TheRealGâteau Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 How are people already complaining in this thread and handing out awards for most hated character? This is no deep show. Just enjoy it for what it is: an easy and escapist romcom series.
Lovett Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Reneé Rapp (Leighton) has released the music video to her latest single and it features Alyah Chanelle Scott (Whitney).
Scandalous Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 i love this show so much, i wish the season had more than 10 eps
Michaelnsync Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 It’s got a season 3. And the cliffhangers. Lol I need more.
ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted December 16, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted December 16, 2022 Bela really made some interesting choices this season. Overall, I didn't feel as though season 2 was as funny, but I did find it very enjoyable and am perched for season 3. They've set up some great conflict!
Anye Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 A mess. The indian girl is the worst. Overall bad season. season 1 was good.
Scandalous Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 i love this show and it’s fun to watch but yeah it felt like s2 was just too fast paced, none of their connections or relationships stuck around long enough for me to really care…it’s like they planned out storylines for 10 hour-long eps and then were told they had to make 30-min eps instead hope next season either gets a bigger episode count or longer eps

They BURNED through plot like it was nothing. I'm happy they got renewed though!
ATRL Moderator Samson Posted December 18, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted December 18, 2022 I enjoyed this season but the pacing is really all over the place thank god they renewed it because if that were the finale I'd be so mad
D/X Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 (edited) Twitter went from "omg we love the girls", "best show", "episodes should've been 60 minutes" to "WORST FINALE", "THEY RUINED IT", villainizing Kimberly lmao. And I'm sorry but this season went from kinda lame episodes where 15 out of 30 minutes were random ass shots of the Essex University with background H&M music while each scene being literal 1 minute TikToks, horrid editing and Mindy Kaling (and her The Office crush) self-inserting extravaganza, to tie all the plots, add drama (finally) and even make emotional scenes towards the end. Last 2 episodes were the best from the entire series. Edited December 19, 2022 by D/X
mxoonlight Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 I can't really take the show seriously enough to critique it, but yeah, S2 was kind of a flop :/ The new relationships were a waste of time.
Katy V.! Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 I'm honestly surprised at the reactions here (I shouldn't since ATRL is mostly awful takes tbh). This is such a great show with amazing and DEEP writing. I guess it's also what happened with Portia on The White Lotus, people hate to see a flawed, messy, honest version of "themselves" instead of the idealized version we often see on TV. I do agree with the basic white boys as romantic interests criticism, though.
ccfan007 Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 RT scores dont lie season two: critic: 91%, User: 92% [/spolier]
Sombre Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 Season 2 was enjoyable, but too fast paced. The script felt like it was written/edited on the go. The writers do not know what to do with Kimberly at all, her character development cannot simply be that the hottest students apparently find her super attractive and she just hops from one guy to the other. I remember not liking Whitney in season 1 but damn, she was my favourite character in season 2. Great character development. Leighton was also enjoyable to watch. No comment on Bela tbh. They need better scripts and longer episodes per season, because Bela turning from an ambitious and driven person to being utterly pretentious felt too sudden.
Whis Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Started this yesterday and just finished season 1 I LOVED IT The girls are so likeable I stan!
monologueNacafe Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 I feel like if you sign up to do a show you should commit to it unless there's some insurmountable drama behind the scenes...

It's likely that filming of Mean Girls just impacted too much and she's probably got some big (unannounced) projects coming up. The cast seems close behind the scenes. Particularly Reneé and Alyah.
