publikcitizen Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 This season was set up in a similar narrative manner that you would see on GOT. Multiple plot lines, different locations, and long episodes. I think ST benefited from using this format to tell the story it needed to. Yeah I get that this season is very different from the past three seasons. It’s actually kind of reminiscent of The Empire Strikes Back/The Last Jedi where the characters are split up in dark times. I think that’s why this season feels more refreshing and interesting to watch.
Digitalism Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 (edited) Spoiler This is probably the best season. On par with the first. I agree that some characters are not necessary anymore though Edited May 29, 2022 by Digitalism
ATRL Moderator Bloo Posted May 28, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted May 28, 2022 Spoiler If a main character is going to die this season, my vote is for Jonathan. Being Nancy’s boyfriend is the only notable thing he does at this point and her and Steve are a much more enjoyable pair with sharper chemistry.
Totami Legend Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 If they kill off the boring unused characters It will be uneventful anyway cause we had no emotions attached to them since at least Season 3.

mitochondria23 Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Just finished episode 2. So far, I’m really enjoying it.
zaso Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 finished ep 4 and this is the best season after the first one. i love that they finally adding more horror elements 51 minutes ago, publikcitizen said: This season was set up in a similar narrative manner that you would see on GOT. zaso Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 the ending of ep 4 though the only show that still can deliver emotions, max's actress did an amazing job

I'd rather just read the spoilers for that episode. I didn’t know people watch tv like this. I mean I guess I understand. Still kinda strange

I have no issues with long episodes as long they’re good and well written. That’s fair I guess. But El’s storyline is the most important in the show, that’s like the whole point of the show??

Still kinda strange I only watch every episode and avoid the spoilers if I am really a die hard fan of the TV show like Breaking Bad or Barry. Otherwise, I won't bother to watch one by one if the plot is not that interesting or if I am not satisfied with how the show progresses.
illia Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 (edited) Episode 7 is the BEST episode of the season. The reveals omg Jonathan and WIll are so useless, they literally did nothing this season (especially Jonathan) I hope Nancy does the right thing and goes for the superior man (Steve), they clearly have something going on between them. I also can't wait to see that painting Will made, they've been teasing it for a while so it's definitely going to have some importance I kinda liked 001 when he wanted to help El but after seeing everything he did to these kids and his final speech... and the reveal of him being THE Vecna... I was SHOCKED. Very well made The CGI when 001 was falling in the Upside Down was terrible though They had 50 dollars, a green screen and a dream Listening to "Russian" guards speaking Russian with their fake-аss accents was so funny Well they tried their best I'll give them that! + Enzo seems like a really cool character. Deep inside I hope he and Hopper will remain friends but it's just my fantasies All in all, the season is good and enjoyable, Top 2 of the whole show I think S3 remains THAT girl! Nicholai Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Also... Did they hint at Steve being infected or something at the end or it was my imagination?

In the trash cause the gp didn’t like them and this is a fan service show after all Observation about Robin: Spoiler She was so cringe to push the Steve/Nancy narrative. It removed all the charm of their scenes together. She ruined the surprise. I wanted to see Nancy getting closer to Steve without Robin make it obvious episodes before idk Also: what happened to this girl? They showed her for 1 minute and disappeared this season a mess the pandemic really got them

The stuff with the other numbers and the experiments we saw were in 1979 before eleven escaped. The nina project is basically eleven in a giant bathtub and theyre showing her surveillance tapes of things that happened. And theyre also her memories before she broke out in 83
