Once again thanks everyone who helped me following the previous post, but I'm back with more thoughts and questions if that's ok

 

I just finished Liyue Archon quest and it's been truly amazing. I wasn't fully sold on Mondstadt storyline as it felt a bit corny at times, but things are already getting so much spicier and more interesting. I'm immersed in the story and exploration of the world to its fullest so meta team for Abyss is really not my priority (probably for a long time). That being said, what I have rn is not enough for my basic needs as well  I remember when I started playing back in 2020 the AR was going much slower? Now literally whatever I do it seems to be jumping daily (granted I am still just AR 34 or so rn, it's still definitely faster than I recall). Everything was pretty smooth until I jumped on World Level 3, which happened automatically at AR30. Thankfully I already know that AR35+/WL4 is locked behind Ascension Quest 2 so I won't be touching that anytime soon, but the jump from 2 to 3 has been a bit rough on me  My Xingqiu / Xiangling / Fischl / Sucrose can do fine for "common" enemies that don't have much health. If I throw all their skills and bursts one after another, they create enough elemental reactions to wipe what's around. But if some enemy has way above average health, it's over. In between cooldowns I struggle to deal like ANY damage with any character and even ignoring the cooldowns, my bursts are just not filling fast enough. I tried to put focus on energy recharge, but with my shitty pre-AR45 artifacts it's all just so mere. My weapons are also crap, the YouTube guides don't even mention them and my only alternatives are the ones that I can forge which are still seemingly crap. On top of that a lot of people are saying that weapon upgrading is the best source of DPS increase, but I felt like getting one weapon to just level 40 consumed like most of my 1 / 2 / 3 stars ones when I thought I collected so many already since I opened about 1000 chests in the game going just by achievements, let alone other random sources  I'm a bit frightened, cause being F2P (for most at least) requires me to be very resourceful. I'm hearing some of good gear can be obtained in Inazuma which is where I'm heading now, but is that even true to any of my characters? This all has especially turned out to be a travesty when fighting Childe/Tartaglia at the end of geo archon, I just ended up switching Fischl for Barbra (you might ask why not switch Xingqiu, but I kinda like him idk, don't like removing him  also my barbra is c1 idk how lmao)  so she could heal me enough to somehow go through this very chore of a battle. And I know it's only gonna get worse from now on. I also upgraded pretty much all of the said character talents to level 3/4. But this really was annoying as hell already when fighting some big Fatui, I feel embarrassed  

 

So I guess my conclusion is that I really need good on field DPS that works well with shitty F2P weapon or some other character to carry me for foreseeable future? I went through the upcoming characters @Fevesy suggested and Lyney is def not for me. I've heard good things about Yelan and If I wanted my team to lean towards one element, I'd pick hydro, so maybe that's a good pick? Going further Childe is also nice pick, especially for my potentially good national. Zhongli I've heard good things, but I'm not interested tbh. So I went back to look at the current banner again and these options seem very tempting right now. Both Kokomi and Wanderer seem to have nice exploration team perks and can serve as main DPS - I know Kokomi is better as support, but either way I keep hearing that she can basically carry me for the longest, cause her healing is insane too (unless that -100% crit thing she has is really as bad as it sounds). She is also drop dead gorgeous, I want to stan  I'm seeing Wanderer getting panned and his flying ability (which really sells him for me) is messy cause it extends his hitbox not removing the parts below him when he's up + him easily stacking hits and getting thrown around if many enemies target him one by one. But he seems to be much more DPS oriented. Idk how F2P friendly he is though and how much do I have to boost him for him to really do the work. Also whom either of them would be replacing in my team, granted my least fave rn is Fischl, but her skill and burst really reload the fastest for me and that static electro putting raven is really nice to add to elemental reactions. Sucrose on the other hand is pure joy to play with and I wouldn't want to drop her. I can let go of Xingqiu ig? and I assume Xiangling stays for sure. Also you guys told me that Bennett is coming for free in 4.0 so I 100% should make room for him.

