Souvenir Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Can I understand the 4th season without watching the 3rd season? A lot of people said the 3rd season was bad 1

A lot of people said the 3rd season was bad Technically. You might not understand some of the side plots (I would maybe watch s1-s2 to understand why s4 hits so hard) but the only thing you'd miss by skipping s3 is why/how some characters are close with each other (none of which matters for the main mystery). And s3 was borderline unwatchable for me so I agree with those people. Though the last 5 or so minutes of the s3 finale are amazing though (and lowkey the only part of the entire season worth watching), so maybe look up a clip of them before watching s4. Aston Martin Posted October 23 Posted October 23 (edited) In regard to this episode: Spoiler I KNEW IT I ******* KNEW IT I WAS SUSPICIOUS OF HIM FOR A WHILE I ******* KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT Some more organized thoughts on this episode: Spoiler Loved it, and having Mabel trapped alone with the murderer in the Dudenoff apartment makes for a killer (excuse the pun) finale. Holy ****. Way better killer reveal than s3. Though I do think a second person was involved, and we'll find that out during the finale. As to who it is, idk. Marshall/Rex was my biggest prediction for most of the season. In episode 4 (I just went back and watched it) Rex Bailey is mentioned by Glenn as a horrible stuntman during Sazz's funeral. That's Marshall's real name. In the original episode, it just comes off as an anecdotal story/for comedic effect. But it's actually major foreshadowing the killer (or at least one of them). It also foreshadowed Glenn getting murdered by Rex later in the season. Great writing there. This ending is also foreshadowed in ep.5 when Glenn looks at Marshall and says "when did you grow a beard lassie?". That's what initially made me suspicious of him. Same with Marshall saying that he has 20/10 vision, that would make him a very skilled sniper. Also this is the first season where a guy's been the main killer. Jan in s1, Poppy/Becky in s2 (with Krepps as an accomplice), Donna and Cliff were both manslaughter in s3, and Marshall/Rex is the main killer (with ? as an accomplice) this season. Predictions for the finale/questions I have going forward: Spoiler Who do we think Marshall's accomplice was? I still think it was a two-person job. He was obviously the sniper, and I think he was also in Sazz's LA apartment when the trio were first there in ep.1 (which still might be my favorite episode in the series). But I do think someone else got her out of the apartment, into the incinerator, and cleaned up the crime scene. Who do we think the moriarty was? I think that's going to be the main storyline of s5. The dry cleaning crime ring news story playing on the TV in the hospital seems like foreshadowing/a clue. I don't think that's going to be revealed in the finale, but the presence of one will be. Who do we think the s5 victim(s) will be? My guesses are (in no particular order): Loretta, Howard, Jan, or Gravey discovers several bodies and they open up cold cases of previous murderers in the Arconia. That's how they find out the Moriarty is still after them/a danger leading into s5. Edited October 23 by Aston Martin 2

publikcitizen Posted October 23 Posted October 23 I think it's very possible that Spoiler Marshall's accomplice won't be revealed until season 5. I think it could be the Moriarty of the show. They could've found Marshall after they felt threatened by Sazz starting to poke around. Maybe they blackmailed him to kill Sazz. They also could be connected to the dry cleaning ring teased in the episode today. So many theories. Hopefully the finale will answer some questions and get things set up for season 5. 1
shark_heather Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Hmmm good episode , i laughed a couple of times but the reveal was very predictable 😴 I loved the Oliver / Charles moment
andresg770 Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Maybe I missed something because I watch this before going to work at 7 am and I'm still sleepy. But... Spoiler Why would Mabel confront Marshall about the script? Yeah, he probably would've seen the text she got from Charles and Oliver, but still... Having solved multiple murders by now, surely she would've realized it's suspicious evidence and kept the script to herself? Idk
ctlp27 Posted October 23 Posted October 23 I feel like if season 5 is the final one, that one of the trio or Meryl Streep will be the final murder. After all their wedding is at the Arconia...

I meant about the Nielsen ratings chart. It didn't crack the 600 million views this season, while it's doing great for Hulu parameters. Edited October 23 by Fading
Hector Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Great finale to a fun season. Loved the twists and turns and surprises! And once again, the very ending set up the next season PERFECTLY. Spoiler Poor Lester the doorman! RIP. 1
ATRL Administrator Lee!! Posted October 29 ATRL Administrator Posted October 29 Nooooo the murder for next season

Archetype Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Is S4 any good? I hated the third season but somehow forced myself to watch. My biggest gripe was the unnecessary character development that tbh was not needed after two complete seasons. 1
shark_heather Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Fantastic finale Overall this season was amazing , i hope the next one is not the last Spoiler So they will investigate 2 murders in the next season i guess 2
LikeAChampion Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Spoiler Having Lester be the next murder will bring the show back into the building and hopefully bring back the quirky residents that people loved about the first two seasons. The Hollywood angle of this season took the soul out of the show. 1
Almodusa Posted October 29 Posted October 29 What a great season! Think this season is their best shot so far at winning Comedy Series. We'll see how Hacks S4 is since it's likely to come out in time. Spoiler Lester nooooo He and Loretta were the ones my brother and I were really anxious for when the wedding scene began. Sazz really dead huh I mean guess it was already stated but I had some small hope. Though you never know… 1
Aston Martin Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Spoiler Ngl I loved the season (especially in comparison to the last one) but I feel like the writing got a little weaker towards the end. For instance, why didn't they confirm who was in Sazz's apartment when the trio broke in (probably Marshall but then why was he in there? To find the script? Why not mention that?). Sazz's death has definitely been the hardest-hitting in the series thus far imo, I'll greatly miss her going forward. Jane Lynch was brilliant in the role. Love that Jan saved the day. Even though you really have to suspend disbelief to make her coming back make sense, I hope we see her again. I was so scared that the next death was either going to be Howard or Loretta that I forgot about Lester but like Sazz's death last season, it's a good setup for the next one. It's a sad death though, and I'm interested to delve into his backstory. 1
publikcitizen Posted October 30 Posted October 30 (edited) Excellent finale! And I'm so excited for Téa Leoni joining the show! Can't wait to see more of character next season. Loved her on Madam Secretary so I feel like this will be a fun character for her to play. Edited October 30 by publikcitizen

Spoiler I took the Hollywood side as the show way of making a joke out of the common thing that happens with TV shows when they reach 4th/5th season and start basically parodying themselves. It was a nice and clever change.
Cardcaptor Sakura Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Love love love the finale The show is just so easy watch, hope they renew it for another 4 or 5 seasons
Donquizote Posted November 17 Posted November 17 5th season is renewed Imagine if Gaga co-starred in season 5 1 1 1
