The real competition is the public versus the jury. The voters are OVER it. :deadbanana2:

Ideal results for Alexa fans both nights. They need her top 3-4 with the jury in the finale, top of the televote and for Jordan / Allen to be pushed down by Riker or others.

Do we know if Jury has any say in the final vote??? Hoping it is all America.

I’m shocked Sweet Taboo didn’t make it!

Wow, what a tragic final. It’s going to be a 90 minute nap with only Grant and Alexa to provide any entertainment at all. Hopefully they’re the top two.

If this gets renewed for next year, they need to obliterate the juries. Just do away with them. All they do is allow boring ugly Ed Sheeran knockoffs to cruise to the final and while I like some of that music, that’s NOT what Eurovision needs!

If it follows the standard Eurovision format (which to be fair this hasn't really thus far) it should be a mix of both, but I'm not sure how they'll make that work unless they allow all 56 jury members to rank 1-10 with respective votes being added to the final scores.

I think the reason for the jury qualifier was to ensure that there was some kind of result for each show. In hindsight, they should've done an "instant save"-esque Public qualifier and then 4 jury-public qualifiers to be revealed the next week.

I think *if* it's going to be renewed they should switch up the show as follows:

4x 14 Act Qualifiers (Mondays and Tuesdays for 2 weeks): Each show was 1 "instant save"-esque Public voted qualifiers (revealed during the show), followed by 4 semi final qualifiers, public-jury split (revealed at the beginning of the next show), plus 2 wildcard acts based on the acts with the next most public votes that did not qualify. Each Tuesday on The Today Show, the Instant Save qualifiers performs.

1x 8 Act Wildcard/Second Chance Round (Sunday Night bonus show): 2 acts, one jury qualifier and one public vote qualifier advance to the semi finals (now 22 acts in the semi finals)

2x 11 Act Semi Finals (Monday and Tuesday for 1 week): each show has 1 "instant save"-esque Public votes qualifiers and one jury qualifers revealed in the show and then 3 public-only voted acts from each Semi final to be revealed on Wednesday's The Today Show by the hosts.

2x 10 Act Final Shows (Monday Night Performance show and Tuesday Night Results show): The acts perform on the Monday night, and then Tuesday night the first half has the hosts going round the country for the Jury votes and then a rundown of the public vote, revealing the winner.

TASTE. I really hope they get picked up and developed by a label after this. They have so much natural talent, charisma, and a really compelling and marketable concept that we haven't seen in a western gg!

For all the show's messiness, there was so much promising new talent: Sweet Taboo, Broderick, and Ni/Co really stand out with potential to break through to a broader audience.

I can also see Stela Cole, Grant Knoche and Alexa being massive. The talent is there. I listened to Stela's songs and I am obsessed with how good and addictive they are!

This is such a disappointing uninspiring bland final. California should've been there instead of Connecticut at minimum. Puerto Rico was also a fun entry.

I wonder if Riker could top the televote now that his significantly more famous brother Ross finally asked his fans to vote & will also be at the taping.

Quite possibly the only redeeming quality of the jury is how low they rank him.

Victoria Justice asked fans to help Grant, but I don't think her influence is strong enough to help him.

The trophy is exactly like the one of Eurovision but the mic is golden.

Oh nice, I'm glad the voting will be very Eurovision-esque.

They will give the points by regions. They divided the country in 10 regions.

Is this a jury nerf or just a tweak for the TV?

I wish Grant wouldn't be representing T*x*s :doc:

The way AleXa always delivers in her performances :clap3:

I voted for AleXa and nobody else

The way Feel The Love genuinely sounds like it could be a global hit though :jamming:

California really fumbled the bag. How do you flop when you have all these successful writers/producers at your disposal? I'm sure they could've gotten a semi-relevant person to represent them too. :deadbanana2:

OMG, I love that they're revealing the results like Eurovision :jonny5:

Midwest gave 12 points to Washington. Texas got 10.

Upper South :rip:

They gave 12 points to Tennessee (of course :rip: )

Posted

New England gave 12 points to Washington.
