ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted December 6, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted December 6, 2022 When it turns out that the opening scene was a misdirect and the murder actually occurs after random bodies have been found Kidding, kidding. I have no idea which character will pass but I have so enjoyed this season It does make me wonder what on earth they would cover in a third season, but in Mike I trust so long as he doesn't mess up the finale like he did with season 1

Outlaws Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 I liked this episode a lot, it was creepy as ****, still cannot decide whether I think those two had s3x or not And wow at the BEAUTY in this show. Lucia, she is sooo incredibly beautiful and makes me feel things The italian guy, oh my... Everything about him was. Lucky girl who got IT Jack, what a hottie. His attitude, his eyes, his everything Albie is fading to the background a bit but I still like him.

She's found a lot of moments to work in a nuanced performance. She also creates numerous thought provoking beats despite a character that could be read as one-dimensional.

Well I'm not saying shes not a great actress she is and I plugged her movie Emily the criminal a few pages back. I just meant that the role of harper can't be that difficult of a role to play.

Many roles (arguably any role) are not inherently difficult, what makes them striking, captivating, and worthwhile is the way in which an actor interprets the role. That's what can make them impressive. Anyone can memorize lines and deliver them believably, it's the choices they make, the beats they find, and the moments they create that separates a good performance from a great one. Aubrey is giving a layered performance (at least in my opinion), her confrontation at the start of the last episode was just one of several moments that stood out. You can see the character work on full display, battling numerous emotions at the same time. To me, that's the mark of a strong artist. She could've played it as a one note sequence and it would've been fine, but her approach elevated the scene. Just my thoughts though

I've heard it's really good! There are just so many films I have to get caught up on I'll be honest, I was not thrilled when she was cast in this season because I wasn't convinced she'd be able to give a performance on par with what the show demands and WHEW I was very wrong. I've been a fan since Parks and Rec but I think she really broke some new ground with this one
montacelo Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Imagine just whittling Harpers character to just being a nagger for *6 episodes
Dark Phoenix Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 I’m at 2x03 and I’ve seen enough to say that Jennifer’s acting is somehow worse vs what she delivered in S1 and also she had botox or a lifting and her face looks pulled/stretched. And sorry but Harper is the best character and Audra is doing a great job.
Bey'Knight Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Ive been defending Albie but it was just dumb to bring along an escort on such a sentimental family trip. And what is it with American shows and kids always having upper hand over their parents. This is why i cant stand teen dramas. Kids get rewarded for being brats. His father should’ve put his foot down. Albie and Lucia can walk if he’s so inclined. Lucia hasnt been shown to be dubious in her scenes with Mia so if she’s trying to scam Albie, id be disappointed but wouldnt feel bad for him. He wants to be a hero so bad. The grandpa started off as the most despicable Di Grazzo man and now he’s the most sympathetic. I think the English guy is def trying to swindle Tanya with Jack’s assistance. I dont get the sentiment behind the photograph she picked up though. Were we supposed to recognise the men in it? It’s so funny how Daphne is always oblivious to the loaded looks in the couple scenes. I dont think anything happened btw Cam and Harper (she did change outfits though) but Ethan’s paranoia is in overdrive. His character went from being the most passive of the four to harbouring so much rage. Felt bad for Valentina in this episode. We gays know a thing or two about unrequited affection. At least she got some birthday action. I’m pumped for the finale. This is way more dialled up than the first season. My guesses on the three deaths are Spoiler Lucia, her pimp and Albie
Bimbo Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Jack, Ethan and Portia are so annoying ksfjdgj I can't stand their asses
Contessa Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Can't stand Ethan. That's about it. I like all the other characters.

Reveal hidden contents Lucia, her pimp and Albie Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but the men in those pics looked like young Quentin (english guy) and Greg (her husband, the bald man who left her). So basically they know each other. I watched it twice and both times they looked to me like their young selves. EDIT: yes! just found this article https://uproxx.com/tv/tanya-photo-picture-white-lotus-episode-6-jennifer-coolidge-cocaine/ People made that prediction. I’ll reserve judgement till after the finale but i wish the showrunner didnt go in this direction. Its just a bit of a gun-jumping moment for me. The only rationale i can surmise for a long con is that the choice of location was Greg’s pick. The posturing gay targeting Tanya for her ditzy rich old white lady was realistic enough. I didnt need the aggrieved jilted lover soap opera twist. Greg is not that relevant of a character to drive a climax.
Liafen Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 The thing is, recording Tanya having sex with the italian guy - thus having proof of adultery - is perfectly enough for Greg & Co. to pursue and win a lawsuit. Killing her doesn't make sense as it sure will prolong the case with the investigation and police would make the connection between Greg and Uncle Gay.
Beyonnaise Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 (edited) Great article about why Daphne is the best character. Meghann is playing her so well Quote Daphne is the most compelling character in that rejigged framework, because she understands the game so well. Cameron’s going to party with the locals? She will rent a villa for the night. There’s unresolved sexual tension in the group hang? Fine, she’ll go be flirty with a masseur that looks like Timothée Chalamet (with muscles) and avoid their nonsense altogether. It shouldn’t work, but it does. It should be all be exhausting, but Daphne and Cameron’s conversations about their misbehaviour, a thrill ride of honesty and white lies, are invigorating. There’s an obligatory dark side. Daphne’s obsession with true crime, and its spiritual home Dateline, may ring true with many of her generation, but she takes it a step further. “Husbands murdering their wives, happens a lot on vacation,” she tells the table, before setting out death by scuba dive. “He will just unplug her oxygen while she’s underwater. Happens more than you think.” That only makes her more of a joy to watch, and in a show that delights in discomfort, she’s the character who really pushes things too far on purpose. Her coping mechanisms would likely not be validated by a therapist, but they do seem based in reality. In what will likely go down as her character’s stand-out moment, Daphne advises Harper to get a trainer, a euphemistic piece of advice which appears to translate as: find someone good looking enough on the side to make you forget about your cheating husband. It’s a bizarrely touching moment, a sign of both her realism and resilience. She refuses to be pitied, and the miraculous thing is that you actually admire her. None of this would work without Fahy, the best part of teen fashion magazine drama The Bold Type, who elevates every scene with a care-free spirit, cut through with murder.
