Honkai faces direct, heavy competition in its niche market (TB JRPGS) and must constantly strive to be better, and appeal to the audience to retain #1 spot.

 

Genshin's team has quite literally zero competition in its niche market and they have NO incentive to be as generous. It's just the basic bare bone truth.

ot: anyway yeah quite the PR disaster for genshit and the thing is the game DOES have competition unlike what people keep claiming. It's already been shown that hsr and genshit communities vastly overlap so they are already direct competitors. Genshit then also competes with other RPGs (reminder it's a "BOTW copy"), it competes with her gachas and IG other story driven games but I think this is truly where genshit kinda has no competiton, the thing we have 2/3 patches a year with a lot of story and then it's 9months of dry nothing.

What is specially horrendous with genshit is they sell characters but then provide absolutely no content for you to use them. Why are my characters killing mobs in the overworld with 1/2 skills and then used in the abyss once every 2 weeks? Why is the end content of the game literally farm to improve characters that i use twice a month? Then you have a whole TGC mode that is a completely almost anti-genre of the game for some reason that literally nobody gaf obviously and a teapot type of content that is irrelevant because you fill up the furniture limit in a few minutes and it takes HOURS to craft furniture. Genshit's biggest threat is itself because they dont quite know what they are selling anymore and are slowly and surely losing their player base. It might not seem big enough to make a dent but it's a slow, silent death and once more interesting comes along and people switch boats it will be hard to get the players back because they will remember insults like 5 primogem rewards, and 100 primogem lotteries for millions of players and having just enough STD wishes to reach pity 2/3 times a year for items that are all pretty much rendered useless by newer more powerful items or just a chance at getting starting characters that for some reason are the rarest in the game. It's just years of lazyness and extreme frugalness that just gets you tired...

Literally... Chlomidia looks like some Raiden 4* downgrade, Sigewinne is cute at best and Chiori's design is so washed out
