Jay L Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Just saw Oddity and I loved it! Very creepy and had some great jump scares Definitely one of the best horror movies this year.

killer_rose Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Finally saw MaXXXine...I am sick to my stomach of all the promising movies ending up having TERRIBLE final acts. I enjoyed it but it was hardly horror, more of a comedy and the final act was a trainwreck. 1
illia Posted July 28 Posted July 28 I saw the TV Glow is GARBAGE omg If "style over substance" was a movie

I hated the she got to live. I thought the gingerhead would be the final girl but that sheriff had to ruin it all, I HATED IT. I also thought maybe the gingerhead and the blonde would run away but considering she slaughtered her family I realized it would so bad lol I just watched it. It was a great movie up until the ending 1
genetic fail Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person was so good! It perfectly modernizes the classic vampire gothic romance. It definitely would have made my Top 10 of 2023 if I had seen it last year! @Reverse Warholian

Uncatena Posted July 29 Posted July 29 does anyone know of any horror movies with legal drama undertones, especially courtroom stuff? like The Exorcism of Emily Rose. I love stuff like that lmao.

It's such a good mystery horror drama!

I might gonna rewatch it soon too! It's been years, but I was OBSESSED with it when it came out back in 2000! Report back on how you liked it
ICLDXU4HS Posted July 30 Posted July 30 But the audience needs the Mia and the Maika to collab in a movie! 2

My friends were demanding I watch T.I.M. gassed it up so much and it was a film that we've seen 382 times in different ways. Nothing special at all.

Lemon Posted August 3 Posted August 3 I wanted Se7en type of narrative and dynamic driven plot with Sinister's scares out of Longlegs, but I think I got pretty vibe centred movie that seems like it doesn't live to the sum of its parts. Now, the story is good. The Birthday Murders serial killer? Like, that perfectly evokes decades we are finding ourselves in this movie (60s, 70s, 90s) considering their rampant activity in various parts of the USA during whole this era. I can imagine someone like Longlegs being actually active at some point in past. And that made me think it would be essentially more frightening. However, the movie throws in too many plain elements - from satanism/occultism to even supernatural take (which weakens scare potential in my case), but there is no context and no substantial comment, mystery is intriguing for sure, but it leaves too many questions still. The trailers seemed like it would get scary and sinister, but it definitely thinks of itself more than it is. I thought Perkins would develop more plot and characters' driven fable in comparison to The Blackcoat's Daughter, but wintry, diabolic setting is essentially replicated and while there is both head and tails to this story, it counts on being freaky and weird for the sake of it. I guess sacrifice can be its central driving motif considering the reveal/ending. It is well crafted/edited, but way too sparse as a whole.
