The White Lotus | HBO | Season 3: Thailand

They could do a season with Jenifer that takes place before season 1 where her and her mother go to a white lotus resort and we see how awful her mother really was. It ends with the death of her mother and we see Jenifer packing her luggage and the gold box with her mothers ashes heading to The White Lotus in season 1.

Season 3 is heavily rumored for Tokyo

My guess is Greg does drugs and hallucinates Tonya coming to avenge him

I don't think a Tokyo setting would fit the show, however cool it might sound, I think Mike meant Middle East when he mentioned Asia, I felt like there was some subtext about oriental traditions in his mention of the theme of death for season 3, but maybe I read too much into it or misremembered.

Also, the avenge verb isn't correctly used here with Greg being the object of the sentence. You would avenge someone who has been wronged, not someone who is the wrongdoer. For example, Portia can avenge Tanya by taking revenge on Greg, but Tanya can't avenge Greg because he's the one who did her wrong in the first place. Avenging needs 3 subjects, revenge needs 2.

So Bali being the rumored next location was not true?

Season 3, I think, is a continuation of some S2 storylines. Like Tanya's death should definitely be addressed. If S3 will feature some of this, then I see Tanya coming back in some flashbacks.

They could also do a season that takes place in the past, like 10 years ago prequel style. With the success of the show and Mike and Jennifer’s strong friendship I can see it happening.

Tanya did say…

“I dreamt that i was on top of this beautiful mountain range in Asia and I had a cyanide pill”

Watch her leave it in her will and Greg has to go there before he can get her money.

Everything about season 1 was better. The suspense, the progression of the plot, the writing, the drama, Connie Britton >>>

Season 2 felt a bit slower, more stagnated. Something about it felt less dramatic and compelling than the previous season. Couldn’t care LESS about the triage of men looking for their Italian ancestors. They pissed me off almost every episode. Lucia’s plotline going nowhere was also irritating.

I saw on Twitter that it was confirmed season 3 was going back in time so Tanya would be included in the cast again? But I can’t find the confirmation anywhere.

There's no such confirmation, someone made that up.

Your screenshot proves you wrong bro. “Inflict harm on behalf of” and “inflict harm in return for”.

“Portia is inflicting harm to Greg on behalf of Tanya” -> “Portia is avenging Tanya”

”Portia is inflicting harm to Greg in return for what he did to Tanya” -> “Portia is avenging Tanya”

If you want to speak about avenging from Tanya’s perspective instead of Portia, then she is avenging herself:

“Tanya promised to take revenge on Greg for what he did to her” -> “Tanya promised to avenge herself after what was done to her”

No, it doesn't.

I said:

in other words, per my screenshot you referenced:

My guess is Greg does drugs and hallucinates Tonya coming to inflict harm in return for an injury or wrong done to ONESELF (ie, Tanya)

This is a very strange thing to get focused on, avenge essentially means making a wrong right, hence why it's used in all kinds of sayings like

"The Lakers hope to avenge last week's loss to the Spurs in this game tonight"

You are overthinking it.

All the blind items are saying S3 takes place in Kyoto and has a returning cast member

The right wording would have been: “My guess is Greg does drugs and hallucinates Tonya coming to avenge herself

What’s weirder is you understanding how the word is supposed to be used but still don’t see how you used it wrong. :stare:

Just finished watching season 1 and oh my god how much I loathe that ***** Paula.

I've known way too many entitled spoiled ******* like her who believe they're doing good by taking from someone who's just as entitled as them but they like to feel morally superior about their actions. :toofunny3: She's the real villain and the realest character to me as the others were an exaggerated version of how Americans "see" rich white people. :rip:

There were a good amount of bland moments and the character development was as basic and predictable as it gets.

Overall I really don't understand what the fuss about this show is all about.

That's what you got from season one?

I get it. I hated how the gays were portrayed in Season 2 because that who I identified with. At this point I feel like the show runner hates gays or himself.

Season 2 secretly had Ryan Murphy as an advisor and I refuse to be convinced otherwise.

Jennifer Coolidge has been doing press for her movie Shotgun Wedding (with J.Lo) that comes out January 27 on Prime Video. She talks quite a bit about White Lotus and wanting to be involved in future seasons here:

At this point I'm praying that Tanya didn't really die after falling from the boat & that her death is faked on purpose by the police in order to see how Greg reacts and catch him.

That doesn't really make much sense, we saw her die on screen
