NoAngelus Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Not Marion Bartoli saying she had private conversation with people from Novak's team and they told her he is done, he doesn't wanna practice or play anymore. 44 minutes ago, Gui Blackout said: Omg what a choke from Naomi this one will sting Hopefully she keeps on this fire for the rest of the season tho And I wish I didn't see this because I can't stand Iga and she is luckiest player ever born. Luck is always on her side.
Marla Singer Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Iga dragging the crowd after the match. What a great match, hopefully Osaka climbs up the rankings again because matches like that should be played in a final, not in R2. There's no reason why Osaka can't play at a high level on clay or grass and hopefully she proved it to herself today. Iga did well to cling on and wait for Osaka's level to dip, which is all you can really do when someone is playing like that. I also watched Nadal's match. It's a shame he drew Zverev in R1 because he looked good enough to make a deep run and beat most other players in the draw. I don't know if he's able to qualify for the Olympics Singles draw but I would not rule him out of being able to win a medal there if he skips Wimbledon.

It looks like there's two spots for Legacy gold medalist / Grand Slam champion: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennis_at_the_2024_Summer_Olympics_–_Qualification. Those are almost certainly going to Nadal and Andy Murray. Imho, I didn't think Rafa was capable to win a slam at this stage of his career. I don't think he is built to go Bo5 anymore. However, I think he can still win one of the clay warm-ups in July (I think he will enter into Hamburg) and/or the Olympics. 1
Sensation Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Rune and Ruud won in 5 Baez, Bublik, Tiafoe, Navone, Khachanov, Kasatkina, Collins, Kostyuk, Ostapenko, Noskova were among the seeds to lose today
Sensation Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Day 6 schedule Chatrier Gauff v Yastremska Kotov v Sinner Swiatek v Bouzkova Alcaraz v Korda Lenglen Samsonova v Cocciaretto Rublev v Arnaldi Fernandez v Jabeur Tsitsipas v Zhang
pride4jc1222 Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Djokovic's win over Baena and de Minaur's win over Munar should clinch Nadal's spot in the Olympics. Baena and Munar can't make the Top 56 in the world rankings needed for automatic qualification, which means the 4th singles spot for Spain can be given to Rafa.
Sensation Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Arnaldi d. Rublev in straights Sinner, Tsitsipas won Gauff, Swiatek, Jabeur, Potapova too
