It's likely that filming of Mean Girls just impacted too much and she's probably got some big (unannounced) projects coming up. The cast seems close behind the scenes. Particularly Reneé and Alyah.

She’s releasing her album in September and has a sold out tour so that’s likely her focus. And since they haven’t filmed S3 yet, I definitely don’t blame her. With the writer’s strike going on, they likely don’t even have a firm shoot date.

i feel like renee is just playing renee, i felt there was no leighton there. am i the only one? I thought it was a decent premiere. excited for season 3!

I kinda agree! She didn't feel like Leighton at all.

agreed! though I think she's doing them a favor by showing up at all – she's probably not even going to be in much of the season, from what I gather. she's just showed up to set to be written off gracefully.

 

with Leighton gone, Whitney and Lila are now the stars for me. Bela is solid, as well. I just cannot stand Kimberly (lol) — though that's sort of the point I think. she redeems herself occasionally.

They drop the ball with these crazy ass wait. It's not that important of a show to have to wait 2 years for 10 episodes. 
 

Fun start but I kind of don't care anymore.
