Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Can we talk about how El, Max and Lucas were the power trinity this volume
Buffy Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 So, about that person who is still alive. Spoiler I think Max is still alive but her soul, or her essence, has been absorbed by Vecna. Perhaps once Vecna dies her soul will be released back to her body.

Vespertine Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Sadie Sink talent Sadie Sink ATW10MVTVFTV and RUTH #1 That is all I have to say!
TayDine1989 Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Spoiler I think El or someone will save Max's soul inside Vecna's mind dimension. Thats the only way the UD gate to the real world will be closed since it needs 4 souls, right? I also think they will need to free the 3 other souls ala Harry Potter horcrux. And with that, Vecna's soul wont have a physical body and sooo, it will cling to Will Byers. Then here comes El vs Will. Then the power of friendship and love etc etc. About Max and S5

I’m disturbed how many people Spoiler are rooting for one of the kids to die though This isn’t GOT. It would be too depressing to watch S5 if any of the main kids died, even if Mike is annoying. Not before the series finale. I can Steve biting the bullet by the end unfortunately. He and his tight jeans deserve better though :’(

Thinking Of You Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Spoiler It should’ve ended with the people of Hawkins freaking out after the ‘earthquake’ and of course that final scene of the main characters looking at what’s to come. It should’ve been the same night. They should have never showed Max in the hospital. They should’ve kept her survival a secret until the next season.
Billionaire Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 So much to take in omg...the scene with Lucas holding Max in his hands as she dies...so sad what the hell
Beyonnaise Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 (edited) So is Coconut Head confirmed gay or not (haven't watched I'm on vacation nn!) Edited July 2, 2022 by Beyonnaise

Stuart Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Once again, I had to skip the entire Joyce/Hopper plot but apart from that, it was good.

Folklore89sm Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 So many conflicting feelings. Spoiler Even though I don’t care about Eddie, his death was absolutely pointless. Deciding to jump out of the van and get on his bike to be chased and killed by the bats made no sense. He wasn’t a hero. He was just stupid. That was terrible writing. Stupid suicide. If they wanted him dead, they should have come up with something a bit less stupid. Also does anyone apart fromDustin even know he’s dead. That 2 day time jump was cheap.

Hurem Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 The way my jaw dropped when Max's elbow snapped. I was legit gagged. They should've killed her but also milk that moment much more. I did like when she talked to Lucas about not feeling anything, it got me teared up. Dustin talking to Eddie's uncle had me bawling my eyes out. Top notch acting.

I like how Vecna is basically the reason it all started in ST1, but I can't see them giving it another flip and making Will more tied to the UD than what we know. I don't know if it's that mysterious, I think it was implied that it's because that's the day Eleven touched the Demogorgon and opened the gate, which immediately led to the Demogorgon going after Will. Maybe there will be something about how time doesn't pass in the Upside Down, though

Maybe there will be something about how time doesn't pass in the Upside Down, though Time does pas in the UD, in fact it passes at the same speed as in our world, and the Duffer brothers have already confirmed that this question is a big deal in season 5 (Variety interview iirc) I get that you are just connecting the dots, and it might be the answer, but we just need to see how that plays into the mythology of the show and in tying up the story

The Next Day Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 It's kinda rare for me to actually cry because of shows, but damn, Chapter 9 just destroyed me. This show has way too much power over me, to think I only started watching it in June... I agree the pacing in the last 30 minutes was odd, but whew did it pay off with the final scene. Spoiler Ok, first of all, the scene with dead Max, Lucas and Eleven watching them really destroyed me, I couldn't bear it. I don't think Eddie's death was pointless. He was successful in buying time for the trio. I was a bit bothered by the total lack of explanation why the Soviet prison had all the creatures and parts of the Mind Flayer in the first place, but ****... it did made for a hell of a scene with Eleven, Hopper and the UD trio fighting side by side. Nancy really unleashed her beast mode. I love her character development going from swimming with the crowd in the beginning of S1 to becoming a badass leader of the underdogs. Hopefully S5 will continue her arc this way. I was kinda confused by the spin the bottle scene at the end, what was that supposed to mean? I also expected the destruction of Hawkins to be the cliffhanger, the scenes dealing with the aftermath of the destruction did feel inorganix. However, the scene of Will revealing to Mike that Vecna is alive was worth it. I really had shivers and wanted Will to stop talking because OMG! That was pure horror although nothing too scary happened. Just talking. And finally, I am so happy we're left with the most badass cliffhanger that redeemed the post earthquake scenes. I'm really glad cause the way they set up the imminent danger to Hawkins means they cannot pull the "Everything is going great" first episode of the season-scheme, which got boring by S3. No, this time, they will have to face the huge problem right from the beginning and I'm gagging thinking about it. Plus this scene was so beautiful from start to finish. The build-up was perfect, you knew from the moment Will recognized the UD's presence and the alternative ST theme started playing that **** was about to hit the fan. All the different characters facing the ultimate threat, the UD finally starting to take over our dimension, whew, what a moment. The ending scene on the hill, with Eleven leading the group, that was just the best ending I could've wished for. It really sets the tone that the endgame has begun.
