I really liked the atmosphere / how it actually looked like it could have been made in the 70s/80s. I don’t think it’s one I’d rewatch, but I did enjoy it.
 

I had no idea Megan was played by Greta Gerwig as I wasn’t that familiar with what she looked like, but I loved her character.

I was thinking about it yesterday, no horror-thriller movie has topped for me 'Malignant' since its release (but also when it comes to some previous years) and I doubt it's gonna happen anytime soon.

'Watcher' was in my top3 last year, definitely one of the best thriller of the last years, excellent movie, deserved more hype media wise, not gonna lie if it wasn't for the payola in here I probably would have missed it.

No offense but what I don't get how this thread is so.... not fun for a lot of horror fans. Barbarian is a great horror movie. Half the posts in this thread are people constantly shitting on basically every horror movie that comes out and it's just lame. It's giving pretentious. Horror is supposed to be fun and not that serious.

You should take certain takes in this thread in that way as well, people just have their preferences and favorites, you rarely gonna have all the users in this thread agree about a movie.

 

Personally to use my fave's favorite quote I've been watching Horror movies and tv shows since when I was a child, since my aunt is a huge Horror|King stan and instead of make me watch Disney classics when I was visiting her she always made me watch stuff like 'Shining', 'IT', 'Alien', 'Carrie', 'The tommyknockers', 'X-Files', during the years I continued to watch a lot so I'm not gonna lie, I am definitely hard to please or impress when it comes to this genre.

the first Saw is much more of a psychological thriller than what the franchise became known for. but they pretty much get more gruesome as they get along. some of them are basically splatter movies.

I like reading Watcher praise. It’s such a retro movie. Pretty straightforward, but they made it felt like we are watching Hitchcock’s Rear Window. 
 

On another note, Barbarian is great as well. It twists and turns and it nevers wastes a minute of its time. 
 

Has anyone watched Missing from this year? I think it is one of the best thrillers of the year. The old-fashioned thriller style, but has got all wiring and methodology of contemporary digital era. It’s actually much upgraded The Call.

No One Will Save You ******* RIPS. I’m biased because alien movies freak me the **** out generally but GOD what a surprisingly weird little gem. Kaitlyn Dever is a star. 

 

There are some extremely memorable sequences and turns in here.
