i think the jimbo hate also comes from her allegedly being a nightmare behind the scenes? remember when she said in an interview that she screamed as loud as she could when pangina eliminate her and then that was confirmed to be true  her fans pass it off as part of her character but it's stuff like that and the fact she has never really spoken up against the (usually racist) hate her fans direct at other queens that turn people off i think. she said priyanka should've been in the bottom over her in the ball and made a lot of shady comments towards pangina which a portion of her fans took as permission(?) to attack those queens. i like jimbo but there's definitely something to be said there.

No she absolutely wasn't. Ya'll just love to discredit Shea with literally everything. 

 

Jujubee lost any chance of winning episode 3 when she embarrassed the **** out of herself in that flop lipsync not even knowing the words. That's no winner. It's only not talked about as much because we had the misfortune of witnessing even worse lipsyncs from the abomination that is Cr*ck. Meanwhile, if AS5 has 2 winners each week like the previous AS did, Shea would have 4 wins + 4 lipsync wins prior to the finale. 

 

Juju is a fantastic queen on the show and confessional gold but she is not a star in the same way Shea is. It was already obvious pre-AS5 but post-show makes it even more clear.  Shea toured with Betty Who, released an album, was featured in Rolling Stone, debuted several products, etc. Juju never has had that drive. She is comfortable doing group tours and being a homebody with her cats. Which is fine, but that's not a winner.

 

 

Anyway, to further debunk the GAS rumors...

The funny thing is, Shea was better on AS5 than S9 - they just did away with the top 2 winners (which would've given her an Alaska-like run), and people mythologize Shea's S9 run since she was the statistical favorite & it's part of the gag of the season (the finale).

 

Like if I had to name Shea's best performances/most iconic moments, it would be Category Is, her entire performance in AS5 ep2, and her Flava Flav snatch game (iconic episode too with so many strong performances + the drama of the season hunny). And nothing from All Winners other than the runways, if we're being real. She even became a better lipsyncer after S9 (a reasonable goal to set!).

 

The "she wasn't as good as in S9" narrative is so tired and INCORRECT

AS8 isn't even that bad of a cast. Heidi, Kandy, and unfortunately J*mbo are 3 of the biggest stars of the modern seasons. Jessica and Darienne are queens people have wanted back for years. Jaymes and Kahanna have had massive glowups from their original seasons, Alexis is a cringe camp icon, and LaLa is a legend in the making who earned her spot on the basis of being Miss C and a LSA alone. Naysha, Kasha, and Monica are the only real sneaks.

I hate Jimbo because she seems fake af. She showed her true colors in UKvsTW when tried to backstab Jujubee so I hope people realize that on her in AS8 and I also hope Heidi (as far as I know, she quit because of Jimbo favoritism, right?) tells the tea in confessionals and they don't cut it off

Tbd if that is actually why Heidi quit. They seemed to be good friends on socials after the season shot.

Shea absolutely deserved to win AS5. Her only real competition was Alexis who had everything rigged against her and didn’t make top 4 anyways. 
 

Juju honestly didn’t have a strong enough package and her only win should have been Alexis’s. She probably could have won Snatch Game, but Shea was strong too so it is what it is (I don’t remember the runway category that week but Juju was serving Mall Stars until the finale so..) 

 

Crack and Blairhead are non-factors.

this is definitely overlooked too. shea had a better runway than juju practically every week which is just another factor in favour of her winning. juju won her challenge in a halloween costume

mmm tbh you are lowkey right. Had it been a top 2 every week, it would have been Shea and Alexis on the top every week.

They are still good friends, they post funny pictures and videos together on a daily basis while on tour.
 

Y’all need to understand that this is a reality show, it’s television, and Jimbo is awesome in doing that. And a major part of her charm is how unashamed she is doing it, and the zero f**ks she gives about anything. Is it a talent? When you’re great at entertaining on a tv show, that alone makes you stand out. Add to that the fact she has good skills in designing her clothes, a great sense of humour and a very distinctive image, and you basically have everything you need to be a star on RPDR. 

 

Then, the cherry on top: her atrocious lipsyncs. They are SO painfully bad they end up being horribly iconic. And for a queen like Jimbo, I’m pretty much sure she knows exactly what she’s doing when she’s lipsyncing.

Yes and no. I do think there are still some viable early season queens that can do AS mixed with some mid out queens from recent seasons before they tap into the heavy hitter queens from s12-s15. I do expect another AW season and possibly a themed season like a legacy season to keep AS going. I feel like Paramount Plus should alternate AS and GAS each year though to keep the pool fresh. Like AS8 this summer, GAS next summer, AS9 Summer 2025, etc.
