I still don't know how to feel about Baizhu, I believe he will still be valuable because he is dendro and his role consolidating potential. I think he will be good in aggravate/spread team comps like Cyno's, Keqing's, Tighnari's and Alhaitham's (even on-field Yae), specially in single target scenarios, but that doesn't mean you cannot pair him with a second dendro. Maybe he is also nice for quickbloom although I'm not sure.

 

He will still be usable in Nilou's bloom if you don't have Kaveh or Yaoyao to tank/heal the rupture damage, tho you will need DMC or Nahida (which you usually run two dendro's so it's not a big deal). He can also allow Nahida to run Gilded Dreams for max EM buff and damage when pair with her so that's a plus too.

After rereading his kit, I think he's not as good as I initially thought.

He can only generate a shield every 2.5 seconds, so if you're relying on him to give you reliable interruption resistance it's not happening.

His Ascension 4 passive actually seems kind of difficult to utilize except for on-field quicken DPSes. It only buffs characters that received healing from his burst, which happens every 2.5s or when the shield breaks. And the buff only lasts 6 seconds. So unless you can switch to the character every 6 seconds and make sure they get the healing or get hit, there's no buff 

He's still a decent unit, but the value just isn't there when Yao Yao exists.

I think they are saying she heals a ton too and applies more and better dendro with just her E and even more when she's onfield.

 

I'm confused as to why people are saying she gives a bigger buff. I don't think anything in her kit buffs reactions or teammates.

Well Yaoyao gives a 15% Dendro DMG bonus when you are in the aoe area of her raddishes. It's pretty small I don't even know if you even get that bonus except for Nilou's bloom teams so I don't understand why people are doomposting.

dendro is op anyway. My collei with sacrificial does more damage than some units and collei is pretty much panned lol

Baizhu is a dendro reaction buffer and healer. The shield is only there cuz well... the kit design team is the pits... might as well replace him with alpedo for the crystalize shields and em boost. With that said, I wish they would increase the shields to 2k and lower the heals a bit or increase the refresh rate. I just want to make sure the shield is indeed enough to protect certain chars from being rag dolls 

at the end of the day any catalyst can be made to be a totm/ttds bot so they never really lose

She's panned but she makes, along with Dori, the perfect instructor's user. That's what I have her on, since her dmg is so **** may as well use her to buff the team's EM in Nilou bloom or Alhaitham

also last I heard the interruption resist he provides is good regardless of when the shield breaks. Similar to how Thoma’s burst provides interruption resist even tho the shield is paper and needs to be refreshed.

The difference is Thoma's shield triggers every second. Baizhu's triggers every 2.5 seconds. This means that Baizhu's stagger immunity uptime is 50% of Thoma's.

Some leakers did say he was like dendro Yelan but apparently the beta version traded his damage for more heals, which sucks. I still think Baizhu will be perfectly fine once he's released, they might even buff him right before launch like they did to Kokomi so I'll try and hold my opinions until then. But the lashings are funny

I'm positive he will be paired with Nahida and Nilou. It would be pointless to put him with those two but who knows they've done weirder things. I already have Nahida and Nilou so I would be more than glad lol

 

Honestly all those videos of melt ganyu with Bennett, Nahida and Dehya are cool, at least Dehya is decently useful in that comp
