Desire Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Omg ep 4 was amazing I just knew there would be a third personality and that tomb showing up at the end just confirmed it. Hopefully they don't free it, I feel like it's evil especially since it hasn't let itself be known to Marc or Steven. The hippo? at the end was such a kii. Can't wait to find out who it is next episode. This is me once again asking for a jonny. we need it

I'm actually hoping it comes out soon, I wonder hot it'd change the dynamic now that Steven and Marc are mostly on good terms. And yes, we definitely need more MCU jonny! I'm also loving Layla. Such a good character, I would've never imagined!

Amazing, hands down the best one so far for me We were pretty in sync for the last episodes but this one idk. Overall I liked it mostly due to the twist in the ending, but the writing is . That Layla vs. The guys in the jeep standoff was so bad, as was the deserted camp (so for some reason EVERYONE got inside the tomb) and the fact that those mummy things were literally killing big guys with guns but somehow were fought off by the her and the lamest of MK personalities The setting change to the asylum and that second sarcophagus got me hooked back though but so far I am ranking it as the worst of the MCU D+ series.

Fun fact, Taweret is also the god from the statue in Lost.

I'm probably biased because I'm a huge fan fo The Mummy (1999) and I hoped the series went full on tomb raiding/mummies, but I really really liked this episode. I'm still not sold on the series though for many reasons, but at least I got the episode I expected them to make. The Layla VS jeep part was very bad though. It was almost comical how she defeat them. Edited April 20, 2022 by Hephaestus

publikcitizen Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 The last 10 minutes or so were very trippy. Can't wait for next week already! Only two more episodes left
nathanspears Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 I'm obsessed with the hippo queen. Episode 4 was better but still not good.
Gorjesspazze9 Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 After last week I was worried, but this was Amazing! It really felt like Wandavision’s episode 4, where we finally break into a more MCU like show. The Plot Twist really brought back the excitement I’ve missed from episode 1. Spoiler I wouldn’t be surprised if the psych ward is in the actual MCU reality and Marc has just been delusional this whole time. Still have no idea how the hippo factors in? but this kinda makes sense since we had no major MCU timeline connections yet. Layla got a lot of great scenes and the Alexander the Great storyline was so cool to see. I don’t know how they will wrap this up
WildAmerican Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 (edited) me to the MCU, Kevin Feige, Oscar Isaac , Ethan Hawke, and the creators of this show after the reveal / ending sequence of this episode Edited April 20, 2022 by WildAmerican
mokitsu Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 yeah this is a miss for me after three episodes it just doesn't get anywhere close to good. sucks cuz i was really looking forward to it. the writing is just terrible
nathanspears Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 I feel like I'm in the minority with this but... I feel the praise for Oscar's acting is a bit much. He's an actor... playing different people is his job... why are people acting like he's the next coming of Christ with his acting because he can play two completely different people? I'm definitely happier with episode 4 but this is still definitely the worst MCU TV show so far for me. I can't stand the writing in general but specifically the way Stephen is written. I can't get over how annoying he is and the bloody (pun intended) accent. He just doesn't click with me. I am still intrigued to see how this fits in with the wider MCU and Phase 4

This is definitely one of the weakest MCU series so far for various reasons, I don't get the praise. It's almost like people forgot how good the best MCU series were (WandaVision, Loki). This is bottom tier in all honesty.

Hephaestus Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 5th episode was great, finally some backstory on their mental condition (and a really good one at that). No idea how the story will wrap up in just one episode, there's still so much to go through. I wouldn't be surprised if we got another half assed finale in true Disney+'s MCU shows fashion.
SleepingTigers Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 In terms of PG-13 Disney Marvel stuff, stuff they talked about without showing(since that’d make the rating go tv-ma) was pretty dark for current day MCU. Oscar Isaac absolutely KILLED it this episode even more than usual. Curious what the hell they have cooked up for episode 6.
Blood Magic Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 Oscar Isaac is just amazing This was definitely my favorite episode so far
Gorjesspazze9 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 I like Oscar’s performance, but half the time watching this I almost fell asleep. This episode was ok. It’s just the writing and plot isn’t really engaging. An emotional episode for sure, but this show has been lacking good action and drive. The most interesting parts are when he is in the psych ward. 6/10
chris1991 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 (edited) Wow what an episode! Prob the best from all Marvel shows we’ve seen this far in my opinion. Large part of this is due to Oscar’s performance, he is ******* amazing! Emmy incoming! The emotion behind this felt real and not tied to the cheesiness it typically comes from a marvel serious scene. The last shot was beautifully as well! Edited April 27, 2022 by chris1991
boys Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 This is definitely Oscar in episode 5 cause baby he was SELLING IT
nathanspears Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Episode 5 was definitely the technical best but I’m still not interested enough in the character tbh. It was a very dark and depressing episode.
