I literally cannot this season. I know you are so intrigued by it and all but it just not hitting at all.

By this portion in Season 2, I was all in with all the characters- good or bad. The foursome were getting so messy, the Italian hookers were ploying for their money, Tanya being that light funny comedic note to balance the overall nastiness AND even Portia and Albie where funnily bumbling around with their own brand of floppage.

This literally is the slowest season yet. I still do not care about the friends storyline with all of them just bumbling around. It does not help that they are so passive aggressive. I want something pertinently damaging not a bunch of qoute unqoutes.

Also, I could not stand Chelsea at all. All the posturing for what, Chelsea, like girl you are bedding a "father"-figure that does not respect you at all. You are Chloe and your very dour about it. The family is the saving grace of the season AND the only storyline that I personally like, especially that of the daughter's. Her and Posey are the only true astringent pairing this season. Posey's character just goes all in AND I love it.

Boring choices here

"I didn't force him to jerk you off" OOOUUUUUUUU GAGGGGGG

a smashing episode! this one very much feels like a setup sort of episode, more focused on nuanced happenings and dream sequences, that'll really set the tone for the penultimate and final episodes

Spoiler

I. LOVE. LAURIE. SO MUCH. RIGHT. NOW!!!

her passive aggression is so spot on and i'm honestly rooting for her out of the three of them the most! the whole Saxon and Lochlan storyline is so insane and I'm so here for all these intense feelings being expressed from Saxon and how Lochlan started realizing what had occurred when he blacked out while he was in the guided meditation scene… WHEW :jonny5:

I wanna add something else I caught that my roommate and I are both theorizing btw :ryan2:

Spoiler

we think that Sritala's husband is 100% Rick's dad!!

damn that ep came and went :deadbanana4:

Spoiler

the dad imagining shooting himself and then at the end his wife too kinda shook me. the screaming at the beginning :biblio:

tbh i think all will be well for most of the rich people including the family/dad. the shooting will be for some silly reason and maybe one or two get got.

I loved every moment of the three friends in this episode.

This kind of fallout episode reminded me of season 2 when Harper was spiralling. Saxon trying his hardest to forget everything was great entertainment.

The biggest problem with this season is that people were expecting a soap opera and got a character study

Every season is a character study tho.. the only threading storyline is Tanya's

- i know saxon was mad as hell because that handjob was dry as shjte….wouldve ruined my night :suburban:

- the family's storyline is just too juicy and the spiritual awakenings/major existential crises coming for them in the penultimate and final episode. I need to see how their story ends so bad.

- the girls are all bitchy towards each other but we've seen laurie still has grievances from being the unpopular or least desirable amongst the trio and how jaclyn has been an insufferable attention seeker since forever but something about how little of kate's layers have been peeled outside of her being republican is suspicious :deadbanana2:

i'm too attached to belinda for anything to happen to ha….

I'm sorry but I'm bored.  I will finish the season only because I've wasted so much time watching it every week.  It's not that it's bad, it's just rather pointless beyond the first few episodes.  The middle episodes are literally filler for what I assume will be an entertaining ending.

Another fabulous episode. Chelsea is such a ray of light :heart2: Love how she's proving to all of them that all it takes is a little integrity and you don't get corrupted by filth, violence or hedonism. I think her being good at heart is going to pay off in the end with the karma theme and she'll get a happy ending with or without Rick.

Victoria continues to be THE star of every scene she's in, hopefully she doesn't actually take a bullet.

I'm only 3 eps in but I'm obsessed with Mother Ratliff, I wanna pop pills with her so bad

Season 4 should be her and her gay son visiting The White Lotus Fire Island :gaycattel:

Chelsea might end up as one of my favorite characters in the whole series. The way she GAGGED Saxon several times and then Chloe delivered the final blow :jonny2:

And Jaclyn is really that girl I knew she was, I know a couple Jaclyns in real life :sabrina:

we need to stop caring about "good representation". at the end of the day it's fake and your only motivation is for homophobes to like you (spoiler alert: they won't). it just ends in stories that straight people would find acceptable and not honest queer experiences. growing up I imagined doing stuff with my cousins - I was a horny teenager and they were the only male people of my age around me. I would never have the same thoughts now, but that happened at that time. so I find this a better gay representation than things like Heartstopper lol. at the end of the day if you care too much about people liking you, you lose what you really are (and I'm not saying this in support of incest, I say it cause you seem to care about it)

if I remember correctly, I heard some of those ideas in this video

this tea! you've opened my mind for sure

Wow Chelsie not only roasted Saxon really hard but also the whole hook up scene tbh. It's just all so empty and soulless. No wonder everyone is so miserable.

"Good representation" is such a 2018 concept. Like I said a couple of weeks ago, let women, people of color, queers, etc etc be bad and nasty and stupid. We're not all saints and being portrayed as such in media is idiotic.

But people lost all meaning of media literacy nowadays and even stuff like Anora gets badly dissected and trashed because "good representation" is the only thing that matters to them.

Exactly this whole "model minority" BS just dehumanizes us further. We are not here to live in the unrealistic image str8 breeders set up for us.

Loved the episode this week, lots of unfinished business to develop in the next two episodes, you just know it is going to be intense.

Carrie, don't let anyone to SILENCE you, speak your truth!

Kate is such a two-face woman. I mean, wbk but yeah... :toofunny3:

And did Jaclyn graduate from the Taylor university of victim complex? The fact I have seen several online standing with her/her behaviour, just tells me everything about the quality of person...

Lots of tension, can't wait for next Sunday.
