stjosephprey4us Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Okay I take it back, I actually liked this season (I know I’ve flip-flopped and switched like an f slur), despite the super anticlimactic ending. I feel like we didn’t really get closure but I have basically accepted by this point that Ryan Murphy and his team have no idea how to end any of their shows. However, if Big Daddy is really representative of AIDS, I just have some last unanswered questions: 1) who / what fire bombed the private club all the characters were at in episode 3 2) so Patrick gave Barbara HIV? She showed no signs of being sick before Big Daddy killed her. 3) this may be really ignorant of me but why did Theo, Patrick, Hannah, Barbara, and Sam die so quickly but Adam and Gino lasted so long? I would think it would affect them all at the same speed 4) what happened to the lesbians? Were they just filler for the season? Why was big daddy appearing to them if they didn’t have AIDS? i def have more questions but I can’t think of them rn, will post if I remember

I think FX should just cancel the show after this season. Even though it's already ordered a S12 and S13, they can take that back and end it after this season.
slik Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 I can't believe the last scene was adam making a weird fac and fade to black

Rihlord Posted November 17, 2022 Author Posted November 17, 2022 So aids can throw fire bombs into a club full of gays? Damn.
stjosephprey4us Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 I feel like this season showed a lot of promise which is annoying w where they chose to go, but it’s also not as bad as it could’ve gone if that makes sense. However, I also don’t really feel as if this is the same show as the first 8 seasons anymore (season 10 felt more like classic AHS but 9 felt very different to me as well. This season didn’t feel like AHS at all). I feel like we literally didn’t get a season of AHS for this year, just like 2020
publikcitizen Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 My updated AHS ranking after this finale: 1. Asylum 2. Roanoke 3. Cult 4. Coven 5. Murder House 6. 1984 7. NYC 8. Red Tide 9. Freak Show 10. Hotel 11. Apocalypse 12. Death Valley
Rihlord Posted November 17, 2022 Author Posted November 17, 2022 I think it’s ****** up they just abandoned the lesbians, when they were integral in the AIDS movement and caring for ailing gay men when no one else would. He literally has all these characters like Fran and the others and just abandoned them.
publikcitizen Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 According to Wikipedia, Nico Greetham and Dot Marie Jones were supposed to appear but I guess their scenes were cut.
Rihlord Posted November 17, 2022 Author Posted November 17, 2022 So this was basically just Cruising meets Angels in America.

stjosephprey4us Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 (edited) Oh wait I remember my last question. Who the hell was the guy that Sam (Zachary Quinto) saw when he took Big Daddy’s mask off also here’s my preliminary ranking after tonight: Asylum > Murder House > Coven > Freak Show > Roanoke > NYC > Apocalypse > Red Tide by itself > Hotel > Cult > 1984 > Death Valley by itself More thoughts in spoiler bc the post is getting too long. Spoiler None of the seasons are bad per se. Even 1989 which isn’t my cup of tea I appreciate overall, especially the happy-ish ending (for AHS’s standards). The only truly horrible one was Death Valley bc it was so short, and the ending was literally one of the worst hours of television I’ve ever seen. I felt Double Feature had to be split up in my ranking bc it really was two completely unrelated stories. The Jessica Lange seasons obviously reign Supreme (pun intended). I desperately hope they bring her back at least for one final hurrah in a(n actually well written) final season to bring things full circle and make up for the **** we’ve had to sit through since she left Also, Sarah is homophobic for not doing this season lol Edited November 17, 2022 by stjosephprey4us

HeavyMetalAura Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Okay I guess I'm in the minority for really enjoying it definitely some plot holes, yeah, but literally the best seasons of AHS have them, so I don't feel like it's a fair criticism of a season in the scope of comparing it to other seasons/being an AHS fan (but a fine criticism on its own, clearly). Only thing I'm confused about is if cop dude was actually helping the Mai Thai killer the whole time or if that was part of the dream? Like, wasn't he trying to solve the murders? Did he have disassociative identity disorder or something?
slik Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 They really set in a writer's room and someone said 'what would be a perfect manifestation of aids' and someone raised their hand and said 'muscle leather daddy'
slik Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 The acting was good The score was good I give it that, it deserves praise for that

It’s like “come here and fulfill your desires… the only catch is that it’s going to kill you,” which is part of the “horror story” element. Idk tho, just my take lol
stjosephprey4us Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Also did Henry get AIDS? I feel like I needed some other closure for his character other than him dumping Sam’s ashes on the beach and lastly, what was the point of this character?

I think the part with the killer wasn’t a memory but just Barbara showing Patrick something familiar so that he could see that he was tearing himself apart and trying to collect pieces of himself along the way. He may have felt guilty as well with knowing of Whitley since he took care of the guy he and Sam accidentally killed so that may been a part of it too where he felt he was working with him but actually wasn’t.
Brunette Ambition Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 This was actually great love how they don’t explain everything and leave it to the audience. It was almost lynchian
Bethenny Frankel Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 That was one of their best finales ever honestly
Underworld Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 I will watch if there is nude scenes from Russel Tovey.
Hector Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Those two episodes were the saddest episodes in all of AHS history and so unlike the others. True tearjerkers. Overall, even though this season had some filler episodes, this is definitely one of the most intriguing seasons in the franchise.
