I still think it's very weird how Jake just abandoned being human :rip:

I mean it's not like the man was paralyzed from the waist down or anything :rip:

His humanity had him confined to a wheelchair. With his Avatar form he got his freedom back. His choice doesn't seem all that weird imo.

Not quite, the focus is on the family dynamic which includes the Na'vi kids, the adopted human child as well as their adopted Na'vi daughter that seems to have a mysterious connection to Sigourney Weaver's character from the first film.

Indian presales are through the roof.. it'll challenge Endgame for highest grossing Hollywood release of all time :clap3:

Lots of the girls don't see the tsunami that's coming.

The trailer doesn’t entice me towards the movie. I see lots of great gowns, beautiful gowns shots but I still don’t have a grasp on the central conflict. Whom or whatever their targeting their weapons at seems faceless to me and that’s a problem. I think I’ll just wait till it’s on Disney+. I wasn’t that psyched about the first one anyway.

I predict that this one will exceed expectations and blow predictions out of the water (no pun intended) but that the franchise as a whole - meaning the last 3 movies - will not have legs. I can see people being excited for a long-awaited sequel, but will they rush to see 3 more movies this decade? I’m not convinced. Rooting for it though!

It was ok, a lot of gimmicks shoot tho and way too long for a generic story because they kinda needed to reintroduce everything . I won’t spoil much.

The score was decent, are you talking about the soundtrack?

Do you think it leaves you wanting to see Avatar 3?

Thanks. I wanted to know about the score, since it's a new composer.

Reading between lines seems still a generic and derivative story (with boring parts and very slow first hour) and a rip-off of the first movie with water. I don't think real reviews will be so glowing like the reactions seems to be.

Also the buzz about the visual parts I don't know, they wrote the same for the first movie but I really didn't like Navi (can i say they're ugly?) and the world  created was with impressive cgi but still this universe is kinda of bland. I mean forests, water, rocks, some kind of dinosaurish creatures. Nothing so inventive even in that.

While it seems like the story is still quite simple, the main difference is that those who were indifferent/ didn’t like the original are now loving the sequel - (even the biggest avatar hater out there queen Grace Randolph)

Consensus so far seems to be: An even greater visual masterpiece, with stronger performances and a more intimate plot that heightens the emotional stakes compared to the original.

Peter Bradshaw of The guardian gave 3/5 stars to the first and he tweeted the sequel is worst. Let's see. I'm not trusting anymore of these first early reactions.
