Gorjesspazze9 Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 (edited) The Skrull metaphor and Fury directly stating that Humanity won’t tolerate another species on Earth is Kevin Fiege planting the seeds for the Mutants. Not being accepted by your skin color (Skrulls) and discrimination of diversity (MutantKind) is like the main concept of X-Men. 💁♀️ a lot of minorities & LGBTQ individuals have to hide thier true self or assimilate into a society just to feel at home. This would be the perfect opportunity for Marvel to start that social storytelling. Spoiler I believe the series will progressively expose Skrulls to the world and cause public panic. Causing hysteria about superpower beings within thier social circles & Families. This could change the public opinion about Avengers being celebrities. And would make the mutant scare more realistic. Also a good way to keep Skrulls relevant within the MCU moving forward. Edited June 29, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
mokitsu Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 The writing and dialogue are just not up to par to what the show presents itself to be. It feels like the CW version of a spy thriller. Olivia Colman, however, is a scene stealer in this role. Please bring Andor back and never compare it to this show again

There was one continuity issue that really annoyed me though - Hide contents They made a point of showing Sonya placing the metal bar over the hook on the door, so that they couldn't open the door from the outside. However when the Skrulls burn through the hinges, the door just falls outwards and both the hook and bar are nowhere to be seen. What was the point in making her do it if it wasn't going to be relevant at any point? Noticed that too and I was like Also her not even bothering to close the escape tunnel's entrance
Airhead Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 I enjoyed both episodes, I wish I could binge this. 1
KFC Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Spoiler I'm sorry, Fury being married to a Skrull is so gross to me
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 (edited) Spoiler Watching Agents of shield recently and seeing their version of Secret invasion. but instead of Skrulls it’s Kree centric and Hydra Double Agents. It be a really big miss opportunity to not connect them in some way🤯 especially since Kree & Skrull war events is the cause of Captain Marvel in the first place🤦♀️I’ll dail back my expectations of cameos and references . But the writing needs to be more consistent. like Coulson and Quake are the only 2 logical people Fury would trust more then even his Avengers. He has experience Shield literally being destroyed by lies and manipulation and gave Coulson his job. And Quake is literally more powerful than half the avengers. And hey have faced threats similar and worse than Skrulls🤷♀️ also the new leak says 4 Avengers will show up in the season finale. But wouldn’t that defeat the point of why he said in episode 2? The only logical help he could have in this situation is Quake & Coulson who have the resources and power to fight off a Skrull invasion. It should have been Fury’s first thought. Anyways I am still enjoying the show but after watching AOS, the spy stuff don’t compare 💀 like come on Marvel, you have double the budget and can easily get these actors to work again. We need more than just revelations and cameos, but actual conviction and consequences. Episode 2 was way better then the first, so here is to hoping today’s episode is better! They should have hired the writers from the LMD arc because the paranoia I felt from watching that was what I expected from Secret Invasion. Unfortunately we haven't gotten that yet I'm still enjoying the show regardless and my bussy is quaking in anticipation of the next few episodes 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 (edited) 😴severely underwhelming. Very Talos centric episode. Best part was him reminding Fury that the Skrulls lowkey helped him on being director of Shield. Funnier than last episode. But the main threat of the episode felt very rushed. The ending was so abrupt and random too who edited this. 5/10 Spoiler We know giah ain’t dead. And Super Skrulls are coming. I wish they focused more on that plot then all the unecessary drawn out scenes in the beginning of the Ep. Talos and Fury bonding kinda carried this episode. The secondary characters are boring and gravik’s only good scene this whole show was Talos stabbing his hand. Hopefully next episode Super Skrulls do something. They seem to have dropped the whole paranoia aspect of the show. Skrulls feel super boring, even Hydra had more personality and threatening. Edited July 5, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 (edited) Also the marketing for this show has completely died it’s the Fourth of July weekend and they didn’t think to utilize that with some sorta patriotic promo to get more people to stream🤦♀️ Especially since this episode is about preventing WW3 and protecting a nation’s independence. like at least try Disney Edited July 5, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
Hephaestus Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I actually enjoyed this episode, the twists at the end had me a little shook. 1

I was expecting a major reference today. Edited July 5, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 (edited) Skrulls really do run deep. Secret invasion is now Trending! Seems people enjoy this episode more than me from the tweets. Edited July 5, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
Nicholai Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Another episode i liked a lot. So Rhodey is a skrull confirmed. I just need to know when he was changed. 1

Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I hope Rohdey is just a red Herring. It be way to obvious if he is the major Skrull reveal of the show.

I haven't seen any leaks or spoilers for this show (minus the rumored Quake cameo which always seemed too good to be true), but at this point I won't be surprised if Fury is a skrull edit: though that wouldn't be that much of a gag, we already saw him as a skrull in FFH and it was implied in this episode that there might've been more switcheroos happening in the past Edited July 5, 2023 by ainadalkaz 1

KFC Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 I'm really enjoying the interactions between characters (Rhodey and Fury, Talos and Fury, Fury and his wife) but this series is missing the PARANOIA for me. The Skrulls can literally take the form of anyone but most of them stay in one form for 90% of each episode I really hate when the immersion is broken but it's clearly a budget issue. not to mention that I CANNOT STAND ANOTHER WEEK WITHOUT QUAKE. i'm still liking the show so far but it's a huge disappointment for me. 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 (edited) Captain America a Skrull? That looks like Sam Wilson🤯 Just a theory that’s why I’m not putting this in spoiler tags. But omg what if Gravik has Cap already and gives the Skrull version the SuperSkrull formula Edited July 6, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
publikcitizen Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 Watching this... I am kinda lowley annoyed with Fury and Carol for not fulfilling their promises to these skrulls. I am surprised they didn't try to get Brie for the show. 1
boys Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 I will always hate the lack of attention Marvel paid to AoS. That cast gave better performances and character development than Marvels major stars do in these films. 1

I think Fitz & Simmons would work well with the MCU 😭 the romantic relationship in Marvel movies is severely lacking compared to them. Also Hope Daisy meets Shang-chi or Kamala eventually. Also Coulson should be in secret invasion🤦♀️ like he has dealt with this type of thing multiple times and should have been Fury’s first call other than Carol. I agree, Joss whedon was in his bag with AOS. And I wish marvel acknowledged them more Edited July 7, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
Bey'Knight Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Is this any good? I’m a bit over the MCU atm tbh. Only considering for Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman.
