Eóghan Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 A few hours left Y'all better stay off the internet all weekend; i've read some reviews and it's heavy
NavyBlue Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Are y’all READY?!?!? Cause ***** I am!!!! My girl Ruth about to kill everyone!
fridayteenage Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Well at least we got this: Cuz it looks like we're gonna get this again:
aayAlex Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 wendy being the best female character in like the last 5 years. an ICON
Outlaws Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Trying to avoid any spoilers because I'm halfway S3 now (yeah, I was late to the party), but just wanted to say this show is absolutely insane and terrifying. I love it so much. Both "The Gold Coast" and "Kevin Cronin Was Here" were just
fridayteenage Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 joins the likes of killing eve and game of thrones by having its last episode be the worst rated ep of the whole show on imdb.
Eóghan Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Finished my binge. God I'm gonna miss this show. Overall I liked season 4 but season 3 remains the peak of the show. As for the series finale, it's gonna be controversial as any other ending but I think the writers in this situation tried again to go against expectations and it failed. 1 hour ago, fridayteenage said: joins the likes of killing eve and game of thrones by having its last episode be the worst rated ep of the whole show on imdb. They let the wrong people live. Of course it's gonna get a visceral reaction.
Hector Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 (edited) What a wild ride of a season, I loved it Julia Garner will most likely win her third Best Supporting Drama Actress Emmy as she gave a great performance with Ruth showing growth this season. And Laura Linney gave an incredible performance, her versatility and range She'd be a worthy winner of Lead Drama Actress this year. At least with the ending, it's easier to connect the dots as to what probably occurred compared to The Sopranos. The spoiler function annoyingly isn't working for me but the way I gasped at the beginning and finale of part 2 Edited May 1, 2022 by Hector
Richie Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Spoiler alert isn’t activated. PLEASE DONT READ MY POST IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SPOILED. PLEASE DONT READ MY POST IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SPOILED. ugh I didn’t want that ending for Ruth :( I kept wishing for her redhead cousin to show up since he lives there. UGH.
Serendipity Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Unlike Killing Eve, I was actually not mad with the finale. I mean sure didn't want what happened to actually happen but it's different to most other endings and the theme, narrative all ties in. Was also fantastically shot - the cinematography, acting - ugh top notch
BuzzCharts Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 (edited) I enjoyed the final season. I see the reviews are mixed. Definitely can’t please everyone. The ending fit the overall theme of the show. Edited May 1, 2022 by BuzzCharts
FAN Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Incredibly final episodes except the car crash was so anticlimactic and I thought for sure Wendy was dead and then she got right back up like nothing happened.
NavyBlue Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 I still haven’t watched yet. Oh promised my bf I’d wait for him til he gets back from his work trip. It’s been so hard. This is true love. I hope he knows! He flies back in today tho. He better be ready !
FOCK Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 I thoroughly enjoyed this season and am sad it's come to an end, though the things I was hoping would happen didn't, and some of the decisions the characters made were questionable. I was hoping Marty would cave and tell Novarro about Camila behind Wendy's back - and I would've rather had the death of Camila play out with Novarro back in power. Her death would've been more satisfying than the way Novarro went out. Marty not picking up on the fact that it was Camilla who attempted to kill Novarro despite all the signs was also frustrating. It made no sense to me that the kids would want to stay with their grandpa. I get that that the show wanted to rehabilitate Wendy's persona a bit by showing she genuinely valued her children, but it was antithetical to her drive and excitement for the fundraising event. I didn't believe she would remain in a psych ward and miss the event had the kids not chosen to visit her and ultimately stay. After working so hard to get sober, why would Rachel put herself back into a casino environment. While it was nice to see her again, I didn't think her presence was necessary. Ruth finally turning her life around only to be killed. Wendy is such an iconic character, but I kinda wish she had gotten her comeuppance.
TimeAmpala Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Not sure how to spoiler-wrap this: I love Wendy so I love the ending as well. The genius behind the car crash scene being a red herring from the beginning of S4 being that you expect stuff like that to harm people like the Byrdes, but they always get away unscathed, plus the priest telling Wendy that maybe the previous warning given to her by God might be the last, but then she receives yet another sign and survives that one as well. I really liked the analysis of another person saying that the show doesn't even take the evil or good side, because an equal amount of good and bad people die, it takes the practical side. Wendy and Marty are the most practical people and that's why they make it out of every situation. I wish Camila was introduced earlier in the show, but she left her mark in the few episodes she was in.
TalkThatRihanna Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Not my favorite show ending **SPOILER** **SPOILER** Besides the weird ending of it going black when Jonah fired the gun (did they want us to think he shot one of the parents?), I really liked it I’m so happy the Byrds came out unscathed It was inch resting though that Marty didn’t seem to care for Ruth like at all? Also the loose tie with Maya
jakeisphat Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 I'm really going to miss this show. The finale definitely wasn't what I expected. I thought it would be much more brutal but I'm satisfied with how it concluded. Veronica is so good at playing cartel queenpins. It would have been nice for her to be on the show longer. The part where she confronted Claire at the gala has to be one of my favorites from this season. The way she didn't even have to give full instructions to her henchman. She was like, "see that girl over there," and he already knew the assignment. Overall it was a good finale.
