Lemon Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 South Korean little mystery Sleep is one of those, well, sleep-related altered state type of example that interestingly explores somnambulistic and terrifying instances and its effects on people around the person who suffers from it (wife of a sleepwalker in this case). It still draws already explored supernatural and spiritual idea at its core such as many other Far East Asian thriller movies, but it still flows fairly well.
305 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Oh Smile 2 the horror movie of the decade that you are… 1 2 1
Jack! Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Can't wait to see Nosferatu, comes out here on Wednesday and might book in, since it's New Years Day the screenings are all pretty dead. Also I watched Clock (a 2023 Disney+ horror) tonight with Dianna Agron and it was actually better than I expected? Very topical for the generation and enjoyed some of the scares and the twist at the end.
Repelex Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Nobody talking about The First Omen which was an unexpected slay. Although I didn't get the part in the ending where they say his sister is gonna be important cause I don't even remember a sister in the original franchise being that important, only the second coming of Jesus or something in the last film . Unless they were planning to retcon some things and build other sequels from that.
Shelter Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 I enjoyed Azrael for what it was. Not sure about what the ending was though.
Jack! Posted Wednesday at 04:16 AM Posted Wednesday at 04:16 AM Happy new year to the movie of the year. 4
Lemon Posted Thursday at 03:39 AM Posted Thursday at 03:39 AM Well, if I am being honest, the best serial killer based movie of the year seems to be… Woman of the Hour. The movie doesn't have dread inducing atmosphere of the Longlegs, but in contrast to Longlegs's inspiration, I found Woman of the Hour's dissection of Rodney Alcala pretty concise and up to the point. We get to see him in different timelines and settings and each of the instances are tense enough. And the "main" plot point is pretty neatly woven into whole case study of this serial killer. This is also the best Anna Kendrick movie I have watched so far. It does work like a sweeping thriller documentary in a way.
BeachRat Posted Thursday at 07:41 AM Posted Thursday at 07:41 AM The Substance was the movie of the year 2024, and a decade defying masterpiece ahead of the peak of what i call "The Rave Era" of cinema. if you get it you get it.

The Witch Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Fell asleep TWICE watching RED ROOMS. But certain court scene was very disturbing and thinking things like that actually exist in real life make the movie even more creepy. Top 15 on my list i fear @Reverse Warholian

The pearl clutchers might be too shook still but this indie horror smash cannot be ignored by horror fans sorry not sorry Hell naw. All camp, no thrills.
