Squid Game | Season 2 now streaming | 3rd and final season coming in 2025

I feel like I love this season more due to more likable and rootable characters

Hyunju, Youngmi, old lady, the father with sick daughter, Junhee, even the female guard was rootable.

Not a fan of the lack of games though (did we only get 3 games?) and that ending…..

I can't wait for season 3 in 2025. At least it's not going to be another 3 years

Certified on Rotten Tomatoes. That's surprising.

Good for the series creator.

Wow this season really making no noise  In comparison to season 1 the hype is non-existent

Anyway I just finished episode 3 and enjoying it a lot so far

Spoiler

Some of the new actors (like T.O.P) are very annoying, and my sis Jo Yuri hasn't even uttered a word yet :gaycat6:

The plot twist with that bunny girl working as one of the pink guards GAGGED me :deadbanana: and when she saw the little girl's father during the first game!!! Omg it's not going to end well is it

A trans action hero is lowkey eye-conic, I couldn't believe my eyes lol.

I enjoyed it, I liked all the parts IN THE GAMES, but god the detective parts are so damn boring I could not care less.

Mingle was great, the other game pissed me off because it just felt so random and 5 minutes was so short that it really made the moments when named characters won feel a little too convenient, like the way the trans girl's team managed to arrive at the last game/discuss/win AND cross the finish line in like, what, 15 seconds total? That momentarily took me out of it haha.

More of the contestants should have died in that game, because 5 mins was so ******* short

Oh the lack of games is a choice. The fresh deadly games is what made the first season so special. Only 3 games this season is way too little. No wonder the mingle game episode was the best.

Hopefully Season 3 delivers more in that regard.

Lol, this kinda movies/series always peak at 1st movie/season.

Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Squid Games etc etc, all these 2nd season/movie divert their objectives drastically, and tbh not a fan of that changes.

I feel like splitting the ending into a season 3 is so unnecessary. I think everyone would've been fine with a longer season 2 knowing it would've concluded the story.

I liked it, actually. The finale ending is definitely underwhelming, but I just feel like Season 3 is going to feel like Season 2 Part 2. Thank god it's coming next year

loved this season even more than the first one

Spoiler

the only issue I have with the second season is how bizarre it was that every player on Team X suddenly forgot or stopped caring about the prize money in the last episode. I was wondering why not a single one of them brought it up when they started hatching the plan.

after 3 years I still don't see how the court of

the game is supposed to resemble a squid...

It's widely agreed upon that Catching Fire is the best Hunger Games installment

So nice seeing people slowly starting to praise the trans character online now, I was afraid people would reject her purely because of the cis actor and ignore how thoughtful the creator of the show was with the portrayal. I read they tried to find a trans actress but it was nearly impossible and realistically for THIS character I think the casting was perfect.

Spoiler

The boat guy being the traitor was so obvious :rip: Was it supposed to be a shocking plot twist or the audience should've figured it out before the "reveal"? If it's the former, they failed miserably ijbol

Also I didn't enjoy the character arcs for some of the new characters. That one marine guy who was brave enough to take the gun and fight but then got too scared to bring the new ammo back :rip: like if you're not ready you could stay where others are fighting or choose not to fight in the first place.

Or that shy guy who had so much screentime but his character arc led to… nothing at all. You could cut all his scenes and nothing would change. I understand we'll probably see his moments in the next season, but doing ALL the setup with ZERO payoff in one season is a choice.
Also might be a hot take but the granny and the son should've died. I liked them but the plot armor was STRONG for them. At least their deaths would be very impactful emotionally, like some deaths in season 1 were. Maybe they die next season.

The front man being one of the players is weird. I get it's probably just entertainment for him, but some of his words were way too convincing. He must be a great actor I guess

The trans girl and the pregnant one are amazing. Maybe I'm a bit biased because it's Jo Yuri but whatever lol

Overall I did enjoy this season, but I feel like it gave us more questions than answers. I agree this does feel like Season 2 Part 1, rather than a full-fledged Season 2.

I liked season 2 a lot, actually more than season 1.

Although they could've been better at fleshing out some of the characters more, so that their deaths would've affected the viewers more

Legit, their deaths are so whatever, there's no depth to the side characters at all.
