Don't worry, eventually you will pull and get new charcaters and weapons and you will see a big improvement in little time. As for you team and weapons I would recommend Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers for Sucrose (3* star and very easy to max out and obtain), for Xingqiu his best option is Sacrifical Sword and once you have refinement 5 you always get Xingqiu's ult immediately for next rotation but you will eventually get there.

 

As for Xiangling, do not worry, you will get one of the best 4*star weapons (The Catch) in the game when you get to Inazuma and you get the ability to fish, that being said it's going to be a chore to get the refinements, but trust me it's worth it and you will notice the difference. And do not worry about character talents and stuff, you will eventually clear content easily and will start to focus on their talents and artifacts, I remember it was a working progress to level my Ningguang's talents 
(queen carried me for the longest).

 

As for who to pull everyone will tell you just pull for whoever you like, you will eventually get a decent roaster of characters and you can clear basically all content with any character. That being said do not pull for Itto if you are not going to be commited to it's playstyle for example. There are very universal units like Kokomi, Zhongli, Nahida, Raiden which are very useful in general and have an overall nice utility. If you are 100% F2P I would just say pull for whoever really makes you happy to have

 

As for Yaoyao she's a good unit but I would recomment not spending things on her now because you might not have the "ingridients" to make Dendro shine for now. Rosaria tho would be a nice unit to build and her gameplay is very satisfactory. You can give her that dragon polearm from Dragonspine (the craftable one) if you want to onfield her since her multipliers aren't that bad.

 

As for spending a lil money the Welkin is definitely the better option. You can spend when you need that extra push in primos if you really want an unit. As for primos the best way is to do the events, but if you miss some do not worry, but every update the give out three codes to redeem on the same day and it's like 300 primos or so it's nice. Btw about weapons make sure you go to the forge and craft those pink crystlas for leveling up weapons, if you do it everyday you will start hoarding a  good amount.

 

Overall do not worry to much your experience has been the same for many, focus on doing things like reputayion on the cities and missions and exploring.

So I heard right that Inazuma is a good place now. I wonder what will be the conditions for free Bennet in Fontaine, cause I might have to speed it up to go through previous regions before the update

 

It's interesting, because before I came back now, my main was Ningguang. Granted I had no idea what I'm doing when it comes to adding stats to her, her ult was reloading fast for me and she was doing ok damage. That being said I really got tired of her and geo is just.. not my element so she stays vaulted for now.

 

I think I will just pull for Kokomi. She is universally acclaimed, gorgeous as **** (fell in love with her doing the new event ) and I love Hydro + I really don't stan anyone from Fontaine trailer  The designs/characters are boring apart from Lyney, but pyro bow is not something I could care about much. But I assume there is also gonna be hydro archon introduced in some 4.x update right? Do we know anything about that character?

 

Yeah that's what I thought about Dendro, I also got Collei from Abyss, but he seems worse than Yaoyao anyway. I keep seeing how supposedly OP is Nahida so if I want to be future Burgeon/Hyperbloom I'll probably wait till we get her banner.

 

I don't think I will buy anything apart from Welkin ever, it's a good motivation to keep me playing a bit daily while being cheap. The rest seems like a scam  That being said, if I am to pay 100$ for an AAA title nowadays and spend 50h to finish it, I might as well spend similar amount of Genshin which in the long run will give me hundreds of ours of gameplay.

also i didnt read the rest of the essay (sorry im senile) but most important is keeping your chars leveled/weapons too and then artis just pick up atk% and level don't bother going for ideal builds/stats. if you ever feel like the games too hard you can go to the top left of the main menu and click the world level and decrease for 24hr. you can do this for as long as you feel the gamem might be too hard.

id say go to Sumeru (it’s not quest locked or AR locked) and unlock Dendro traveller. Try to go for Yelan, and build your Yao Yao. Having access to reliable Dendro comps will boost you ability to clear content as Dendro is less resource heavy than the other comps and relies on reaction dmg way more than other comps(character level and EM matter most basically). The tricky thing for Yelan is you will need to find a friend low enough AR with it unlocked to start fully building her ascension wise. Yao Yao you should be completely fine and can even invite someone to help you fight the cube. 
 

you could do a Sucrose Fischl Xingiu Yao Yao team,  and then a Dendro traveller Yelan Lisa (just put ER on her but if you have any other electro 4 characters besides Fischl let us know because that opens up a lot more options since I assume you only have Fischl and Lisa) and Barbara team. Rosaria and Xiangling will also be great to open up other possible reaction comps if you are interested. I don’t know your full roster of 4 stars so some of these characters could be replaceable. Personally I say wait for a main dps you actually LIKE not necessarily force yourself to play a character just to fill a spot on your team. You can probably clear the game with the characters you already have with time. 
 

