even though it's dealing with literal alien invasion with worldwide consequences lol 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Most entertaining episode yet. Helped by the action finally ramping up. And the revelations… tho they were kinda obvious. I was hoping it was more red herring and parionia, but they seem to really go the basic route. Samuel L. Jackson and Rohdey scenes have been the hilight of this series so far! Spoiler Talos Dying😭 but I don’t know why he didn’t just take the end of a gun to break the window💀😆or kicked it in. Also all this soldiers with automatic weapons just staring at gravik killing him. Hahaha Giah finally got more than 2 speaking lines. Guess y’all were right about her becoming a SuperSkrull! We knew she wasn’t dead cuz there were tons of scenes of her in the trailer. overall a great episode. Still some slow parts with Fury and his ex-wife. They speak so slow and take 10 minutes to do anything. But everything else had me engaged
KFC Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Yawn. I was happy to see some more action but this is the THIRD episode out of four that ends with a main character dying. Really lazy writing
andresg770 Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 OK Emmy voters, if y'all gave Don Cheadle a Guest Actor nomination for TFATWS, then he BETTER get one for this show
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 (edited) Secret invasion started trending worldwide today! I was wondering why now, 2 days after the episode. So I went through the hashtags and apparently people are starting to watch and binge it now also a couple memes are getting millions of views and likes. Edited July 14, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
Rep2000 Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 Who wanna bet that by the end of the series, Emilia character would just go Super Saiyan on Gravik and kill him, then restore the status quo by becoming the new General? I kinda see why they cast her now.
WildAmerican Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 this is really like 30% of a good show. Some moments are GREAT but most of the eps are pretty boring...
BoyLikeYouSuxx Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 This show is such a slow burn and I can’t believe the big reveal of the show is war machine being a skrull At least that beloved poem was cute
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Marvel should have only 3 Disney+ series in total. And just make them have multiple seasons, with 22 Episodes. one Show that focuses on Street level, Cosmic, & Magic. Daredevil could have episodes that bring in street level characters, with overarching plots. Wandavision should have been the single show with multiple seasons that brining in mystical and supernatural characters and Storylines. Loki should have been the single show that touched on cosmic and multiverse themes and stories. I rather have 3-5 shows in total then have 20 different tv shows with 6-9 episodes 😭 cuz it makes series like this that are slow for 80% of the time really stand out bad. If this was just a plot thread for a season in one of those 3 shows it would probably be better executed. Marvel really needs a new Joss Whedon level show runner to oversee production across the board for Disney+ series. That way they can allocate budgets better, get better production sets and costumes, and have stronger tv writers that rivial thier competitors on other streaming services.
