all that effort for the sims 4 is simply not worth it. I bought a PSP to play the absolute AMAZING Sims 2 port and I'm having fun with that instead

anyone know how to fix sims 2 super collection crashes on mac? it literally crashes every 5 to 10 minutes on me

I've followed the topic of this issue for a while (basically, if you get ~500 sims in a save game, it gets corrupted) but I ijbol'd at these examples. 

 

If you enter a corrupted save, then load a different save, the corruption will spread to that save just like in Sims 2 with the houses bin. You need to restart the game and then enter an unaffected save to make sure it stays safe. Just like Sims 2, don't transfer sims / houses from a corrupted save to another one because they will spread it over. I assume that's what happened with the "clean save" example. 

 

But of course certain youtubers have already went on with the dramatic doomsday videos.

Apparently random lots will not be playable anymore / crash if you try to load them. 

Took almost 10 years to discover this bug and Maxis knows of it (I think they actually requested broken save files at one point to further investigate this) so I'm curious how this story will end. 

 

I need to count how many pre-made Maxis sims exist if you have all DLCs installed. If it's less than 300 then I've got some questions for the folks who encounter this bug lol.

how is the Sims 2 running for everyone?  my version crashes all the time but I have HQ formats added to it and 4GB Graphic card ruler to make my Sims series in very HQ like its better quality than the Sims 3 & 4. 

 

 

Like look how perfect he looks   but i wouldn't mind getting it off stream but worried it wont be good Quality like my Sims 2 one

Ultimate Collection with Graphics Ruler + 4gb patch works perfect for me 

I also have mods to chop 90% of the pre-made maxis sims ("there-can-only-be-one-professor" for example).

Don't have CC atm. Lost my folder from COVID days. Had ~150GB of stuff, mostly recolors that were compressed together so they were really small in file size. 

I play on maxed out graphics and my laptop stays dead silent. Battery gives me almost 5 hours before it drains out. An absolute dream of a setup compared to other games where I get like, 2 hours max.

oh thats great news   i might actually purchase it on stream and move over the cc/characters and 4gb Patch stuff and give it a go without effecting the Sims 2 copy incase it don't work.  Because my one will always crash if I have anything else running beside OBS and my computer plays more intense games   like I can never save a game and more onto next set I always have to restart it so it wouldnt flash pink

Update on the Sims 1 vibe in Sims 4 video:

 

- Indeed to recreate this you need to use the debug invisible lights. I used the 1x1 ceiling light.

- I set Lighting on low and it didn't seem to do much? Only difference is I don't have the sun rays through the windows.

- The camera effect is either a pixel perfect position or some sort of camera mod. I'm not really aware of Sims 4 camera mods tho.

- I can't recreate the added bloom on the lights. I used the same items with the same swatches and in my game it's not as dramatic even when I placed doubles in the same spot. This has to be some sort of subtle re-shade.

 

Also that build is incredibly dumb, sims can barely access the sofas and don't get me started on the bathroom that's only accessible via a bedroom.

Why would anyone attack randoms from r/lowsodiumsimmers and then defend the spyware-infested perma-paywalled CC on patron. We actually have documented evidence of folks who were doxxed due to this.

Ok So I don't think I'll get the new EP then, since it has a similar split residentials and businesses feature which is similar to the same thing causing others to get corrupted saves in TS4

Pleasantly surprised at the Gameplay trailer being 7 minutes long. Still not sure about it, some of the features are pretty identical to the retail system in GTW. But I'm looking forward to having the ability to run different venues like a bar, nightclub, gym etc... and they have shown off some of the cross pack features too which I quite liked.