 

This is interesting, because from what I've seen online Childe is supposedly difficult to play to get good out of him.

 

I already entered Sumeru a bit, cause I caved in and Quick Started the new event (thank God I did, its great) and I love it so might really head there now and learn sumth about Dendro, it seems like a perfect element for me to eventually main. This idea sounds pretty good and I like Yelan from what I've seen, but her rerun isn't confirmed so we will see about that.

 

I don't have any other electros. I now have Collei and Layla as well cause i did event + abyss yesterday, but they seem to be flops. I would probably like Raiden and she seems to have a rerun coming, but she is a very mixed bag here

Another questions I have!

 

Are the previous wishes/pity saved forever? What I mean is that, I can see the history only from like past 6 months, but is the fact that I rolled much more before saved in their data? I am fairly confident I wished like 30/40 times on each of the banners and considering I never got any 5 star anything, surely in next 40/50 wishes Id be getting 5 star on each. Unless they reset because I haven't been active in 2 years

 

Are there some events re-runs too? I quick-started the current theme park one (I was scared to spoil some plot, but said **** it) and it was so fun to do and all the enemies were so much easier than anything on the outside world + there was tons of primos too. It's such a shame a cool af location like this just disappears forever after the event is over. How often to these events even happen?

 

Do characters sometimes get reworked - both fixed and nerfed, if yes, does it happen often and is it announced prior?

Yeah I believe it carries, it just doesn't show on the history but it does. No there aren't event reruns as in for example the summer ones, you can watch the cut scenes on YT if you're interested.

Freeze is definitely getting nerfed because they are making enemies more and more resistant to freeze, but Kokomi can be slottted in many comps to do reactions and heal. Layla is ok, she has like the second strongest shield in the game I believe and it's fairly easy to build and affordable. If you pull for Kokomi you have an incredible free weapon in prototyoe amber that you can craft, if you are able refine it so she can get her ult easier. Collei is fine she can do her job and I'd say if you want someone to apply dendro might be a better option to build than Yao yao since she summons a little field and it's easier to control what you want to achieve with the element application.

 

Please tell us if you get kokoqueen, from panned flop to meta queen

Yes the pity is saved forever. It's really dumb that history is lost after 6 months. You can't recover the lost records but people use this website that if you are on PC/Mobile, don't think PS is possible) you can import your history. It will calculate your pity for you and give stats on how lucky you are.

The events don't rerun at all which is sad since some of them have relevant story points like the event in 1.1. 

 

During the beta periods for the next patch, a character can see their kit changed and either nerfed/buffed every week which causes some hilarious moments in this thread. The actual beta testers are under NDA but people can get their hands on the client and datamine the changes to the kits which usually get reported over on the leaks reddit. After the release of a character in the release version, they don't get buffed/nerfed in the traditional sense however some characters might see renaissance periods due to other characters releasing that synergize well or specifically with Sumeru the release of Dendro brought so many older characters back into viability. Kokomi was a mega-panned flop at release but then they started making content that she'd excel at after she came out for example.

 

Zhongli was changed post-release because the Chinese players completely lost their **** since Liyue is based on China and Zhongli is their Archon. That's the only time that happened and it was early days in Genshin, I doubt they will do it again.

nnnnn it's a mix of beta leaks and internal mihoyo leaks. there was a mega leak a few months ago that revealed the entire fontaine cast and future characters after fontaine. mihoyo has terrible security and/or the employees spill the beans a lot 

 

the streets say that furina has some party HP reduction mechanic and buffs characters but we will find out more soon. we're getting neuvillette kit leaks now so i guess in the middle of patch 4.0 we will start getting real reliable furina kit leaks.
