Archetype Posted April 30 Posted April 30 (edited) That ending was HORRIBLE. Spoiler She ended Kim with a one liner chant in... 5 seconds... thanks to the ghost of her dead husband's dead ex-wife appearing at just the right time? All of the witch-vampires are dead, her evil baby turns into a normal baby, her spine magically heals, and... she puts on the coven's black hat? What are we supposed to take away from this? Did Ryan just give up and wrap the season early or something? It feels like there should have been another episode to show the aftermath. 9 hours ago, Hurem said: At this point, I'm pretty certain that AHS has become some sort of money laundering scheme for Murphy and co, cause there's no way this is being profitable for the network. FX is able to keep this show running because Ryan employs his friends and/or people who are famous and will do it for little to no salary. I'd be willing to bet that Ryan was able to get Kim, Cara, and Emma for cheap. Kim probably wanted the lead role credit to add to her resume, Cara is a huge fan of the show, and Emma is really close with Ryan and will always do this if she's given a lead part. It was the same with prior years. Ryan always looks for iconic celebrities and actresses who need the opportunity, and sometimes it works in their favor (Gaga, Jessica, Kathy, and Angela are perfect examples) and sometimes it doesn't (the past several seasons). I think Kim benefitted the most from this, as she did a pretty good job playing her character despite the season being so bad. Edited April 30 by Archetype 2
skwonderfactory Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Yeah, this season was… something. That's for sure. Honestly, the first five episodes had me hooked and I was into it. Then we had that long a*s break and it came back with… whatever the f**k this was. The season finale was God awful. It made so little sense while just raising twenty more questions to the hundred that already existed. The next season better be good or this series just needs to be axed. It's clearly passed its prime but I know it can be better than this season as a whole. 1
Breathe On Moi Posted May 15 Posted May 15 the way this just came and went and didn't even make a fart absolutely embarrassing 1 1
UnderratedVocalist Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Just stopping by to say that Mike Flanagan is literally everything Ryan Murphy wants to be. I just finished all 4 of his shows (The Haunting of Hill House, The haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher) and MY GOD. I got used to Ryan's trashy seasons that never go anywhere and end up in disasters that it was such a breath of fresh air to watch a horror anthology with SUPERB acting, cohesive story that actually makes sense and stays true to itself from START TO END. And literally ALL the shows end in such an amazing way, coming full circle. WHEW. 5 1
genetic fail Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Roanoke getting the love it deserves Just outside the holy trinity 1
lauvender Posted August 4 Posted August 4 finally finishing this and… idk what to say i think Emma & Kim did good but they should just stop making new seasons, it's not fair compared to how good AHS used to be.
Almodusa Posted August 4 Posted August 4 This got 1 Emmy nomination for its costumes, making NYC the only season to entirely miss dd

publikcitizen Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Any rumors about S13? I'm assuming it'll be released next year
DR0GO Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Is his new series Grotesquerie an anthology series? I think it's time to call it a day with AHS.

I'm assuming it'll be released next year The Chairman of FX said in July that he has "no idea" when it is coming out and basically said Ryan Murphy will put it out when he's ready. Grotesquerie is so visually similar to AHS that FX probably wouldn't even let them be released alongside another to avoid over-saturating the lineup. If Grotesquerie is a hit, I can see Ryan scrapping S13 of AHS altogether just like he did with S2 of Ratched, or maybe he'll make S13 a Hulu exclusive for the fans while Grotesquerie airs on FX. But if he's not planning to put any effort into the final season - he can honestly keep it. The last 4 seasons... 1
jakeisphat Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Quote Sure, Murphy has a half-dozen other hits rolling out — including FX's horror-themed Grotesquerie, as well as a new batch of American Horror Stories on Hulu — but that isn't keeping the Horror Story fans from wondering when they might get their next fix. The answer, according to Murphy himself, is "sooner than you think." In fact, Murphy tells The Hollywood Reporter that he "was talking to Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters about that the other day," fanning the speculative flames even further. Quote Paulson herself added that "there is a big chance that I will return to American Horror Story" in an interview with Good Morning America on Friday. "I would like to do it more than anything… If I could be reunited with Evan Peters and Ryan Murphy, you can pretty much tell me what time I will be there, and I will be there." https://tvline.com/news/american-horror-story-season-13-cast-sarah-paulson-evan-peters-1235345470/ 3
UnderratedVocalist Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Just give us ONE final GREAT season and call it a day Ryan. Bring back all the ACTORS and ACTRESSES (you all know who I'm referring to to be excluded) and give us a season reminiscing of earlier seasons. No more gay baiting and fulfilling your own personal fantasies, Ryan. Just give the fans what they want for one last time
DR0GO Posted October 15 Posted October 15 I agree with there being one final season of AHS and then calling it a day.
stjosephprey4us Posted October 16 Posted October 16 The thing is, the franchise is making $. I know Ryan is for sure tired of the main show, but it seems Hulu expects the spin-off to be their Black Mirror, and I can't see Ryan cancelling Story (especially with a huge final season tying all loose ends) but then keeping Stories running. So I have a feeling both will get renewed, and we will have to sit thru many more lackluster seasons of them being out of ideas
