JGibson Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 This thread features the happenings of the 2021-22 NFL season, including the draft, preseason, regular season, and the playoff run to the Super Bowl. If you are a fan of the NFL, who do you root for? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl over the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the first season that the NFL will adopt a 17-game regular season, meaning that the preseason will be reduced to 3 games and the playoffs will get pushed back a week and the Super Bowl will now be on the 2nd Sunday in February. The previous season saw lots of games rescheduled due to COVID outbreaks, but the schedule was able to be completed. The previous NFL season was the first season that the Washington Football Team no longer went by its racist nickname and the final season that the NFL schedule was 16 games. It was also the first season to have a 14-team NFL playoff (7 per conference), which meant that the 2nd seed in each conference no longer got the 1st-round bye. This upcoming season is likely to see stadiums returning to full capacity (or at least closer to that), as vaccinations rates will continue to go up. As for mask-wearing, that may very well be still a thing, depending on the jurisdiction of the team's home stadium. Resources: NFL.com Standings (NFL.com) Schedules (NFL.com) ESPN.com (NFL) Yahoo!
