It's official, Sims 1/2 re-release are upon us.

Hoping that those of us who still own the CD-ROM versions of these games won't have to pay, I still have the entire TS1 and TS2 collections in a cupboard somewhere…but this is EA so of course we will!

If it really is exactly the same experience but made to automatically detect modern hardware, I'll stick to Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. I don't even use any visual mods, the 2004 graphics are a vibe for me.

I know the Super Collection exists (doesn't have the 2008 DLCs) so I'm curious if this re-release will add them to mac or not.

At the moment the main drama seems to be if the H&M and IKEA dlcs will be included or not. You pretty much cannot decorate a modern house without IKEA stuff and a lot of CC is based on that DLC so it would be awful if we lose it.

I actually really like the new DLCs. Deep bold color swatches but as usual crumbs for masculine sims.

The new sofa screams modular to me tho, I feel like the creator wanted to do that but EA said no.

if EA thinks im uninstalling my *cough*1llg4lly d0wnl04d3d*cough* copy of the sims 2 with several mods and CC installed to spend 80€ (minimum im assuming since they're greedy) for a poorly remastered rerelease that probably will be full of bugs then they better think again

probably licensing issues, it took them a decade to re-release the game, i don't think they want to negotiate anymore

Maybe any contract of partnership between EA and IKEA has expired and they have no right to release it? The same reason why Katy Perry Sweet Treats isn't available for 3
