Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 (edited) If we ever get a Spin-Off Called Strangest Things Spoiler Where it’s 1998 and the show starts off mimicking 90’s teen tv shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer & That 70’s Show. Mixed with Horror film classics like Scream. Where a group of teens in Hawkins uncover the history of stranger things, and every episode they have to fight monsters from the upside down. But they use 90’s nostalgia and pop culture references instead. And The survivors of the original stranger things kids become thier guardians. Edited May 30, 2022 by Gorjesspazze9
Godly Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 I feel like S4 could end on a big cliffhanger and not have a neat resolution like the past seasons, and if that's the case there shouldn't be any time jump going into the final season. They've been advertising this season as the beginning of the end, after all. Also hopefully this means that for S5 they go right back to the beginning and have all the characters oriented towards the same goal right away, the same way they were when Will was missing, without splitting them up into groups like they've done lately
Eóghan Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 only the 3rd show of all time to pass 1 million ratings on IMDb kinda iconic move

hardbrit Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 This season has been the BEST! Minus the California story line
Severus Snape Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Are we using spoilers on this thread or do we have to hide them??? Just finished 407 I can finally read this thread and go on twitter and YouTube, IM SHAKING my theories were RIGHT

Severus Snape Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 I don't think Nancy dies, it would be such a dumb move to kill the only (aside from El now) person who knows the truth about Vecna. And if they actually killed her they would have shown it right at the end of 407, I don't think they are killing her on 408. My guess is that Steve will kiss her just like max was saved with the music.
Severus Snape Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Dear Billy was a great episode but I just knew max wasn't going to die bc on the trailer she appeared alive on the Creel house which they hadn't visited yet on 404. I wish they hadn't shown that shot on the trailers so we would have been on the edge of our seats praying for Max the entire episode. I cried when Hopper reunites with Joyce. Murray has been my favourite this season again, such a charismatic character. Wishing Erika joins the gang once and for all on Volume II, why did they even send her on all the press tours?

Yeah there are many rumours that the upside down wins on the last episode of this season. They also started shooting ST5 right after the last episode of this one right? The duffers also pointed out that this is the darkest season on many levels, maybe meaning that this one doesn't have a positive outcome? So far episode seven has had a great payoff with Hoper and Joyce reuniting, the group in hawking almost reuniting, mike getting the codes and the revelation of 001.

Gosh I think the Will-as-the-main-next-villain arc is gonna happen since him, Jonathan, and Joyce didn't do anything its really interesting that the Upside Down is set in Nov 6th 83 instead of 1979 (when El sent Vecna to the Upside Down). It feels like the upside down was created to fit Will and how every villain is a character from D&D, his favourite game. That would also explain why the duffer brothers are trying to make El and Will enemies. And somehow Vecna seems to be autonomous from the Mind Flayer??

TheCheshireCat Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 (edited) Going off the theories above about Will: I genuinely think he is the big bad now. There are a few reasons: Plot wise: - He loves DnD and doesn't want to let go/grow up, he got super resentful when people wanted to stop playing, every bad guy has been a DnD character come to life, what if he wants to keep playing forever or something? He is making the game "real" somehow. - He has a connection to the upside down and its frozen around the time he went "missing". Storytelling wise: - He currently has nothing to do and neither does Joyce, and I doubt they will send either of them on another fetch quest, so him getting set up as the big bad would be a great use of everyone's talents as all the main characters can have emotional moments playing off of him. - They wont have to set up another big bad since we already have two, one scary humanoid, one big cloud of smoke, like honestly what else can they really do? Having the big bad be someone we've known since episode 1 is iconic. Edited May 31, 2022 by TheCheshireCat
Gerardo Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Just finished it The plot twist was great even tho I sort of saw it coming some storylines were so slow tho the Team Alaska rescuing Hopps was dragged out a lot tbh, but I get why however… Mike, Jhonatan and Will did NOTHING this season I hope that in Vol 2 or season 5 they’re done with splitting them in groups, they also did the same thing in S3 but at least in that one they were all together in the end Also I feel like the whole plot of Chrissy’s boyfriend looking for Eddie could’ve been eliminated and would’ve made the season better Id still say this the best season so far, or tied with S3, 407 is probably the best episode in the show and one of the best in modern TV history

Omg Yes Spoiler Especially the idea of Will never wanting to grow up, and how his connection to the upside down and the Mind Flayer play a major part of the show. Interesting how the first episode is called the disappearance of will Byers and starts with the kids playing D&D.

I kind of appreciated it just because it was a bit comical with how insane religious people often look — especially in recent years. It was crazy but I could totally see that kinda speech happening today and going viral. On another note, I'm curious to see how Eddy's going to be redeemed (if at all) within Hawkins.
