I can’t believe this got bad reviews…I was expecting it to be terrible. I actually really enjoyed it! Obviously not as good as the first but it was definitely a cute sequel. These reviewers need to get a clue.

That was so much fun. Loved it! Especially the first half, before the spell.

 

The only part I did not enjoy was the final fight scene between Amy and Maya. It was giving cheap Marvel vibes.

Why did Disney not release this in theaters? I was actually surprised at how high budget it is. I was expecting them cutting corners on CGI and sets like the tragic Hocus Pocus 2, but this was actually very well done. I actually really enjoyed the storyline and how different the world is in this one... the contrast of dirty NYC vs perfectly manicured landscaping was refreshing.

I loved the first film but I was disappointed in this one. They fumbled Giselle's writing, literally the first film ended with her learning to adapt to the real world and here she's more naive than ever. I think this review really captures what I didn't like about the movie:

Welp the movie is cute but compared to the first one is very lackluster

The idea for the plot was clever but the execution not so much

Nevertheless Amy is just SO charming as Giselle I wish she had a better story to showcase even more greatness

Finally got around to watching this. It was pretty good, but the execution could've been stronger. 

 

Pros: 

- Different setting

- Clever plot with Giselle becoming a wicked stepmother

- Strong use of Morgan in this sequel

- Idina singing a song!

- Good cast! Glad to see a cameo of the original actress who played Morgan

- Movie looked like it was a high budget film

 

Cons:

- Robert and Edward felt somewhat under utilized in this movie 

- Morgan's love interest wasn't captivating 

- Singing was overused here

- Ending was a little underwhelming

- Malvina could've been a more sinister villain instead of acting like a cliche queen bee.

This is so disappointing, finally watched it last week.  If they don’t have enough budget for costumes and set them don’t ******* make it to ruin my childhood   the music is not good either and it’s a musical
