fiercE Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 This should've won the jury last week. Jared should've sent a shorter version of Afterglow.
EnterTheAttic Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Georgia was ******* amazing last week! Definitely in my top 5 of the whole this far! Heat 5 songs are out!
EnterTheAttic Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 New Boot Goofing is expectedly the first entry to be redeemed and will perform in the Semifinals. It's already a cult classic!
Gogetonthebus Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Las Marias were done so dirty last week. This jury is a raggedy old white iHeart Radio mess. Every week I think they can't possibly elevate yet another white man's ballad, but then they do just that. I'm ready for the Semi-Finals already.

tiejc Posted April 19, 2022 Author Posted April 19, 2022 Massachusetts, Georgia and New Hampshire move on to the semifinals.

This is kinda…..
Shawn Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Since half of the jury are iHeartRadio people - the winner's prize being radio payola makes sense. ----- Also, it sounds like the production designers will be changing up the stages for the semis? Interesting.

Hector Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 I get why Michigan won lost night but California easily had the best song. Hope they make it in next week Along with Illinois and Missouri.
Gogetonthebus Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 The whitebread iHeart Radio jury payolaing bland songs into the semi-finals. It all makes sense now. Truly the last people I would ask for an opinion on a song's quality American Samoa had better qualify or we riot!
tiejc Posted April 19, 2022 Author Posted April 19, 2022 Ratings up from last week but sadly still bad.
Scandalous Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 California slayed how tf did NH slide into the top 4?
Michaelnsync Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 So they mentioned 3 weeks from the finale. So I guess the Final 22 that made it into the Semifinals, Do we know how many make the finals? If they do 4 by Jury and America, and then 2 redemption, that would be 10 for the Finals. 1st Semi Final (11 each) 2nd Semi Final (11 each)

Gogetonthebus Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Rumored Semi-Final lineups based on who is in LA already: Quote Semi-Final 1: Ada LeAnn (Michigan) AleXa (Oklahoma) - this one is not 100% confirmed Grant Knoche (Texas) Hueston (Rhode Island) Jared Lee (Massachusetts) Jonah Prill (Montana) Jordan Smith (Kentucky) MARi (New Hampshire) Ni/Co (Alabama) Riker Lynch (Colorado) Ryan Charles (Wyoming) Semi-Final 2: Allen Stone (Washington) Broderick Jones (Kansas) Chloe Fredericks (North Dakota) Christian Pagán (Puerto Rico) Michael Bolton (Connecticut) Stela Cole (Georgia) Tyler Braden (Tennessee) Heat 5 Qualifier Heat 5 Qualifier Heat 5 Qualifier Semi-Final 1 is a bloodbath. What are they thinking?
tiejc Posted April 19, 2022 Author Posted April 19, 2022 Alabama, Colorado, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Oklahoma, Washington and Wyoming will compete in SF1 on 4/25 https://www.goldderby.com/article/2022/american-song-contest-week-6-preview-semi-finalists/amp/
tiejc Posted April 19, 2022 Author Posted April 19, 2022 Puerto Rico is in a good SF to make the grand finale. Fingers crossed he goes through.
orange22 Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 I’m not loving the structure of this show. Anyone else feel like more contestants should have qualified or there should have been another round of some sort? it just feels like we’ve lost a lot of interesting acts already and the jury picks have been a CHOICE. They didn’t even do the show over a short period of time and make it an event like Eurovision so why couldn’t they go full American game show and give us multiple episodes in a week and a battle round for the wild card spots or something? Not to mention this had SUMMER programming written all over it. The GP is more patriotic around that time anyway.
Shawn Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 That first semifinal lineup is terrifying. Hopefully, it's because producers are trying to knock some acts out. Due to the voting system, vote-splitting isn't as potent. But I think it might happen anyway. Also, due to the low ratings, fanbases become more powerful. MARionettes and K-Pop VPNs, do your worst!
