Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Yeah Episode 4 is so well produced. Max is a LegendThe ending edits served so hard, I cried. Just finished episode 7 and this was everything I wanted. It served all around. But I wish they gave Joyce more to do, since she was the standout of season 1. Also will and Mike have become so boring and cliche. The new characters are fun and don’t distract too much from the OG Gang. Steve is still a hot babysitter King. We forever Stan. Overall this is my 2nd favorite season. Season 1 is practically impossible to surpass for me. I hope the finale lives up to the hype.
Eóghan Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 reasons why episode 4 is THAT BISH - that insane one long-shot gun fight scene at the Cali house - that Hail Mary speech Robin gave. did she even take a breath? I was so captivated I couldn't tell - the entire Victor Creel reveal and his terrifying flashbacks - i don't think I took a breath Max's entire running sequence. and listening to Kate Bush also makes me levitate, so I can totally relate! - 3 horror movie references in 1 ep: Alien, Silence of the Lambs and Freddy Krueger? - the Nintendo/Duck Hunt comeback by queen erica. don't change queen! - did i mention "Running Up The Hill" by Kate Bush?

Now that's tea. One of the best episodes of the entire franchise I fear.
ATRL Moderator Bloo Posted May 28, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted May 28, 2022 I just finished it. Spoiler The PLOT twists in the last episode. Omg. I started to guess that that guy was Number One. But then it’s shown he’s the son of the haunted house and was behind the murders which is why he was sent to the lab for study. Then we find out Elle legit created Vecna?! Whewwwww, lotta information to unpack! The Russia storyline was lagging a bit but the payoff was amazing when Joyce and Hopper reunite. I agree that Will is underused. All in all, this season was amazing so far and has such a grand view for the story. It genuinely feels like the show is pacing its way to a natural close. I think the Duffer brothers said they might have one more season after this to end the show and that feels right. I also really loved the investigation into the killings in Hawkins. I love the character interactions. Nancy and Robin becoming friends is especially enjoyable. Most importantly, volume 1 felt like a holistic experience. It wrapped up a big chunk of the story so that I’m very satisfied with everything until volume 2 is dropped. It didn’t rely on big cliffhangers to make the wait to volume 2 obnoxious. Very well done.
ATRL Moderator Bloo Posted May 28, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted May 28, 2022 Episodes 4 and 7 were the standouts. Universal acclaim I fear. Episode 7 being a full ass movie was an experience. Omg I still can’t get over it.
Staryu Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Wow episode 4, the chills and emotions so glad Max didn't die, Sadie is so good, I really thought it was gonna end with her death

That famous shot of Max floating at the ceremony was burned in my head going into the season. So when that Chrissy girl was lifted into the air and violently killed, my brain cells were like…. Wait…! I was thinking that she might die well before episode 4 and I was getting so upset the whole time…. The tone of the episode did a fantastic job of also giving you the impression that Max didn’t have plot armor per se. I genuinely felt scared we’d lose her. The writers just did a good job at planting that seed imo
Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 The only major problem with this season that’s keeping it from being better then season 1. Spoiler Is that Hopper/Joyce Russian plot line. Hopper is literally beaten to a pulp nearly every episode but can still walk and fight?? Joyce and Murray surviving a plane crash and breaking into a military base with just one pistol and Karate??? like I get we need hopper back, but I rather we had a more realistic way to free him. also Will is the 2nd most important person in this series. He started the show, has more connections with the upside-down then anyone other then El, ect. And yet his only screen time is filler conversations with Mike? They resolve the bestie tension so quick. Will probably will be possessed again since it’s crucial to his role. Other then that, the show still finds inventive ways to make the cast relevant and usefulness.
Mirrorcle Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Dang I was never a fan of Steve but he served this season.

chris1991 Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Just started and they are soooo grown! Also so many characters intros in like the first 30 I’m also kind of lost, been so many years since the last season.
ATRL Moderator Bloo Posted May 28, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted May 28, 2022 Also… (ep. 7 spoiler) Spoiler The Demogorgon was VICIOUS this season. Holy hell, it never felt that intimidating to me in Season 1. Just a thing that walked around and ate things. You never really saw it be that vicious and much of its movements were very “human” I feel. This season it just felt like an absolute monster. The scene where you see it feasting off someone’s face and their flesh is being shredded…. Whewww, they really made it a terrifying monster this season.
publikcitizen Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Just finished binging this season. So annoying we have to wait until July 1 to get the last two episodes… like why?! To not spoil anything, this season is really great. It’s very different from the past seasons of ST though as it doesn’t follow the typical format. This season reminds of how GOT was done with multiple stories and locations. So this season feels more expansive. I really loved… Spoiler Seeing all of the other # kids and what happened to them. The twist with #001 being Vecna was so well built up and revealed. Jamie Campbell Bower did a really good job with that scene. I wonder if he was corrupted by the mind flayer once he was in the upside down. Spoiler So I’m guessing Will has feelings for Mike? It seems to kind of subtly hint at that? And the way Will stares at Mike reinforce that. Spoiler Joyce continue to be the world’s worst parent lol. She has no idea what has happened back home. Mess. Release the last two episodes already please Netflix!
slik Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Just finished How am I supposed to wait until July!?!? The last 20 minutes or so of the finale of Part 1 were INSANE.

Chromatica Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 On episode 6 rn and the whole Russia stuff is so boring like where are they goin with it and for what
Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 (edited) Episode 4 & 7 are some of the best episodes of the entire series. After re-watching again both those episodes encapsulates what makes Stranger Things such a Phenomenon. Spoiler I think one of the main characters is gonna die in the finale. We had 2 major Fake-Outs with Max and Steven this season. Hopper would seem like the obvious choice, but I think it would be more impactful if one of the kids die. Like Mike, Will, Dustin or Lucas. It would be shocking Edited May 28, 2022 by Gorjesspazze9

It would be shocking Spoiler Then killing off Will seems too believable if they’re killing off a kid. I think Eddy is going to die though. This season doesn’t have an obvious Barb/Bobby/Alexei character. So maybe they might just go with killing a main character. I don’t think it’ll be Hopper. It would be way too much of an ass pull to bring him back just to kill him again. No one would be here for it.
Brunette Ambition Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Spoiler The plot amor is so annoying it really takes me out. I loved the ending of ep 4, but because it looked great, not because I thought for a minute max would die. Then the thing with Steve and those bats happened and I thought maybe we’ll have one important death for once, but alas not to mention hopper and Joyce. I fast forwarded all of it after I realized they are taking the whole season for the rescue. should have just let hopper die last season.
