Idk, I'm still processing, but I feel like Tanya's death was a bit anticlimactic. I guess that was the point, but I still feel like they could've given her a better (or funnier) sendoff.

 

The whole bit of her going crazy on the yacht and the shooting was brilliant tho. Jennifer ate that  give the Emmy again!

 

Daphne being the most fascinating character of the two couples storyline  love her

 

And we have no choice but to stan the Italian scammers  it's what these dumb men deserve.

Poor Tanya, not her accidentally dying right after taking out the gays one by one. I'm kinda mad about this.  Coolidge was a legend in this episode, that fake collectedness turning into a silly run... Though I imagine they just wanted to abduct her to "extort" money from Greg? But I guess it doesn't make a difference now.

Now THAT was a finale.  I was anxiety ridden for the majority of the episode. Loved the storylines for all of them and the entire boat sequence had me gagged. What a brilliant show.

Portia was HATED by all, loved by none; can't imagine even a paralell universe that has Mike White bringing her back for S3.

I actually like Portia. She is a character. And the actress who played her did an incredible job.

Great season finale even tho I expected another death from the main cast and not just the con guys

Really loved the season.

 

Really nice mix of everything from comedy, suspense, social commentary, audience interpretation.

 

Subtle plot of Daphene and Cameron child was chief kiss.  I hope the couple(with their children) appear in 3rd season, there is lot to explore ,they barely scratch the surface here.

 

Gonna miss Tanya in future seasons.

You gays do too much on Portia. Yes she is a mess but she is fun to hate on and not a bad character. Tanya made several very stupid decisions throughout the season, so it’s not really Portia’s fault she died. Plus jack pretty much told her she would die if she goes back to the hotel. 
 

Loves the ending, especially the Lucia girl boss moment 

 

I’m mostly dissatisfied with the couples storyline? Idk it didn’t say much to me lol.

Yep, he does. That last scene (and when they sit to have dinner with Ethan and Haper) was such a perfect frame how much they fake this perfect happy family/relationship. Really good.

I'm mostly happy my Italian girls made it out alive and scammed the men. I find it super interesting and ironic that Harper and Ethan basically are the new Daphne and Cameron because they both cheated and that made their relationship (at least what we can see at the airport) stronger. Like Harper said "it's all a front" but that is what works for their marriage.

This was another phenomenal subtlety. In the airport at the end, Portia literally becomes Tanya with the headscarf and big glasses, going back to Albie and highlighting her horrible decision making. It follows Tanya saying Portia reminds her of her younger self. Mike White said on Katie Couric's podcast this week that the whole point of the Portia character was to represent how Gen Z roll their eyes at the rich and feel like they could be so much smarter if they had money but that money ultimately corrupts everyone and they would make the same mistakes.

 

In this interview he also heavily implied Tanya was gonna come back for season 3, that's why I was so mad when he actually killed her

Also in the last scene at the airport when they're cuddling and Harper has her hand over her stomach, which we know typically represents pregnancy, but we also know Ethan and Daphne probably banged  There's so many layers to this s**t.

 

Ryan Murphy is definitely at home throwing his Emmys at the wall because TWL has exposed his shows as mediocre. Nothing else on TV today has the same special sauce of great writing, insightful cultural commentary, great casting, and humor.
