tiejc Posted April 26, 2022 Author Posted April 26, 2022 The jury picks were the top 4 lol so I guess it's safe to say Tennessee will advance next week since he's the only jury pick in that semifinal.
Shawn Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Kentucky / Jordan has a free win if they keep the 50/50 format for the finale - since he's so high in both the juries & televote. ---------- After seeing the live voting results, Riker & Ni/Co could knock out Hueston & Ada this round. Which would help AleXa later on, assuming she cleans up with the current televote.
Shawn Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Well.... The link to vote linked on ASC's TikTok is not geo-blocked, as of writing. https://bit.ly/TikTokVoteASC
Michaelnsync Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 (edited) Seeing the ranking the jury I think is locked no matter what. Having the top 4 be the jury picks from each show. I think it may hurt. If you don’t let a song face America, because it always moves on. Doesn’t develop a fan base or following. I think MA performance was a bit weak from last time. And it showed in the ranking. Jury voted him 2nd behind Washington, and to be 7th, I believe, isn’t good. I think he would of been the most likely at the end as someone to overtake Washington, given they went head to head last time. I fell more in love with NH tonight, and prior to tonight I was baised to MA, being from there. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the song, but it’s growing for sure now. my hope for the 4 America vote in MA NH CO OK and if they do 1 Wildcard going into the Finals kentucky Edited April 26, 2022 by Michaelnsync
Gogetonthebus Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Staging, performances, and sound mixing were all amazing last night! This felt like Eurovision. The jury is so unbelievably embarrassing, and why is it so hard for them to just implement a consistent voting scheme? They're out here doing astrophysics just to end up with yet another sappy flop white man ballad.
Jack! Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Who the hell is on the jury? I understand American and European music tastes will automatically be different, but I can't help but feel every single episode the jury choice has been abysmal?

How were the ratings for the 1st Semi Final? Down a slight bit, but not a noteworthy amount. Stability is good for now, but seeing the quality of the SF from the very beginning would have really help this show start off better. 18 hours ago, Jack! said: Who the hell is on the jury? Tons of radio people so that explains the generic taste level: https://www.nbc.com/nbc-insider/american-song-contest-jury-list
tiejc Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 If this gets renewed (I'd be shocked) they should move the qualifiers and semifinals to Peacock and just do a very high quality grand finale on NBC.
goveg Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 i'm still mad that alaska didn't make it :( that song from jewel gave me abba vibes and that felt great and unique!
goveg Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 i'm glad that my girl enisa is back! green light is so good! btw i'm rooting for the amazing alexa to win!
tiejc Posted May 3, 2022 Author Posted May 3, 2022 Oklahoma, Colorado, Kentucky and Alabama join Washington in the grand final.
Jack! Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Is Alexa the bookies favourite? She will undoubtedly win the public vote (I presume there will still be one for the final?) but I hope the jury don't do her dirty.
tiejc Posted May 3, 2022 Author Posted May 3, 2022 Tennessee moves on to the finals. The remaining spots will be revealed on Wednesday.
Shawn Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Them opening the finale vote a day early is great. Benefits those with fanbases. Also, the jury needs all the nerfing possible.
Gogetonthebus Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 They really need to fix the voting system(s) if they run another contest next year. Total jury revamp plus the qualification methods. This is a mess lmao Praying that the day of early voting counteracts the GP votes for the boring contestants during the show.
GVet Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 I wonder if this is gonna get renewed or not… it’s not having much of an impact anywhere

Network TV is in the dumps generally, so this would need to completely tank next week. If I had to guess, it will likely move to summer and be retooled a bit.
tiejc Posted May 4, 2022 Author Posted May 4, 2022 Connecticut, North Dakota, Texas and American Samoa will join Alabama, Colorado, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Washington in the grand final next Monday.