 

There is a third, more far fetched idea growing in my mind. I mentioned that I got Yaoyao (when I came back to the game now I saw that I have some random wishes and got even more from **** in my inbox etc so I just wished it all cause I didn't think I'd really start playing and got Yaoyao and Rosaria lol) and someone here suggested that I should try her, cause Dendro slays... and I tried and it low key does  These Dendro cores are so cute and I'd love to explore that one day, but I don't think what I have right now would be suitable for a good Burgeon/Hyperbloom team right, so I probably shouldn't waste resources on Yaoyao, cause she can't do much on her own.

 

Over these past few days I accumulated like 6k primo and random wishes, I plan to go as strong this week overall so considering I have literally never ******* pulled a 5 star anything this far, surely I'll accumulate enough by the end of this banner run to get what I want (thank God I still have some time left to decide). Speaking of, I know of primos from codes, I did some stupid web game today as well, also caved in and bought blessing of the welkin moon or whatever dd, but are there any other opportunities and how is it best to stay updated with all these to not miss anything?

Do not worry, I think most F2P had the same struggle. There's that awkward point of mid game that we all struggle with, I remember also struggling with certain Fatui enemies and other bosses. You know you have the option of lowering the world level and there's no shame in it, I actually did it when I was in Inazuma and it was the best decission ever.

 

Don't worry, eventually you will pull and get new charcaters and weapons and you will see a big improvement in little time. As for you team and weapons I would recommend Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers for Sucrose (3* star and very easy to max out and obtain), for Xingqiu his best option is Sacrifical Sword and once you have refinement 5 you always get Xingqiu's ult immediately for next rotation but you will eventually get there.

 

As for Xiangling, do not worry, you will get one of the best 4*star weapons (The Catch) in the game when you get to Inazuma and you get the ability to fish, that being said it's going to be a chore to get the refinements, but trust me it's worth it and you will notice the difference. And do not worry about character talents and stuff, you will eventually clear content easily and will start to focus on their talents and artifacts, I remember it was a working progress to level my Ningguang's talents 
(queen carried me for the longest).

 

As for who to pull everyone will tell you just pull for whoever you like, you will eventually get a decent roaster of characters and you can clear basically all content with any character. That being said do not pull for Itto if you are not going to be commited to it's playstyle for example. There are very universal units like Kokomi, Zhongli, Nahida, Raiden which are very useful in general and have an overall nice utility. If you are 100% F2P I would just say pull for whoever really makes you happy to have

 

As for Yaoyao she's a good unit but I would recomment not spending things on her now because you might not have the "ingridients" to make Dendro shine for now. Rosaria tho would be a nice unit to build and her gameplay is very satisfactory. You can give her that dragon polearm from Dragonspine (the craftable one) if you want to onfield her since her multipliers aren't that bad.

 

As for spending a lil money the Welkin is definitely the better option. You can spend when you need that extra push in primos if you really want an unit. As for primos the best way is to do the events, but if you miss some do not worry, but every update the give out three codes to redeem on the same day and it's like 300 primos or so it's nice. Btw about weapons make sure you go to the forge and craft those pink crystlas for leveling up weapons, if you do it everyday you will start hoarding a  good amount.

 

Overall do not worry to much your experience has been the same for many, focus on doing things like reputayion on the cities and missions and exploring.

@BlackoutZone also if you decide to build Rosaria you can easily pair her with Fischl and create superconduct. That will allow you to use Rosaria onfield and see bigger physical numbers, and you can craft the crescent pike polearm for her. So you can try that if you want to change it up a bit from your usual team and have a more "on-field" unit.

 

If not you can always use Xingqiu, Xiangling, Sucrose and Rosaria and make a melt team comp. I have to say queen has a really fun playstyle, her E skill is so satisfactory to use

if you thought that sh\te was good just wait until the sumeru collapse 

 

also i didnt read the rest of the essay (sorry im senile) but most important is keeping your chars leveled/weapons too and then artis just pick up atk% and level don't bother going for ideal builds/stats. if you ever feel like the games too hard you can go to the top left of the main menu and click the world level and decrease for 24hr. you can do this for as long as you feel the gamem might be too hard.
