Let's at least wait to see if we can actually get a good Vs the World season on the books before committing to a USvsTheWorld iteration.

 

I feel like Espana should be next as that could pull from a lot of different franchises, and then probably one of France/Holland/Belgium could host one now that we have so many French speaking franchises. I think Down Under is probably going to be the least likely to have a Vs The World because I think getting a work visa in Australia is notoriously hard and because the travel fees would be so expensive.

Because they're doing All Star seasons every year. All Stars should be special seasons every few years (2-3) to allow a more "star-esque" cast to go through the ringer. 

When you need 10 queens every year from the existing queen pool, the quality is not there

It could be but a lot of the “good” queens don’t end up doing it. It’s not really even worth it if you have a decent following and don’t need a redemption lol

There was so much controversy when the Drag Race contract was revealed and how restrictive it was and apparently it forces Queens to go back on All Stars but then you have so many high placing Queens who we know have been asked multiple times who repeatedly turn it down. Asia, Kameron, Kim Chi, Laganja have been asked SO many times and have never been on so I really question how restrictive that contract is.

Yea I think they really don’t enforce that part but it’s standard for a reality tv contract to have it in.

I actually like the cast. I do wish a Holland or Thailand queen was on, preferably in Stephanie' spot. But I get that the visa process for Canada was probably difficult.

They can not force you back on any show. Ya'll really let Ginger Minj gaslight the entire fandom when she said she was "forced back" to justify her flopping AS2

 

They can be persuasive and insinuate its "now or never" or something of the sort, but there's no way in hell they can require you to be on the show and there's 0.00% anything like that would ever hold up in court. People get confused or misled cause the contract says producers have the right to require the queen to participate in 1 cycle (that means the season they are signing for and the promo/press week/finale/reunion for that season). The second clause is the option to appear in 5 additional cycles. They have that in place so they can keep a queen on retainer and reserve the right to deny them appearing on OTHER shows will still under contact. It's not required and there's absolutely nothing legally binding to make anyone forced to appear. The only thing they are forced to do is everything within their cycle, meaning a queen can't skip out on the promo shoot, press week, the reunion, etc. without prior approval. Phi Phi likely got fined for skipping the AS2 reunion, for instance. No one has ever signed up for AS against their will, Ginger the pathological liar included.

Hmm interesting... why is Jinkx going to Australia? I would imagine WOW will want the top 4 to do a viewing party together like they did last year for AS6. So I imagine Jinkx may have to fly to LA for this.

she’s touring there with DeLa from the 23rd to the 2nd of August, and her schedule seems booked (daily shows from the 27th onward), so she wouldn’t be able to take a flight. maybe they’ll do a zoom viewing party which is w/e, but idk if there’s any precedent for a girl winning when she’s not even in the US

That is so weird. Wouldn't Jinkx know she would have to be available for the finale, especially if WOW is doing a viewing party event.

It seems like from the AS winners, only Trixie and Monet have been the most brandable winners. Chad, Alaska, TTT, Shea, and Kylie haven't really had the most success in branding post AS.

Chad was before the contracts netted WoW a % of the queens earnings so she doesn't count.

 

But to say Shea and Alaska haven't had success in branding post AS is really just false af. Alaska and Shea have both been cast in other shows (Scared Famous & The Bachelorette) BECAUSE they are brandable queens. I know the racists of ATRL are allowed to run rampant on this site and like to gaslight ya'll into believing Shea is a flop but she's definitely in the upper portion of brandable winners. She didn't have her own beer, soap, and weed drinks from nothing - those were all collabs with bigger companies that prove she's brandable. Not on Monet's level certainly but by far the most brandable and profitable queen from AS5. Alaska was pretty much THEE queen prior to leashing herself to Willam a few years back. They made the decision to crown Alaska over Katya because she's more stable and brandable. Katya was more popular by far but the business-minded people in charge knew you can't rely on a on and off again drug addict to bank you money long-term - as seen by Katya's relapse getting her Viceland show cancelled. 

 

TTT only won in addition to Monet because she won the popular vote by a HUGE margin and WoW didn't want the fans to be pissed about the winner 3 AS in a row. Similarly, Kylie only won because she won the popular vote by a HUGE margin, had connections to a big celebrity (Miley), and the second most viable option was Ra'Jah who had less than half of Kylie's following. Even though Kylie doesn't have good branding for her own career, she WAS good branding for the show itself in crowning their first trans winner. Eureka & Ginger are far more successful but neither ever hit with the drag race fandom and were the 2 least popular in the fan vote.

I feel really sorry for Shea, WoW made her so dirty for that no-sense edit she got on this season. It would've been better if did not make Top4.

She will probably receive a Silky-sized backlash... and for what?
