Just like someone took the worst traits of Gottmik and kick them into overdrive. i think it's beacuse they are so cocky and into themselfs (at least that's what producers are showing to us) I think they thought 'I'm gonna be just like Willow Pill, so artsy and weird, fans will love me, yeah" I don't really like her personality (drag race wise) but her talnt is there, she's creative and her drag style is amazing

That said, inclusivity should not guarantee you a trip to the finale when you are quite clearly not up to par. We saw it last season when Kimmi Couture brought a runway package that would’ve been booted off of most seasons and Jada Shada Hudson who also should’ve been gone long before. Last I checked, the slogan says “May the best drag queen win”. Carrying someone to the finale so they can take up a spot that easily could’ve gone to another contestant is an easy way to alienate the viewers. Kitten should’ve stayed and denim should’ve gone. While Melinda is good TV, she’s not polished enough to win the season. All Stars? Maybe. Venus does have some potential so I don’t want to totally discount her. She’s not the best but she’s not the worst. Denim is… Kiki slays the runways but that’s it. She’s great at what she does well. Everything else… not so much. Aurora is good and I think she has the stuff to make it far. She needs a little more time and knowledge to win but I think she possesses the potential. Nearah… idk. She’s a great performer and her fashion isn’t terrible but I think age and immaturity play a factor here. I’ve also noticed in other international franchises that they’re desperately looking for “first ___ winner” to make themselves somehow stand out in the oversaturated Drag Race world. It just cheapens the actual competition aspect of the show. 2

Sasha Colby was the first trans winner of a regular US season but she curb stomped that competition and won based on her own merit - not because it was handed to her. ALittleGauche Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 Just want to confirm: There are no spoilers for this season, correct? I don’t want to overanalyze everyone’s excessive hatred of Denim in fear that she might be the spoiled undeserving winner, and instead just chalk that up to her being truly annoying.

No one knows who wins. As far as I’m aware the top four has been all but confirmed but nothing is 100%
djcalpal Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 I am so seated for tonight's episode. I'm visiting family in Canada for Christmas so I can actually watch it live for once. Apparently the lip sync song is iconic.
Almodusa Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Yeah not surprised they kept her… Pretty fine episode
IlianVargas Posted December 29, 2023 Author Posted December 29, 2023 Mmm how did they win the lip-sync?...
Cheeky Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 The lipsync song is iconic if you're Canadian and happened to be alive in 2007/2008. It was a big hit in Canada at the time but I don't hear it much these days. The wrong person won the lipsync although they both sucked. I guess if the goal was to perform literally like a seven day fool then perhaps Denim winning was understandable, but Kiki seemed to capture the vibe of the song better. Nearah should have won the challenge in my opinion. The "we just saw this" critique was a bit bizarre considering she was likely following the choreography that was given to her. It's honestly not even a fair critique. 7 1
ALittleGauche Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Yeah that lip sync sucked. Honestly even the Rusical was very mediocre as evident by the tepid response from the judges. Even Aurora’s winning performance was met with words like “good” and “cool” from Brooke. I can understand why Neara didn’t win and I totally agreed with the judges. I hope this season can keep its momentum especially after the phenomenal episode last week.
Rigalo Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Was so scared Denim was getting a payola win with the edit so I’m glad that wasn’t the case! Also thought Kiki did better in the lipsync but I’m def biased the super cut of Nearah doing the same moves as last week sent me 5
Hector Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 I think Neerah did the best but didn't realize she basically copied some exact moves from last week. Glad Aurora won, her performance and runway were excellent. Venus was better than expected. Didn't expect Denim to win the lipsync (though I didn't think she was bad in the challenge). Kiki was the worst in the challenge though I think she did better in the lipsync. I think Aurora for now screams winner the most. I still hope Melinda doesn't win.
Puttanesca Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 How was Neerah even allowed to use her own moves? Wasn't the whole thing choreographed? 1 3
Scandalous Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 i’m not even a nearah stan but those critiques were stupid another rig for Dunham…
Rigalo Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Also the Bring Back My Girls for Canada S3 they were playing monkey in the middle with Kaos’ wig poor girl 1
loveisdead9582 Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Denim should’ve gone home. Again. She missed a decent amount of the words to the rusical and even a couple on the lip sync (although that could’ve been the edit). While I liked the runway, it wasn’t… enough. I also swear I saw something fall out of her wig during the lip sync. Melinda did well. The only comment I have is that the hat did make her seem more like grandmother of the bride than bridesmaid. Her makeup looked better this week though so I’ll give her that. Nearah was good. I kind of saw her face slip into “thinking mode” a couple of times but overall she did a good job. I think the critiques from the judges about it being what they just saw stemmed from Nearah being told specifically not to repeat everything she’s already done. Venus did alright in the challenge. I still think her face looked a bit frantic but her runway was amazing. Aurora… stunning. She did so well during the challenge. I think I clocked her real hair under the wig line in the back though during some of the challenge but she still nailed it. I like that she changes up her makeup too this week. Kiki was okay. Forgettable during the challenge aside from the flubs but her runway was amazing. She also gave us completely different makeup and a different character during her runway and I thought she did better in the lip sync. She should’ve stayed for another week. Unless they’re trying to discount denim, Kiki should’ve stayed for the makeover challenge. She probably would’ve won or at least placed high. Denim… idk what to say anymore. I’m ready for them to go home. It’s just not good enough and she has not done well enough in this competition or Turned it out enough to have that kind of attitude. 1

I thought she did quite well. There were a few wins of hers that could’ve easily gone to someone else but I think she also could’ve arguably won more challenges. I don’t think she really ever bombed a challenge (aside from the standup but I still don’t think she was the worst in that either). 1
paper moon Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 There is absolutely no way Denim won that lip sync 2
Dragonfly Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 the split screen of Nearah dancing, last week vs now if only Aurora had won; they could've given this win to Venus
NumbSoul Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Cute episode, though definitely not as strong as the last few. I'm an Aurora stan, so I'm happy she won. However, watching the Rusical I thought Nearah was by far the best, but when they showed her doing the exact same moves as last week, that changed things a bit... I think I still would've given it to Nearah this week (while Aurora should've won last week). Also, I didn't love Venus' performance that much... I thought she was still overdramatic and over-enunciating, so I'm surprised they praised her for it. For me she should've been safe or low, while Melinda should've been high. Her performance was great and her runway was solid too. The lipsync was very close tbh. I think I liked Kiki more, but it was close enough, where I can understand track record playing a part in who wins.
keerbyriri Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 I don't even like Kiki, but she obliterated Denim in that lip sync. had a feeling they'd rig it with that weird edit, couldnt make denim's win plausible no matter how hard they tried in post. there was no way she was getting out of this episode alive I guess wouldn't be mad with either Melinda or Venus taking the crown 4

Hahaha- you have my 109% word that I have not seen a single spoiler for this season, it’s just that denim truly is insufferable. 12 hours ago, djcalpal said: I am so seated for tonight's episode. I’m slightly familiar with the song, but I just thought it served really well for a lip sync. They should be more selective of the songs they choose for LYSFL, bc it can make or break the performance. this should have been aurora’s 3rd win honestly. She’s my pick to win overall. I still think Venus will win though. I think the Rusical overall was a little lukewarm so it was hard to give anyone a great performance opportunity 1
