terrorblade Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 great CGI beautiful CGI. ok story. Spider is hawt. but I still don't get how Kiri was born
joshhh Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Absolutely beautiful, but it really did feel like the exact same story/plot from the first movie but underwater?
Arcadius Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 The visuals were gorgeous and I loved a lot of the action scenes. I wasn't blown away by the film as I did feel it was a tad too long, but I did really enjoy it.
X~MoviePoP Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Loved it. Especially all the underwater scenes/people
Hiphopper Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Just like the first one, these movies only made for IMAX 3D. The visual is historic, the second one dethroned the first one as the best visual movie in history, and I'm sure it will be dethroned by the third one. Btw, I just left all the Easter eggs that reference James previous works, I mean calling Sigourney Weaver's character Alien. It's a genius line.

terrorblade Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 why can't I quote OMG @BadMonster inch resting. so, she's going to be the savior of Na'Vikind??
flower moon Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Saw it yesterday in 3d and loved it The underwater scenes were all incredible and it was a bit emotional tbh. The kids being the focus was great and they were all so likable (well, maybe not at first but...). Spider being an exception. Why did he do that..... I need to see it again in non-3d tho, as it's a bit distracting for me (even tho it's amazing and immersive.).
Haze Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 The first Avatar was the only film ever worth the 3D glasses, and now has been outdone by its follow up. It's so unbelievably gorgeous. Yes, the story is thin (and mostly because of its choice of villain) but when the entertainment value is this high, who cares. Not a single Marvel or dc movie has had a good plot, so i don't know why this is suddenly such a big standard for Avatar. It's an action blockbuster with heart and the most insane visuals ever. Cameron does set pieces so well. I was at the edge of my seat at certain points, with a thumping heartbeat. Some of the implications of the ecology and religion of Pandora are interesting too, i hope the other movies lean into that some more.

Da Vinci Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Interesting how critics gave No Way Home's plot holes and tacky dialogue ("Let's Scooby Doo this ****!") a pass but suddenly give a much higher standard for Avatar 2 Even The Force Awakens was literally A New Hope 2.0 and Endgame had a generic Saturday morning cartoon plot of heroes time traveling to save the world from the big bad guy but somehow Avatar needs to have a complex, mind-bending, never-been-done-before plot or else it's total crap!
Johnny Jacobs Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Well just as I thought.. Just like the first film, groundbreaking visuals but lackluster storyline It was better than the first one no doubt.

X~MoviePoP Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 SOMEONE PLZ MAKE A GIF OF QUEEN TSIREYA She is the moment!!!!!!!!!!
stevenisFADING Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 RT having this at less than 90% is fuc*ing wack. The critics are the ones that are rotten. Throw the reviews away. Anyways, I absolutely loved the film. Maybe moreso than the first. It was incredible. One scene in particular stood out for me and I wanted to stand up and scream YAAAAS. Poetic justice. Ugh. I can't wait for Avatar 3. I'm going to be watching this one again soon. Oh final note this didn't feel like a 3 hour movie at all. James Cameron doesn't lose! P.S. give us the Alita sequel!
Shazbaz13 Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 I loved this! Think I liked it more than the first. A lot to unpack and analyse too - its visuals are stunning. The 3D too was incredible.
Broken Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 It's underperforming in China. Well, it's over. If it fails to outgross No Way Home, even with China I—
Broken Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Tom Cruise really won . Biggest, most beloved and one of the most acclaimed movies of the year. Damn!
futurenostalgic Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Ugh... I loved it. F*** the critics here. It was really so immersive compared to any ***** mcu garb these critics slobber over. Is the covid mess still hurting theatres in China?
