Yeah. I've never seen a previous season of "The White Lotus." I was told it was an "anthology series" like "American Horror Story" and that I could dive in. I only watched this season to see what the big deal is about the show. I've got to say... I don't get it and it's a bore. Watching rich, White people have dull conversations on vacation? That's what "The White Lotus" is? "The White Lotus" is exactly what people mean when they say "White people have no culture." "The Office," "The White Lotus," "Succession." These milquetoast shows are... somethin' else. People find this stuff intriguing, interesting, engaging? I don't get it. I would forgive it some if it was at least funny, but no. The only somewhat interesting storyline is the three women on vacation because some of the subtext revolves around cycles repeating, having the same arguments with your friends or family for years and never breaking out of the cycle. I can't speak to the other seasons, but this show is bland. Cancel it.

I was disappointed by yesterday's episode. Nothing really happened. They're stretching the storylines. The twist wasn't a real twist - we had all predicted it 4 episodes ago.

And can I please just say I AM SO TIRED OF THE DAD BEING HIGH ALL THE TIME. It gets old. I keep hoping he'll soon switch to a different state. The actor must have been so tired playing the high dude for months.

In earlier episodes when Victoria had that dream about tsunami I've thought we're really getting deep into her character but she just continued to deliver her sassy lines, nothing else.

It's... cinema. The muay thai fight was mirroring the back-and-forth tension in the scenes it was used in while drawing obvious comparisons to the cultural and spiritual practice of martial arts which are all about patience, respect and humility in total contrast to western fighting.

The aesthetic of this show contributes so much to its themes and the locations of every scene are very important. Compared to S1, the direction and cinematography this season is so highly considered and you can tell they thought about it far more.

well the "symbolism" you are describing was so on the nose... cutting back to the fight once or twice during the peak scenes would have been more effective. when you do it every 5 minutes (at least that's what it felt like), it loses its impact and messes with the flow of the episode.

Not me refusing to watch the penultimate episode because this has reached a special level of "nothing has happened" AND even the most positive crowd is getting a bit bored themselves. lol.

I heard Mike had to edit out certain scenes due to Trump's win (especially from the Friends) - I wonder if there were more scathing things removed due to that lol.

My issues with this season are the dull father who spent the entire screen time mumbling on pills and the ugly mf who flew away for revenge

I have to say tho, if Mook doesn't turn out to be a villain she might become one of the most useless characters ever written :skull:

If Mook is involved with the Russian guys that would be way too predictable :rip: I hope that's not the case.

I really hope isn't some April Fools joke. :jonny:

Imagine thinking nothing happened in the latest episode. :rip:

Literally every scene was a setup for the finale. It's storytelling.

Everyone expecting a big twist is going to be disappointed. That's not how this show works. It's about the character work. Mook is useless but some people in real life are useless. It could even be you!

The problem with critically acclaimed shows is the fact that people get too attached to it and try to make excuses for it, when it's just okay to admit: this season sucks.

i agree that maybe it is a bit slightly stretched and they could have cut like one episode to make it a bit tighter

but my god some of y'all FRIED your attention spans with tiktawk...

everything is super interesting, it's fascinating to dive deep into the minds of these characters and their dynamics, there was no episode where i felt bored or thought it was a snooze...

The fact that you guys keep resorting to insults about intelligence and attention span to people complaining that this season is boring is lowkey hilarious.

I'm glad it's entertaining you, but this season is nowhere near as deep as you clearly think it is. Try watching Twin Peaks: The Return and get back to me lol

The characters in this season are so boring An Asian rich family or some backpackers from Europe would make it more interesting It's sad since it's set in Thailand and they could have taken the show in a better direction than whatever this season is :rip:

It was excatly the same with Severance. When people complained about pacing, other users were calling them illiterate and low IQ lol
