Argentina WIN | 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar ??

This is getting interesting, so far we have:

North/Central America: (1) - USA

South America: (2) - Argentina, Brazil

Europe: (7) - Netherlands, England, Poland, France, Spain, Croatia, Portugal

Asia: (2) - Japan, South Korea

Oceania: (1) - Australia (although they classified as the Asian Confederation)

Africa: (2) - Senegal, Morocco

I would love for Cameroon to advance but it is going to be very hard. So Europe will end with 8 countries (either Serbia or Switzerland). That's still half of the spots but at least it is a little more balanced. This is what happened in previous tournaments:

                                            2018     2014     2010    2006

North/Central America             1           3           2           1

South America                          4           5           5           3

Europe                                      10          6           6          10

Asia                                            1           0           2            0

Oceania                                     0           0           0            1

Africa                                         0           2           1             1

Even tough less Europeans teams made it in 2014 and 2010, this year is more balanced (mainly due to America as a whole flopping)

I think it's because their best player (from what I've seen) is Bruno Fernandes, but they didn't play him today because he already has a yellow card and they don't want him to get another yellow card and miss the next match. And they also probably didn't really care once Uruguay was up 2-0 and they were guaranteed 1st. Whether or not they let it happen, it worked out for South Korea :gaycat2:

Yes, yes.

Oh, the Koreans!

They are really thirsty for success. The way the whole stadium erupted. That one fan with the Emperor costume was tearing up. I live.

On the other hand, Suarez was hiding his face under his jersey. Ronaldo acted like "oh-well".

As a Portuguese and sane Koreaboo  omg this game :bibliahh:

And the way SK is playing against another Portuguese speaking country next game :lmao:

I hope to see Neymar crying like Suarez :razzle:

I'm literally shaking. Asian excellence is pulling through

Well done to S Korea.

Rooting for Cameroon even though the chances are slim. But this has been an unpredictable world cup and I live for the underdogs thriving. :gayorkcat2:

Would be nice to see Cameroon win 2-0 and Switzerland win 2-0, then we'd have Brazil vs Portugal next round :eli:

Spain and Portugal are honorary Latin Americans this year. Europe can have the gringos.

I had to compose myself before coming back online. That assist from Sonny was legendary. What an epic win. Bye Uruguay. Deserved.

Very happy for SK, what an unexpected turn of events, truly the year of the underdogs.

Rooting for Asian and African teams.

With Portugal and France losing their last matches, Brazil is the only one left that have a chance to classify with 9 points.
