Attitude Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 As I'm playing I'm wondering how this game will perform on Switch.
Whis Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Just went into the Forbidden Forest for the first time and I love it The fact that I haven’t even discovered 10% of this game yet
Magickarp Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Thought i was **** at combat, but upgraded a few Talents & almost never come close to dying & i haven't even gone into the Dark Arts yet lmao. Very BOTW feeling, where you're at your weakest in the early game. I need to learn to Parry & stop dodge rolling everything tho I do play in a very BOTW sense. Like when possible, i sneak & lure enemies to take them out 1 by 1, rather than face a whole mob at once. And i'm glad it allows u those options. The more i play the game, the more i keep thinking, BOTW BOTW BOTW They definitely took huge inspiration from it. Why haven't i unlocked the Vivarium yet i wanna pet my babies 20 hours ago, Marla Singer said: My only complaints are the movement and camera just feel clunky to me. That might just be me, but that would be my main complaint. And then the limit of 20 items/gear. Hopefully you can increase that as you go further in the game or it's going to be a chore to manage it, because I've already had to destroy or sell stuff. Camera is a bit too close, yuh. And yes u can increase the inventory, in the same vein as Korok seeds. U should sell all your weakest gear ime, at least in the early game. I saw no value in keeping all but the strongest since u keep the cosmetics even if u sell them.

They wouldn't be 5th graders in the US, they'd be a 10th grader, as Year 12 in the Hogwarts and (funnily enough our Northern Irish) school system, is 15-16 year olds (it's also when you can leave school and go to college (tech) or stay on and go onto Sixth Form to do your A-Levels, and that's the same age as an 10th grader, 5th grade in the US would be 10-11 years old.

Uhm, yeah, they are 5th graders in Hogwarts A 15-16 year old mass-murdering people left and right does not make it any better. I really don't understand how people can manage to be immersed in this game, but more power to them I guess

If you dont want to play dont play but this take is hilarious. He is not mass murdering people. Please relax and go outside.
swee89 Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 (edited) Tizi is right in a way also LOL "As some players might have picked up during the trailer, your character is in their fifth year at Hogwarts. Since first years are age 11 when they first come to Hogwarts, this means that the main character is roughly 15 years old in Hogwarts Legacy." Edited February 12, 2023 by swee89

Please name the Hogwarts students that used unforgivable curses in the books or movies, outside of the DatDA classroom. Harry attempts to use them in book 5 and 6 and fails because he doesn't truly mean it. After that they are only used once Voldemort legalizes them. You literally use them freely in the game with no consequence, and you do murder other magical creatures. Please refrain from quoting me if you have 0 idea what you are talking about. Go and enjoy the game all you like, but this high and mighty act of yours is not working for you at all. I also literally said that the protagonist is 15-16 years old, so the whole "reading" thing isn't going too hot for you in general. Edited February 12, 2023 by Dephira

A 12 yr old would definitively not be forced to navigate teacher-designed death-trap escape rooms filled w/ deadly fire-shooting creatures in their day to day lesson plan and yet the early PC/PS2 games are built around this exact formula...no one claimed they were immersion-breaking HL is immersive because the world is huge and filled with carefully constructed and loving detail...we suspend disbelief re combat in the same we would playing Uncharted (no way Nathan Drake has the energy to scale all those buildings/cliffs/trains/planes while murdering hundreds of people) or TLOU (no way Joel/Ellie could take out thousands of clickers/FEDRA agents over and over again without dying). Kinda just the nature of video games no?

This literally happens constantly in the books... it's basically a meme at this point how shitty the Hogwarts teachers are for always putting the students into mortal danger with zero supervision. A Hogwarts student liberally killing other creatures and using unforgivable curses is total nonsense in the world as far as I'm concerned, but again, more power to you if you're enjoying it
Whis Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 The combat is so fun Just had my first flying class I LOVE IT
Cleanromantic Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 I wish I could set-up professor Garlic and Professor Sharp on a date they could be so cute together . Spoiler I also ran into my first technical difficulty. I was walking on the chemin de ronde overseeing the courtyard above the Hufflepuff common room and i suddenly fell out of bounds and died .

There should be more immersion and that the game should’ve had a morality rate and actual consequences for using the 3 unforgivable curses like sudd sky have a bounty on you or have the ministry of magic go after you. Some people do want to play as villains and they believe no having any limits or actual crimes does ruin the rpg aspect of the game. I understand some folks go all out but for sake of gaming your concerns do make sense. But we should give the studio a chance this is their first major game and it was done better than expected. With time I am sure WB will add a dlc/expansions and will add thing that concern and improve the gaming experience for people.

May Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 I’ve just played for like 8 hours with no breaks and i adore this game usually when i game i NEVER do the missions, i just free roam . it’s how I like to play. but w this one im genuinely into the story and wanna finish it ! my only complaint is that the camera is too close to the protagonist, it makes it harder to fully appreciate the world

Magickarp Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Choosing to find all the Demiguise Moons & Daedalian Keys before i explore any further Discovered so many secret areas around Hogwarts. The place is huge. Thank god for level scaling cuz Some franchises *coughs* Pokemon *coughs* could learn a thing or two.

Venom Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Does anyone else's R2 button on the PS5 controller get hard when you're casting spells? Initially, I thought maybe something got stuck in the R2 button because it was so damn hard to push but then I go to the main menu and it feels light again and only gets hard in the game. It's so annoying because it ruins my flow
