Based on the characters from the Archie Comics, RIVERDALE is a bold and subversive take on the wholesome town of Riverdale and some of its teen residents, including Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead, as they discover the darkness and dangers that bubble underneath their town’s wholesome façade. --- As a new school year begins, the town of Riverdale is reeling from the recent, tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom — and nothing feels the same. Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) is still the all-American teen, but the summer’s events made him realize that he wants to pursue a career in music and not follow in his dad’s footsteps despite the sudden end of his forbidden relationship with Riverdale’s young music teacher, Ms. Grundy (Sarah Habel). Now Archie has no one to mentor him, certainly not singer Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), who is only focused on her band, the soon-to-be-world-famous Pussycats. It’s all weighing heavily on Archie’s mind — as is his fractured friendship with budding writer and fellow classmate Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse). Meanwhile, girl-next-door Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) is anxious to see her crush Archie after being away all summer, but she’s not quite ready to reveal her true feelings to him. And Betty’s nerves, which are hardly soothed by her overbearing mother Alice (Mädchen Amick), aren’t the only thing holding her back. When a new student, Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), arrives in town from New York with her mother Hermione (Marisol Nichols), there’s an undeniable spark between Veronica and Archie, even though Veronica doesn’t want to risk her new friendship with Betty by making a play for Archie. And then there’s Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch)... Riverdale’s Queen Bee is happy to stir up trouble amongst Archie, Betty and Veronica, but Cheryl is keeping secrets of her own. What, exactly, is she hiding about the mysterious death of her twin brother, Jason? Riverdale may look like a quiet, sleepy town, but there are dangers in the shadows. SleepNoMore Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Riverdale has alwasy been over the top but I'm so glad they've fully embraced being weird and given almost all the lead superpowers now. And a supervillain. This might be my fave season yet.

Into The Void Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 (edited) Riverdale Ending: KJ Apa Reacts to Final Season News (and a 'Bughead' Reunion?), Teases Musical Episode Riverdale is ending after seven seasons… and star KJ Apa is already getting emotional about it. “I was a little sad,” he tells TVLine about Thursday’s announcement that his CW drama’s upcoming seventh season will be its last. “I try not to think about it, because the more I think about it, the more real it becomes.” But “I think a lot of us saw it coming, [Season] 7 most probably being the final season,” he notes. “So it didn’t come as too much of a surprise to me.” This season, Apa’s character Archie has found himself with mysterious new powers of super strength and invulnerability, which will help him in his battle with new nemesis Percival Pickens. “I’m hoping that it comes down to him and me fighting,” Apa says of the gang’s final showdown with Percival. “But I think it becomes a little more intricate than just a physical battle… There’s a lot of dark magic. He’s got powers, we’ve got powers. So it’s very Harry Potter meets Stranger Things.” (OK yeah, we’ll tune in for that.) Archie has also been happily coupled up with Betty this season… but Betty’s ex (and Archie’s BFF) Jughead was just reminiscing about his time with Betty in last week’s episode. Could Jughead try to win her back? “I wouldn’t be worried about that,” Apa says with a confident shrug. “I don’t think that’s gonna happen.” Riverdale‘s annual musical episode is coming up, too, which will tackle the musical version of American Psycho.
