Donquizote Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 389M opening GP don't care about critics me thinks.
mystery Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 (edited) This was alright. I think it was an improvement over Fallen Kingdom (which I absolutely hated) so I don't understand the worse reviews. It is a serviceable movie, it definitely takes some time to get going but once it does it is nice. The entire Malta chase sequence was a standout and I loved the omission of background music, it made the scene even more thrilling in a way. When it comes to box office I think it will do alright, people will always be here for dinosaurs and there are some amazing sequences in the movie that satisfy that portion of the audience. I think this franchise can definitely do better considering the high level the first film had, if they take a few years off, recalculate and then come back with an amazing tight script I think there is potential there to surpass the gross of the first Jurassic World. fridayteenage Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 (edited) billionaires with outright bad reviews (red on metacritic): transformers age of extinction none at $900-$99 mil. looks like this will form an exclusive duo. Edited June 12, 2022 by fridayteenage
ctlp27 Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 The contrast between Top Gun 2 (how to succeed in making a sequel blockbuster) and this one is devastating. Was Pratt even a lead on this one? It's so dumb it's not even funny. What a waste of a new trilogy (not counting why would you bring back the OG trio for this... storyline?).
MadonnasBoyfriend Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 (edited) Just came back and i Loved it!! It was really well done and the story was really unique and different from the rest! Shocked at how the OGs kinda took over and pushed the new cast to the side a bit. Actually is was pretty equal in screen time from the old and new cast. It was so dope seeing the dinos in different locations ugh im so slayed. I went to be scared of dinos and thats exactly what happened! Whooooo this was great. I urge you all to form your own opinions! It was so good Edited June 13, 2022 by MadonnasBoyfriend
Whis Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 The Atrociraptors in Malta sequence The Therizinosaurus reveal paired with that ominous music Claire being the best character of the Jurassic World movies Kayla being the first LGBTQ+ character in the Jurassic Franchise
BNF91 Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Weekend numbers increased by $2M after Sunday saw a very nice -17% drop to $38.5M (just $300k off of Doctor Strange 2's opening Sunday despite the opening Friday being a $30M gap) $145M opening weekend.

ATRL Moderator Bloo Posted June 18, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted June 18, 2022 I’m the theater waiting for the movie to come on. Hoping it’s decent. EDIT: This didn’t feel like a definitive conclusion to the franchise like they advertised. I’m expecting future sequels. I’m hoping there aren’t. On first impression, it’s slightly better than Fallen Kingdom. But it was pretty redundant as a whole.
nathanspears Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 It was... okay. It was pretty much what I was expecting. It was starting to get a little bored with dinosaur chases towards the end and just wanted it to finish. I like the nostalgia though, it's cute
BNF91 Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 For all the talk of toxic WOM, it only had a 60% drop in the 2nd weekend. Not terrible at all.
mystery Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 (edited) This just might have a slight shot at 1b? Japan is yet to open. Japan gross: Jurassic Park - 120m The Lost World: Jurassic Park - 85m Jurassic World - 74m Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - 72m Jurassic Park III - 41m Edited July 18, 2022 by mystery
BNF91 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 1B will be a nailbiter. It's got about $35M left in the tank from remaining markets. Japan has the potential for anywhere from $40-70M. It will be super close either way.

And MESS at them releasing it on Digital I- If it doesn't get to 1 billion, it will be the first one of the franchise to NOT make that.

Hurem Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 I'm shocked at the horrible word of mouth this movie got. I thought it was very fun (especially first two thirds). CGI was out of this world, though some jump cuts were questionable for such high budget film. Hope we get to see more sequels
Drowned8World Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 those who said it was like a Fast Furious movie with dinosaurs were right. The whole plot of the movie is about that annoying girl and the dinosaurs are just a coincidence to be in there. The concept of having dinosaurs living with humans and wild animals was interesting but they decided to do a mission impossible movie instead.
Sweetestsecret Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 (edited) https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt8041270// $984.7M .. It's struggling to reach 1 Billion....they will release an extended cut on Peacock ... They should release the extended version in theatres, not on streaming... Arcadius Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 I mean if they just keep it in theaters it’ll eventually hit 1B.
Sweetestsecret Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Extended version on streaming https://collider.com/where-can-i-stream-jurassic-world-dominion-extended-edition/
Power love Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 This movie was soo bad wow. It reminded me of tomb raider with dinosaurs!
